Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Everybody loves this thing and it practically runs itself! Let's screw it up!
Probably not really what city councils are thinking.
jHTY6Nl.jpg
They smell money Jer, their long-term plan is to move the carnival out of my area all-together, to a large park in an affluent area, where they can charge even more for the stalls, and charge admission to the event. The city council here have no respect for history and heritage, as can be seen from what they've done to the market  They want Space-Lambing, the lot of 'em! :D
Sounds like a fine day Jack ! 👍
Thanks Steve, it was a nice way to start the weekend :)
Well, it's wet today and the forecast is for more of it. When the rain halts and the sun comes out, the water gets vaporized and creates an effect similar to what one might experience if they endeavored to live in an enormous steam room cranked up to "Ludicrously Steamy." South Beach might look glamorous on TV or in that travel brochure, but you can't smell the folks on the TV or in pamphlets - that's the thing.

The plants like it, and the bugs seem to as well. If you don't hear from me again soon, the lambs may need reinforcement in the form of personal flotation aids, machetes, and fly swatters. 🙏

That stainless/bex TEW lamb that Jack is graciously sending my way would be the right pick for this kind of weather!

Great observations Will, I hope the weather improves soon :) Fab photography
Not my choice, but Ashley turns them out nice!View attachment 2644488View attachment 2644489
Very interesting to see :) Great pics
Some beautiful stag there my friend :)
That’s a good deal! (The supermarket price, I mean, not the pub, although to be honest I don’t think you’d find Laphroaig in a bar or restaurant here for less than $10. 🙄)
Yeah, Laphroaig seems to have slipped through the net for now. I can remember back in the 1080's, the difference in price between Laphroaig and Lagavulin wasn't great. Highland Park used to be a regular supermarket bargain here, but now seems to have slipped off their shelves. Talisker too, though I still see that on offer occasionally. THey have been replaced by much less impressive malts, sold at a similar price :(
You caught me! 😁
🤣 😉
At this pace you might as well start preparing for your 6,000 pages giveaway! 😉😁
Good grief! :D
I almost forgot that I’d included that Minnesota Twins pin. I bought a couple of those last year when we went to a game toward the end of the season and they had a section of discounted souvenirs. I grabbed a couple of those because I liked the I-guess-that-was-your-accomplice-in-the-wood-chipper vibe. 😁
🤣🤣🤣👍
Great gift for a young lad, I bet he loved it!
Thanks mate, he did :)
That’s great! I grew up in Arkansas, where we didn’t have professional teams of our own, so we had to adopt teams from nearby states. 😁

Here’s me at my first Cardinals game.

Ahhh, I can never see that pic without wanting to reach over, and pinch that little cheek! 🤣😉
That is odd. Perhaps the long-lasting effects of chilis and other spicy foods are too indulgent (not very British), while the quickly-dissipating heat of mustard is more acceptable. 😁
LOL! :D Good theory :D Things have changed a lot here during my lifetime though, our favourite national dish has been curry, for some decades now :D
You might as well move to some posh London neighborhood. 😉😁🧐
Yeah, it's rapidly going to the dogs Barrett! :D

 :D
I purchased this bottle of Laphroig last week in Tennessee, and it doesn't have pronunciation assistance 🤔

Nice not to be patronised! :D Nice pic buddy :)
Morning guardians,

Had a couple of mates come over to help with a little landscaping yesterday and to move my bed upstairs ahead of our hopefully imminent ensuite work.

Got the new lawn area bricked and eventually got the bed up stairs.

They brought their kids so we had 8 all up, not sure what the collective name is for children but I’m going with a commotion.

Candled up a fire and they all cooked some marshmallows, kicked the footy and spread a box of 500 nerf bullets across my backyard.

Had a nice bbq then us dads sat by the fire having a few beers, then moved on to some more beers and just at the point where we should have turned in cracked open a nice bottle of wine. By the time we finished that our wives came out as a united front and informed us it was husband bedtime.

LOL! :D Sounds like a great way to finish off a hard day's work mate, wine looks good
Night gents...
Cool pic Dwight :)
You know, I don’t think I’ve ever watched an Australian Rules Football match.
You might want to watch it in black and white Barrett! :D ;)
I only recently (sort of) figured out what was going on in rugby. 😁
League or Union?! :D
We got a couple kid-free hours tonight, so Julie and I went out for drinks and dinner.

We ended up at one of our favorite pizza places, but didn’t really feel like pizza, so we shared a couple appetizers (meatballs and wings).

Those look like substantial appetisers! 😋 Sounds like a lovely evening my friend, you've definitely earned a treat :)

We won our season opener vs a bigger school from Reno Nevada. Had some big plays, but always an opportunity to get better!
Congratulations Taylor :) Sweet pic

Lambsfoot do enjoy a feed of cardboard 😃
Cool photo Mitch

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a great weekend :) I won't be going down to the Carnival until early afternoon, but I need to find out my chair, beer-cooler, etc. It's fine now, but they're still forecasting showers later, so I might throw a poncho in my bag. Maybe they'll be wrong about the rain again 🤞 Have a lovely day Guardians

I "relish" that pic Jack. May the weather cooperate and enjoy the day.

Here’s a quick video explaining the game, it can be very entertaining especially when you’re at a maxed out MCG game with 80-100k plus fans.

Thanks for the video Jack 👍

I hope the rain stays away for you. Nice pic of your GL-24 !

Oh for joy, my day started with a healthy skunk greeting me at the back door!!!
This is definitely a Wright blade. I will have to work on the uneven edge later.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

They do come with a pretty obtuse grind. Nice Micarta ! 👍

Thanks Bob :D The sun keeps trying to poke through, but they're still forecasting rain. They cut down a bunch of beautiful mature trees in the park a few years ago, and this not only reduced the shade/shelter possibilities, and tarp-rigging points, but it created a serious drainage problem, where none previously existed 🤨

Yikes! 100% We all know that their standard F & F stinks, but the retailers ought to send more of them back, rather than passing them onto the customer  It's certainly a lot better than the first lot they had made up
How’s the pull and F&F on the new lamb?
I bought 2 from that run, and, compared to the previous one, the pulls are OK on both of them. F & F is a bit better too
Or human beings

Or Boeing Starlinering!
True Jer
I forgot what I was going to say about this.

The cheapest blend at the highest proof was good enough for me.
LOL! :D When I was a teenager, Southern Comfort was popular here, but only because it was sold 20% stronger than regular liquor. When they reduced the alcohol, sales plummeted! :D 🤮
I think value for money Glenfarclas is still hard to beat. It’s one of my go to’s.
Thanks for the tip Jack  Not that I need to buy anymore booze, I've got 4 bottles of rum for this weekend alone! :D

Enjoy the time without kids, hard to get that but always nice. Food looks great mate!

That’s a good video explaining it, Jack, informative and concise. Looks like a lot of fun! (To watch, that is. Looks a bit rough to play!) 😲😁

League or Union?! :D

Sevens. Thought I’d start small. 😁 (And it was on for the Olympics, probably one of the few times any kind of rugby is ever televised here. The US women’s team won the bronze medal, which is pretty impressive for a country that doesn’t really play rugby.)

Those look like substantial appetisers! 😋 Sounds like a lovely evening my friend, you've definitely earned a treat :)

Thanks, their wings are great (although a few of the drumsticks this time were on the small side). They also make a pretty substantial (and tasty) pretzel that I’ll get sometimes.

I’d noticed their gas mask tang stamp before, but I never knew it was supposed to be a skull. There’s definitely some detail lost in the tangstampification process. Looks more like a guy wearing glasses who got a haircut from Barber Brian… 🤣

I don’t normally have a bonus pic to post like SteveC SteveC but I took an extra pic of my ‘24 Guardians Lamb last night.
