Thanks, Jack; felt obligated to show up at least for Yorkshire Day!
My wife only really had one or two miserable days at the start of her COVID infection. But she periodically has been using the home tests for COVID (last week Sunday, this past Monday, and yesterday afternoon), and keeps testing positive. On the other hand, I didn't show symptoms until last week Wednesday and was quite under-the-weather through last Saturday, but have been improving from Sunday onward and tested negative yesterday when my wife insisted I take a test.

I'm not sure how I have LESS free time now that I've "completely retired" from my former occupation, but I can no longer seem to keep up with both the Totin' Today thread and the Guardians thread, so the Guardians thread has been getting short shrift from me for quite some time (only 2 posts from me in the past 2 YEARS , although I'll sometimes spend a couple of weeks at a time just "lurking" silently among the Guardians).
I enjoyed your "Whiter Shade of Pale" reference!

However, we did make some chip butties. Bread, ghee (clarified butter, since butter no longer plays nicely with me), crosscut fries (it's what we had on hand), Henderson's. Since we're Californians in California, we had a steak salad and a fried tomato as the sides, then washed it down with Yorkshire's own Sam Smith Imperial Stout.

Tyson, I think you might win for fanciest looking chip butty meal ever consumed.

That said, when I was watching a few chip butty videos the other day, I came across one purporting to feature the best chip butty in the UK. Pretty quickly I could tell that it was going to be too fancy, and I had to stop watching when the guy describing it said the words “beef tartare” and “seaweed mayo.”

I like the added 'pints' factor! I was pleased to see a Leeds restaurant get some recognition by this guy yesterday

I have to admit, I don’t have much experience Indian food, but lately I’ve been thinking it’s something I should try more of. The food in that video certainly looks good!

Definitely, but I think he’d be disappointed when he got in there… that “gravy” looks suspiciously thin, almost as if it’s not actually gravy at all!

I would like to thank the Chip Butty Challenge Committee for their efforts in promoting this culturally important starchy sandwich. I would also like to thank a man from Leeds. Tool Man thank you for your inspiration and your leadership. Thanks to your example I was able to eat my butty in 3 bites. And finally I thank my butty buddies who raised the bar on what a butty could be. Congratulations Barret. Until next years challenge I wish you all the best Chip Buttys. And least of all thank you Ore-Ida for the Tater Tots.

I’m not sure I would’ve gotten that, Jack. I’ve seen the movie, but only once, and it was years ago. I thought about watching it tonight, but shortly after we put the girls to bed, the power went out (in our whole neighborhood, from the look of it).
