Glad it made it to you safe and sound. It sure is a beaut! You're a Jolly Good Fellow, Jack!I think it's been an hour now, maybe longer, and my heart-rate has only just settled back down, and my vision cleared. I don't know how you guys managed to put this together, but I received a very special gift this evening, a wonderful knife, which I will treasure always. It is one of Cosimo Di Bendetto's beautifully elegant Lambsfoot knives, and it would be amazing enough, but it came as a gift from a bunch of you, who are my friends, which is why it will always have a special place in my heart. I can't thank you folks enough for all the kindness and friendship I have received here over the years, but this knife will be a special reminder of both. Thank you so much my dear friends
It's late here, and long dark, but here is my Pals' Lambsfoot![]()

Yes indeed! For the lamb ambassador to the world. Well deserved Jack.
Well said!I am so happy thatJack Black recieved that wonderful lamb. Great team effort everyone. Bob’s connection with Cosimo was the most important thing. I was overwhelmed by the blind willingness to help by everyone. You all are awesome and I’m proud to call you all my friends.
Jack, you have fostered a very close group here and your presence and friendship on the forum cannot be measured. I am so happy that you are ok and pray for calm waters ahead. Well deserved knife for our friend and let’s face it a father to the pattern for many of us. There may be plenty of back seat drivers to the lambsfoot but nobody would be capable of harboring the close knit group of people we have here. I think I can speak for everyone in saying that we enjoy the pattern but the friendships it has brought to us is the most important thing.
Thank you @Cosimo De Benedetto for dropping everything and making that knife in a week!!! Your skills are awe inspiring, sir. Whenever I see one of your creations my jaw just hits the floor. I suspect that after awhile there will be a l good number of Guardians carrying your knives.
Oh and I forgot to grab a lamb for the day. Left in haste for work and grabbed two speys
. I know…I know…an epic disaster.

I’m here because it’s like a “picture book”!I'm at the " see spot run" level.
Especially the pop out picture booksI’m here because it’s like a “picture book”!![]()

They're called "graphic novels."Especially the pop out picture books. Those are neat.
I just messaged him Jack- time difference - if he sees it in his late evening there ?I think you'll find you'll get a lot more accuracy with the Snipersling bands Bill. For clays and plastic ammunition, you don't need anything heavy, and if you want to increase their speed and power more, you can trim them
Definitely David, not a bad turn-out of the usual potato-heads today, including Boring Ray, Nobber Al, Ex-Para Steve, Golden Gordon, Robert The Badge, The Perfume Fatty's, Musical Andy, Shirley, Two-Mask Mary, Musical Andy, Harry Hot-Balls, Captain Birdsye, Barry The Original Ted, Slimline Scott, and Tool Man of course
They'll make a big difference
Thank you Steve, it has rained on and off, but not too heavy, and it has been milder the past couple of days
WRONG THREAD PAUL!!!![]()

Looking good Mitch
Many thanks Jeremy, I am deeply moved by everyone's kindnessPaul summed it up well. This is the place I enjoy most and spend the most time in on the forum, thanks in no small part to the effort you make on a daily basis Jack. May you enjoy it in good health.
My most sincere thanks Jeff, thank you for all your many here contributions here over the years, and for your kindnessJack, your new C.D.B. black beauty is more than well-deserved and nowhere near commensurate with the value of all your input into the Guardians as well as the rest of Traditionals. We not only value you highly as a mentor in knife lore but treasure you as a friend. Carry it in good health! Roper says, "Hi fellers!"
And more killer stag from Dwight!

Thanks a lot Will, you have already made a big impression hereGorgeous knife and I couldn't think of anyone more deserving! The cameraderie in this thread is truly astounding!!
I know I haven't been around that long, but I consider myself a big fan of the lambsfoot pattern and Mr.Jack Black himself. I also don't foresee, God willing, myself going away in the near future. In short, you're probably stuck with me.
The next time you all get up to something similar, I'd love to be a part of it!
--
I've been carrying and using this 88 a lot lately, and the more I do, the better it seems to look!

The ironwood has darkened significantly, and the blades are developing a mature patina, but the most striking change is that every component - the covers, shield, bolsters, and blades have taken on a more matte appearance, that I can only say reminds me of the type of natural lustre you'd expect to see on a much older knife - unsurprisingly, it's incredibly difficult (at least for me) to capture in a photograph. In other words, it's beginning to look a bit like an antique!
It's a little bit addictive, really. When I think about what I want to put in my pocket, I think "I wonder what one more day of carry will do for that 88?" -- and in the pocket she goes!
Thank you, to you and Dawn, for all your kindness my friend, and for acting as ambassadors for YorkshireJack Black I'm happy that the Guardians got to do something for you - you have done so much for all of us.
Thanks toJakeywax31 for putting this effort together.
