Seeing Jack's post with the police car in flames reminds me of the house in our neighborhood that was struck by lightning yesterday during a violent storm. The good news is that the residents were not home. The bad news is that the house burnt dow and three dogs perished in the flames. I inspected the carnage whilst my walk this morning...terrible.
I'll be carrying my Senator today.

Thanks a lot guys, I can remember dark periods in the 1980's before, but I have never seen anything like this before. The wave of lawlessness, destruction, and hatred has taken everyone by surprise, and while I'm sure the police will win in the end, at the moment, they're taking a good hiding. I never thought, at my age, that I'd have to band together with my neighbours, to repel a drunken mob, hell-bent on destruction and arson. The good news is that, for now, they have been seen off, and the police were more prepared for them, than they have been in some other English towns and cities, but it could be that when darkness falls, and more drink and drugs are consumed, some other neighbourhood will be targeted, or they will simply wreak havoc in the city centre I shall be sure to take care, and keep you posted, my friends

In my pocket for the evening Wish I owned the canon! I watched 6 police women on horseback, galloping to see off the crazies, who were already in flight! I asked one of her colleagues if they didn't have sabres!
