For the lamb ambassador to the world. Well deserved Jack.I think it's been an hour now, maybe longer, and my heart-rate has only just settled back down, and my vision cleared. I don't know how you guys managed to put this together, but I received a very special gift this evening, a wonderful knife, which I will treasure always. It is one of Cosimo Di Bendetto's beautifully elegant Lambsfoot knives, and it would be amazing enough, but it came as a gift from a bunch of you, who are my friends, which is why it will always have a special place in my heart. I can't thank you folks enough for all the kindness and friendship I have received here over the years, but this knife will be a special reminder of both. Thank you so much my dear friends
It's late here, and long dark, but here is my Pals' Lambsfoot![]()

I've been strutting around with Harvey's Wood-Lotto Winning Taylor's Eye Witness. Such a robust knife! In most dimensions, it's nearly identical to an Albers lamb, except it has a slightly more streamlined blade shape, and due to the thicker, more rounded covers and extra layer for the pen blade, has a thick, solid, and hefty feel. You know it's in your pocket. I like that in a knife.
It featured prominently in yesterday's picture for Mr. P's 30-day challenge - here it is with the non-lambsfoot knife edited out:

But trips to the backyard for pictures aren't what I think of when I think of "carrying a knife," and this one definitely deserves some time out of the house. To that end, it accompanied my girlfriend and I to dinner tonight. The pizza is topped with mozzarella, gorgonzola, speck, and wild mushrooms. I scarfed it all down like a house a'fire.

When I mentioned I was the current custodian of this fine lamb, y'all told me one thing: Photograph it against a backdrop of desserts!
I feel like I've been a tad neglectful in that regard, and so, when my girlfriend said she could go either way on some tiramisu, I promptly informed her that we had to get it as I needed it for a knife pic. "It's the respectful thing to do," said I.
I showed her some of Harvey's dessert pics and she agreed. Those are her hands in the background, boxing up the half of her pizza that she didn't finish. Hers had mozzarella, bacon, wild mushrooms, and fried eggs!

Good night, Guardians! As Robin Leach was fond of saying "Champagne wishes and caviar dreams!"
Beautiful old lamb Vlad!G. Butler & Co. Not sure about the time frame. I guess late 19th, early 20th century.

Wow David! Another one with fantastic jigging!
Just keep posting that beauty Dwight.
Many thanks my friends.
Jack Black I'm glad Cosimo's lamb finally made it's way home to you Jack! That is an exceptional beauty right there and very much deserved my friend. It was
Jakeywax31 Paul's kind heart that thought to initiate it and he ramrodded it as well. Thank you very much Paul for your kindness. You are deeply appreciated Jack.
Paul summed it up well. This is the place I enjoy most and spend the most time in on the forum, thanks in no small part to the effort you make on a daily basis Jack. May you enjoy it in good health.I think it's been an hour now, maybe longer, and my heart-rate has only just settled back down, and my vision cleared. Well stated Paul.I am so happy thatJack Black recieved that wonderful lamb. Great team effort everyone. Bob’s connection with Cosimo was the most important thing. I was overwhelmed by the blind willingness to help by everyone. You all are awesome and I’m proud to call you all my friends.
Jack, you have fostered a very close group here and your presence and friendship on the forum cannot be measured. I am so happy that you are ok and pray for calm waters ahead. Well deserved knife for our friend and let’s face it a father to the pattern for many of us. There may be plenty of back seat drivers to the lambsfoot but nobody would be capable of harboring the close knit group of people we have here. I think I can speak for everyone in saying that we enjoy the pattern but the friendships it has brought to us is the most important thing.
Thank youCosimo De Benedetto for dropping everything and making that knife in a week!!! Your skills are awe inspiring, sir. Whenever I see one of your creations my jaw just hits the floor. I suspect that after awhile there will be a l good number of Guardians carrying your knives.
Oh and I forgot to grab a lamb for the day. Left in haste for work and grabbed two speys
. I know…I know…an epic disaster.
Dan, you have the world of the lamb covered beautifully. My three Amigos. Probably the nicest ones in my collection. Traded for two and ordered the K’roo from Willem. I have Jack and Leon to thank for turning me on to this pattern

It would have sounded and read way better if you would have said it, BobWell stated Paul.It saves me from dribbling all over myself trying to say how I feel.
I'm at the " see spot run" level. It would have sounded and read way better if you would have said it, Bob. I’m just a caveman with a pocket computer

Thanks Bob! I’ll probably try for one more EA lamb but I’m pretty sure I’ll have to trade for it.Well stated Paul.It saves me from dribbling all over myself trying to say how I feel.

That is how you give a compliment!! Well said, Jeff. Roper is a stunner.Jack, your new C.D.B. black beauty is more than well-deserved and nowhere near commensurate with the value of all your input into the Guardians as well as the rest of Traditionals. We not only value you highly as a mentor in knife lore but treasure you as a friend. Carry it in good health! Roper says, "Hi fellers!"
And more killer stag from Dwight!
