Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

That's the problem with weekend walks. Everyone's had the same idea. Enjoy your Sunday

Yeah, I used to do almost all my walking and climbing midweek, but harder for me now. Thank you my friend :)

Heading to a gun show tomorrow, mostly to look at knives and knife sheaths.

Any good finds at the gun show, Vince?

:D:thumbsup: The resemblance is eerie! ;)

I am a frequent visitor to the State of Confusion myself. ;)
The state population is large, and growing!

A pleasure my friend :) I think we've all re-invented something a time or two ;) We still tease my son-in-law about the time he announced his idea for a combination spoon and fork, and the whole room responded as one, "A Spork?"! :D He'd never seen one (even though Spork had considerably better marketing than did the Runcible Spoon)! :D

Amusing spork story, Jack.:p I'm thinking of coining a phrase: Necessity is the mother of invention, but ignorance is the mother of re-invention. (Or has that one already been done??)

. . . because, as we learned on Seinfeld, all civilised people consume their candy with a knife and fork.

How 'bout you?
:thumbsup::thumbsup::D

Thanks GT. Would you believe that was 3PM? (Approaching dusk in the UK at this time of year). Behind the Gerrard's Bakers pork pie is the Dee Estuary in Cheshire looking roughly north east, with the Ruabon Hills in north Wales in the distance.
And I guess you could eat pork pies for breakfast, (and given the calories in them you probably should) but I prefer porridge (what you chaps call oatmeal) with honey or syrup :D:thumbsup:
And as always great file work on the backspring there

I'm a permanent resident. I even have my residency permit. I'd show it to you, but I've forgotten where I put it....:)
Thanks for your replies, David. :)

. . . because sometimes the chef's knife could use a little help.

How 'bout you?

  • Well it has taken a while to post pictures of two really nice examples of Lambsfoot knives made by A Wright and sons. These two were purchased from Jack Black, an Ashley's Choice (JB SFO) and a small Rosewood with polished blades, which are a bit hard to capture in some light. A big Thank You to Jack for letting me purchase which I believe was the last AC available. Jack did me a big favor in mailing the knives to my sons house in England, which I was able to CE & CF them being in England for my sons wedding, in fact the knives got there before I did. The differing scales on my AC are very pleasing to me as usually I like matching sides, but this example has given me a different outlook, I love it! As far As I am concerned, there will be more of this pattern procured down the road. Now in the hunt for a 2018 Ebony with rat tail bolsters. Thank you again Jack!

Welcome to the Guardians, Russell! :):cool: Your stag and rosewood models are very handsome, and I hope you end up enjoying yours at least as much as I do mine.:thumbsup: The pile side stag on your Ashley's Choice has a very distinctive coloration!!:cool::thumbsup:

I carry a Lambsfoot because it looks nice with fall ground litter.

The Senator helped out with lunch on Friday and then posed for a glamor shot. :p:D

Good coining my friend ;)

LOL! :D Well, when I was editing my pics, something struck me about this one from the other end of the lake. There is actually a narrow causeway crossing the lake (you may not even be able to see it without downloading the pic and zooming in), and if someone had been on it at the time, it may have looked just like that :D

Thanks for the kind words Gary, it's nice to see your Man Jack :)

Any good finds at the gun show, Vince?

Saw a really beautiful Series 70 Colt Government Model that I coveted. There were lots of overpriced knives. Couldn't buy a knife yesterday because I'm saving for a Spanish knife. Main thing I sought was a sheath for my wife's Buck 121, the Fisherman model that is no longer in production. Her knife, which belonged to her father, was made 1972-1985. Didn't even know she had it--kept it in the gun safe.

I think I have kindled an interest in knives in her. She also brought out her father's old stockman (a Kutmaster, I think) from the 1950s. He gave it to her when she was a child in the 1970s. She broke the tip of the clip blade long ago, but she asked me to clean and sharpen it. I have also bought her at least three knives this year.

Anyway, no luck with the sheath, but I found someone who can make one for me at a very reasonable price. So the trip was not wasted.

I did buy some jalapeño beef jerky, and ran into a couple of friends, so it was a good time. :)

Thanks, Vince. Not so recent, but always sad; we had to have her put down back at the end of March.

That's hard Gary :( as I spoke before our Suzee is on a one day at a time journey. It will be very hard to put her down I'm sure.

Thank you GT, yes it certainly is distinctive, what character it holds.
