Thanks Bill. Yeah the Talisker distiller's edition is my favorite.I enjoy Talisker Scotch. Never tried the Storm. Nice looking Lambfoot knife.
I've always noticed that your K'roo lambs have a longer blade. I don't know if I would like the blade for use but I've always thought the length was very attractive. Also I like the extra kant on Willem's blades.A quick response after a bourbon Jeff. I seem to like the Titusville blade the best. It falls between an Albers and a kroo.
Thanks man.Nice composition of Starry Night !
Thanks brother. It is tasty and I've over imbibed this evening...Thank you, Dwight. Lovely lamb yourself. Scotch looks tasty.
I've been thinking about blade length, and how specific my preferences are depending on which type of blade I'm using. With clips or spears any length from about 2½" to 4" seems to work and feel fine to me, but with straight-edged blades I'm much more particular. With coping or sheepfoot blades I rarely like them if over about 2¼ inches. This is somewhat understandable as they are specialty blades. With the much more utilitarian lambsfoot I want a little more length, but not too much. RALF comes in at 2.79" from bolster to tip and is just right. Gidge (Albers) is a touch shorter at 2.69" but still seems fine. The lambsfoot on the #88 Gator is 2.97" and seems ungainly long to me. I'm interested in your thoughts on lambsfoot blade length, Guardians!

Satisfying way to end the night Bart.I won’t make any statements about actual measurements, as I haven’t sat down with a ruler and measured all my Lambsfoot blades, but I will say that, in general, I prefer the shorter, stockier Lambsfoot blades to the longer, more slender ones. The “standard” Wright’s size and Albers Lambsfoot blade are just about perfect for me when it comes to size/proportion.
Eleanor had a school concert tonight, after which we went out for Mexican. Julie and I shared a large margarita this time, rather than ordering one each.Had my Katalox Albers with me.

Happy to chip in!Just waiting on a grant for funding![]()
I'm glad that you were able to find some of your favourite tobacco my friendSo nice out that I enjoyed a wonderful pipe with the best tobacco in the world. In the pocket is this wonderful shadow Rodgers. Both happen to hail from the same country. English tobacco is the top of the mountain.
I think people get too caught up with steel. I have used this knife pretty hard and it is still hair splitting sharp. I am very happy with this English beauty. Enjoyed a wonderful red delicious apple for lunch and the patina has started on the shadow lamb.

I still get emails from them occasionally (got one yesterday, in fact) threatening to delete my account unless I pay for their premium service. They’ve been threatening the same thing for like six years now, and they don’t seem to be taking the hint.![]()
It’s been an odd winter. Bit of rain today, but otherwise another 50° February day in Minnesota. I didn’t even wear real shoes today.

Quoted for truth! That Baxter is really something Steve. The jigging is wonderful and somewhat unusual. Love your photography mate.![]()

Thanks Jack, it’s my exception to agreeing with Barrett about size proportion preferences in a lamb. I see Skoll in your picture, still doing great here. I hope your Friday starts to improve, you get over the cough and start feeling better soon. Thanks Todd![]()

I dare say one of the English Red-Tops has had a headline, 'Colder than Minnesota!' in response to the inch or two of snow we had

Jack, I think that is just what I feel with the 88's longer blade; it's just too slender and "weak" feeling. Beefier would definitely be an improvement, in both width and thickness of the blade stock. With a longer blade I prefer something a little beefier.
Eat some curry!I was still none the warmer, and it took me a couple of hours to heat up again. I'm coughing today, and feeling pretty ropey

While I really like the larger lambs and there long sleek blades. I seem to prefer and carry the medium A Wright sized lambs more. Course that maybe because I usually carry them in my left t-shirt pocket. They also seem to feel better in my hand. My Lambs lead easy lives so don't really need a robust blade.I've been thinking about blade length, and how specific my preferences are depending on which type of blade I'm using.
