I'm about to get ready to start my weekend, then I'll be heading down to Charlie's for coffee, and calling round at Matt's, as I have a gift for his son, before me and Matt head into town for a few pints with friends. I think we're going out for something to eat after too
I hope you all have a fabulous day Guardians

Ready to workBusy Saturday ahead for me… change the oil in the cars, mow the lawn, hit the grocery store, pack some more boxes… aren’t weekends supposed to be relaxing?
Anyways, it’s a good weekend because I’ve got my new GL-24 in pocket. Can’t beat that

Good pic of your HHB
Thank you Dwight, I'm very fond of itThe old houses are beautiful, and it's been a conservation area for the past 20 years or so, but unfortunately, in the early 1970's, about a third of the old houses were knocked down, and replaced with modern apartments. It's still a nice street though (I was rather embarrassed that the bins were out for collection!

Tool Man has had some decent 'ammo boxes' recently, so I got one for Matt's lad, Cillian. Like most boys, he likes military stuff. It says 'Grenades' on the side, so I hope I don't get SWAT-teamed walking down the road with it! :eek Talking of the military, I hope Paul is enjoying his holiday, and hasn't lost his shirt in Vegas!![]()

Considering how bland English food was historically, it seems strange that English mustard is so hot! Or maybe notI noticed the jar has the word "hot" on the label 3 times. I'd believe it.
I imagine that has a KICK Dwight!
Thank you SteveGreat pic of your '24 !
Hope you get the chance to put your feet up tomorrow buddyBusy Saturday ahead for me… change the oil in the cars, mow the lawn, hit the grocery store, pack some more boxes… aren’t weekends supposed to be relaxing?

Very coolMy Dad bought this box years ago surplus and gave it to us recently. We plan to put legs on it and use it as a coffee table out on our sun porch, maybe line it with some plastic to use as a beer cooler.

I hope everyone is having a nice dayThe forecast here was for rain, but it actually turned into a nice day, and it's a lovely evening. I had beans on toast in Charlie's cafe, and then went round to Matt's. Cillian was excited about his present, and came to town with us. We met up with some friends, outside a nice pub, and Cillian played the other lads, while we had 2 or 3 pints, before going for Thai. Matt then took Cillian for a haircut, and I headed home. My local high street is lined with stalls and gazebos, with barbecues, beer, cocktails, etc. Charlie's has brought in family and friends to cope with the demand, and they're doing burgers and pizza, as well as most of their regular menu. Lots of music playing, and young folks getting warmed-up to have some fun. They'll be closing off the road at midnight, and that'll be it until Tuesday morning. I might have a nap, and then watch a movie with a couple of beers
Have a good evening Guardians

Thanks Bob, me tooThanks Jack.
I do hope the weekend is brings good food and cheer for you.
So glad the rioters are not affecting the celebrations.![]()
Everybody loves this thing and it practically runs itself! Let's screw it up!Thanks Bob, me tooThere are a few local gigs linked into it, and there's usually music in the park tonight. The city council are trying to change a lot of things though, such as substantially shortening the parade route, trying to stop people setting up food stalls, which has been tolerated for decades, and massively increasing charges for the stalls in the park. I just hope this doesn't lead to any confrontations
Wolfie is away in Sicily, with his family, but all being well, I'll be meeting Matt in the park tomorrow, where we usually hook up with lots of friends and neighbours, and have a pleasant and relaxing afternoon

Sweet Pic.Well, it's wet today and the forecast is for more of it. When the rain halts and the sun comes out, the water gets vaporized and creates an effect similar to what one might experience if they endeavored to live in an enormous steam room cranked up to "Ludicrously Steamy." South Beach might look glamorous on TV or in that travel brochure, but you can't smell the folks on the TV or in pamphlets - that's the thing.
The plants like it, and the bugs seem to as well. If you don't hear from me again soon, the lambs may need reinforcement in the form of personal flotation aids, machetes, and fly swatters.![]()
That stainless/bex TEW lamb that Jack is graciously sending my way would be the right pick for this kind of weather!

Thanks Bob. I'm sure some will manifest in 3-5 months.Sweet Pic.Wishing you some arid weather.
Not my choice, but Ashley turns them out nice!Good evening Guardians! I have many traditional lambs but only one the Michael May says he makes based on a design by Trevor Ablett. The “Ergonomic” handles I find to be comfortable in hand but somewhat odd looking to my eyes. Though I’m sure that there are threads about them I don’t see them very often. Does anyone else have one and what are your thoughts about them?

I hadn't noticed that before either. I was surprised that my local supermarket had Laphroaig on offer at £22 recently. Coincidentally, in the pub next door, they had it 'on offer' at £6 for a (stingy) single shot!![]()
Tool Man tells a story about an American Rock & Roll friend of the Teds, Eugene, who bought a pork-pie, while they were on a pub-crawl in York, and completely covered it in English mustard. The taste came as a shock, and Eugene kept exclaiming, "Man o man, that's hot!". Later, he ordered a second pork-pie, and did exactly the same![]()

We have a few conkers on my street, as a result of the recent winds. My area must be getting gentrified, as not only was I the only one to gather any of the fallen wood for seasoning, but the car with the broken rear window wasn't stolen!![]()
