Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

The pile side of GL-24 is pretty good looking, too.

When the 2017 Guardians Lambsfoot was in the mail, a number of folks drove me absolutely mad with the tracking, despite my having warned everyone in advance, that I had no special powers to intercede with USPS, or any other postal service! 😖 A few guys contacted me multiple times a day, and one was so insistent that his knife was 'lost', that against my better judgement, and the conditions of sale he'd agreed to, I sent a replacement. When the two knives arrived on consecutive days, he decided he'd keep the free knife 🤨
Duly noted, pm Barrett daily & twice on Sundays 😅😆
Good to see you here! Your HHB is looking well-used.

I’d be disappointed if Boring Ray didn’t live up to his moniker. 😉😁

I should’ve sent Tool Man a couple chip butty stickers. I’m sure he has a sticker-covered toolbox somewhere he could’ve slapped one on. 🙂

That is a bit of an odd design, isn’t it? Seems to me like it would be less ergonomic than the standard swayback Lambsfoot pattern. To confuse matters more, I’ve noticed that on his website, Michael May refers to the swayback pattern as a “Barlow,” which is obviously is not. 🙄

I will say, I recently handled a Michael May Lambsfoot, and I was impressed with it. I know he gets his blades (and other parts?) from Wright’s, but the grind and finish of the blade on this knife were as good as some of the best I’ve seen come out of that factory (the best being the previous Guardians knives), and the fit and finish on the rest of the knife were quite good. Could have just been a fluke, or perhaps Mr. May is particular or demanding about the blades he accepts from Wright’s, I really don’t know, but it was a nice knife.

Not a fan of Tolkien?! 😲 That’s ok, Jack, nobody’s perfect. 😉😁

Dang, Kurt! You go walking around town totin’ two Albers Lambs like that, folks are gonna start calling you “Diamond Jim”! 🤣

That’s a shame. 🙁 I imagine going that direction across the pond with so many of those packages added to that sort of trouble. I think a lot of us here in the US get a bit spoiled with how quickly we receive knives (and other things) that we order, whereas folks like yourself in Europe, or Australia or wherever else might be more accustomed to having to wait for packages coming internationally and, you know, actually exercise some patience. 😉 That is, of course, no excuse for the kind of behavior that you describe, but I wonder if it’s at least part of the reason behind it.

Apologies for my part in this any off-topic diversion, Jack. I’m certainly guilty of going a bit too off topic from time to time.

Hey, I recognize that place! 😁 I believe you and I had breakfast not far from there, and it’s right around the corner from the Wright’s factory, too, isn’t it?

Another nice photo of your 2024 Guardians Lamb, David!

(Apparently I tried quoting too many posts and went over a 10,000 character per post limit. Standby for more.more.

Yeah used to waiting i don't really check the tracking rarely accurate.. Gets here eventually

He's boringly consistent ;)

Probably a bit too normal for Tool Man! :D

It seems that way to me too, though of course I haven't actually used one

Strange, considering his many years of cutlery training and mentorship

It's almost as if those knives might have been made by the same person

When the third film was at the theatres, a bunch of hippies who used to live down the road from me, were going to see it together, but were watching the first 2 movies first. I had to call round at their house for some reason, and there were a load of them crammed in the living room, intently watching the first one. I made sure to call in, and say I was just off to town if anybody wanted anything, to much eye-rolling, shushing, and even wailing :D A couple of hours later, I had to go back. By this point, they were all rapt, watching the second film, so I walked in, and asked "What have I missed?!" 🤣🤣👍

I'll just say this, of all the US customers, only one included their country in their address, whereas all the Canadians, and the others, all got it right! 🤣;)👍

Off-topic is perfectly acceptable Barrett, but I hope folks will try to focus on the Lambsfoot, at least in part of their post

That's right Barrett, we did! :)

Sorry I dropped this post before

Thanks mate, I'm just having a second bottle of Newcastle Brown, and then I'll probably have an early night ;) Have a good one Leon :)
Not so early, just had to deal with my bank, fraudulent activity, card blocked, password changes, and all because I wanted Amazon (who I subscribe to as a Prime member) to ship something to the USA!

Hey, that still looks pretty tasty… unless that’s cauliflower rice behind the meat there, in which case I’ll have to dial back my praise a bit. 😁 Seriously, though, kudos on the healthy eating. I could certainly do with some more of that. 🤣 And your Lambsfoot looks great! 😎
Nope, no cauliflower rice... It's pretty boring... plain brown rice, skinless chicken thigh with salt free seasoning and a dollop of sour cream. Slathered in habanero sauce. If you're not used to spicy, it will knock your socks off. Makes me sweat a bit, but very tasty! My wife claims I'm not human! 🤣

Thanks for the compliments! Looking at these new Guardians knives, I'm tempted to send one off for some micarta treatment!
Thanks mate, I'm sure I can find a photo of Boring Ray, but I try to avoid taking them for several reasons; He is so white he messes up the colour balance and light metering on my automatic camera; He invariably has a stupid expression on his face; Since he had his eyes lasered, some years ago, he squints and generally has his eyes closed! 😣

Here he is talking to Slimline Scott, physically displaying the feeling the rest of us often get while talking to Slimline Scott ;)

I had to be quick! :D That looks healthy :)

I have a coffee mug that says something like that, but it's considerably ruder! :D
🤣 Somehow I think I've met all of these folks, but when I met them, they looked a little bit different. 😂

Happy Friday Eve!
Outstanding!
Love seeing a CC being used and developing character. And you are the Prince of Patina.
Agreed, but I love seeing all knives that develop a patina, even if I have a few that don't.

Cauliflower rice sounds minging! :D Barrett is used to spicy! :D ;)

LOL! :D I guess every town has at least one Boring Ray! :D
I received this lovely GL-24 today. I can't say thank you enough to Barrett, Eric, and Jack for pulling this off and offering me a chance to own one. Now I want another chip butty. 😁

That’s interesting (and I mean genuinely interesting, not the kind of interesting that annoyed my boss 😁) about the goats, a creative solution to that particular problem! Yours Guardians Lamb is looking good!:thumbsup:

Thanks Barrett, Very cost effective as well !

Thank you Steve, pretty quiet day down there

Great idea with the goats, and great pics too Steve :) My mate Matt was in the Isle of Man last week, and showed me a photo of a weird Manx goat he saw, with 6 horns! Turns out they are actually sheep rather than goats! :D

Congrats Pat !

Great to see you here buddy, and that stag looks better than most of the stuff Wright's use :) I've edited out the name of the vendor, hope you'll do the same ;) I'm glad things are looking up for your dad :)
Thanks for thr kind words. Yes the stag is beautiful and its starting to yellow a little. And post corrected, didnt even realize i posted the vendor. 🤦‍♂️

Jack Black Jack Black you may have guessed I like to joke around but there’s nothing funny to say about the gentleman that kept both of the forum knives. Sorry about that.

Now importantly, you mentioned buying a chip butty. You mean to tell me that’s something I could have actually ordered while I was in England a few years back!
I make them at home - it may be sacrilegious but I put a thick gravy and melt cheese onto it with a sprinkle of salt. Did not realise it was available on the street!

Another nice photo of your 2024 Guardians Lamb, David!
Thank you friend 👍🤠

👍🤠
Thanks David, it could be he thought that if he closed his eyes, he's be able to work his jaws twice as hard! :D
🤣
I have a coffee mug that says something like that, but it's considerably ruder! :D
🤣👍🤠

🤣 You better stick to long guns Pete!
🤣🤣🤣. It was quite a suprise buddy.
Verah 😎 pic 🐑👍🤠
Thanks David. The action on it is excellent. Needs a sharpening though.
Have a good evening...
That is just stunning Dwight.
Great pic Pete, I guessed that was one of yours straight away! :D That ammo is a bit on the liberal side mate! 🤣
🤣🤣🤠

So you’re saying I have a type? 😉😃
We have goats on our property helping eradicate Buckthorn and other undesirable plants and weeds which have taken over our property. They are voracious animals and seem to enjoy their jobs. They even climb trees .
👍🏻👍🏻
Goats can eat a lot of undesirable vegetation. GL-24 🐑 looking good 👍🤠
I’ve heard they will chomp down poison ivy with vigor. 👀

Back to the special one today. 👍🏻
