Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks Jack. The second lamb is from a new craftsman I took a chance on. Time will tell.
Good for you Bob, hope you made a good choice my friend :)

I came across this old pic :D

I like the clean looks of your wood handled HHB Jack.
Did horn come later to the craftsmen? I would assume those using the knife on farms, went for cheap function over form. Horn seems it would add to the cost, something a fragile farmer would avoid.
Early ramblings🥴

Thank you Bob :) Well, by the time spring knives (slipjoints) came around, the Sheffield cutlers had already been hafting knives for hundreds of years, so they were familiar with a range of hafting materials, but the Barlows were inexpensive knives, and used cheap materials such as bone and wood

I guess I was just thinking bone would be more time intensive, thus cutting into their production rate.
Guess I learned something today.

Beautiful  :)

Thanks Jack !

Stunning, my friend

Thanks mate !

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone had a great weekend, and that your week gets off to a good start. Sorry again about my absence yesterday. These days, it takes me, anything up to an hour and a half, just to catch up in the mornings! I think I'll be having another indoor day today, trying to get some of the things done that I wanted to do yesterday  Good time to carry my OTHER Hartshead Barlow ;) :)

If you see some of those old Barlows, they really didn't take much time over the bone, sometimes it's not even ground to shape! 😖😁
Good looking HHB ! 👍
Thank you Steve 😊👍

I worry that the future may be near perpetual rain, like Bladerunner. but with Yorkshire accents!
I hope Darryl Hannah will be there!
Wasn't Blue in The High Chaparral?! :D ;)
"We can fight the Apaches, or we can fight Don Sebastian, but we can't fight them both. [Good thing my wife is dead so I can form an alliance.]"
With Linda Cristal, not to be confused with Sylvia Kristel.

There sure were a lot of white-haired ranching patriarchs.

Don't be too sad Rufus1949 Rufus1949 , they do look kind of cool 😊👍

An underused actress, considering her range 😎👍

LOL! 😎 That line actually sounds familiar Jer! 😁 I remember in a school assembly, when I was about 10, the headmaster started by enthusiastically asking who had seen The High Chapperal. Then, "On a school night?! You should have been in bed at 9 0'clock!!" Sweet Space Lamb my friend 😎😎👍
Thank you gentlemen. A kind gift from Dwight.
Very generous 😊👍
Good morning Guardians !

Starting the week off with Gidget 👍

Fantastic Steve, lovely pic 😎👍

Sorry I can just make out letters to type, cannot see detail of knives. Eyes are still dilated from visit to docs.
Good news, I can still participate in the demolishion derby, which is the norm on my roads.😁View attachment 2484076
I can tell you that looks pretty cool Bob :) Hope your eyes are back to normal later my friend :)

Catching up can be a daunting task 😂. Hope your day goes well, Jack. I must say that the wood HHBs are stunning knives. I love my stag but there is something about that lamb in wood that is perfection. I think it’s the contrast of the nice bolsters with the dark wood.

Thanks mate, I had some stuff to do at home, but I also needed to go to the post office to mail a parcel to one of our number. I went to Charlie's first, which is about halfway between my house and the central post office. After having coffee though, I caught a bus in the opposite direction, to a small local post office, where they don't invent rules about what I can and cannot send. Unfortunately, there are only 2 windows, and I got stuck behind a woman who was doing something incredibly complicated, which took half an hour, and a bloke who was trying to send some money to Namibia. The latter was complicated by the fact that the woman behind the counter neither knew where Namibia was, nor how to spell it, and that the customer was a Londoner, who pronounced his 'A's as 'I's, so he kept saying, "No, 'I' as in 'apple'!" 😖 Another downside of this post office is that I always seem to get overcharged  I had been intending to go home afterwards, but changed my mind, and went into town to buy bread, and get some money from the bank. I had pie, roast potatoes, peas, and gravy for my tea, and a cherry Bakewell, but I have toothache this evening. Fortunately I finally see a dentist tomorrow

Personally, I much prefer the common or garden stag variety! :D
Another great pic, Jack.
Thanks buddy, very kind of you :)

Driving the wife to an appointment and then driving her into town for some shopping. Blue Albers today.
