Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Steve, That is one very nice older Lambsfoot, That Bone and Jig work is down-right gorgeous, I'm guessing you wouldn't find too many of the Older Sheffield's with almost what they call in the earlier American Knives the "India Trail". That's a real nice one - my pick of the day for sure!

Thanks buddy !

Steve, when is the lamb museum opening up?

Just waiting on a grant for funding 😁👍

So nice out that I enjoyed a wonderful pipe with the best tobacco in the world. In the pocket is this wonderful shadow Rodgers. Both happen to hail from the same country. English tobacco is the top of the mountain.

I think people get too caught up with steel. I have used this knife pretty hard and it is still hair splitting sharp. I am very happy with this English beauty. Enjoyed a wonderful red delicious apple for lunch and the patina has started on the shadow lamb.

I agree Todd. Lambs that get neglected often grow up to be.......black sheep. 🤣

Yeah, the PB thing was just insane! 🤨

I still get emails from them occasionally (got one yesterday, in fact) threatening to delete my account unless I pay for their premium service. They’ve been threatening the same thing for like six years now, and they don’t seem to be taking the hint. 🙄

As Steve and Barrett can testify to, summer continues to be our winter theme in Minnesota. :)
Last year at the Janesville knife show, Barrett and I arrived on a beautiful sunny day, and left the next day in a snow storm. :)
We will see what this next month brings for our trip. I look forward to seeing the regulars including Todd, Paul, and Harry, and hope to meet some new Guardians there.

It’s been an odd winter. Bit of rain today, but otherwise another 50° February day in Minnesota. I didn’t even wear real shoes today. 😁

Nice shot of your stag HHB, Neal. Those Fuente Hemingways are pretty good cigars.

I remember that snow storm also Neal! Really looking forward to seeing everyone and having a few beers. 🍺😄

I can’t wait! 😁:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Good to see you here Dwight

What is sad in our country Jack, are the number of people who go hungry. When I taught in a inner city school, it was the only place many children received healthy meals.☹️

Sending you good vibes for today Jack.
That's a beautiful trio Bob!

Beautiful lamb and pipe Paul.

I've been thinking about blade length, and how specific my preferences are depending on which type of blade I'm using. With clips or spears any length from about 2½" to 4" seems to work and feel fine to me, but with straight-edged blades I'm much more particular. With coping or sheepfoot blades I rarely like them if over about 2¼ inches. This is somewhat understandable as they are specialty blades. With the much more utilitarian lambsfoot I want a little more length, but not too much. RALF comes in at 2.79" from bolster to tip and is just right. Gidge (Albers) is a touch shorter at 2.69" but still seems fine. The lambsfoot on the #88 Gator is 2.97" and seems ungainly long to me. I'm interested in your thoughts on lambsfoot blade length, Guardians!

A quick response after a bourbon Jeff. I seem to like the Titusville blade the best. It falls between an Albers and a kroo. ( 3 inches bolster to tip ).
