They smell money Jer, their long-term plan is to move the carnival out of my area all-together, to a large park in an affluent area, where they can charge even more for the stalls, and charge admission to the event. The city council here have no respect for history and heritage, as can be seen from what they've done to the marketEverybody loves this thing and it practically runs itself! Let's screw it up!
Probably not really what city councils are thinking.

Thanks Steve, it was a nice way to start the weekendSounds like a fine day Jack !![]()
Great observations Will, I hope the weather improves soonWell, it's wet today and the forecast is for more of it. When the rain halts and the sun comes out, the water gets vaporized and creates an effect similar to what one might experience if they endeavored to live in an enormous steam room cranked up to "Ludicrously Steamy." South Beach might look glamorous on TV or in that travel brochure, but you can't smell the folks on the TV or in pamphlets - that's the thing.
The plants like it, and the bugs seem to as well. If you don't hear from me again soon, the lambs may need reinforcement in the form of personal flotation aids, machetes, and fly swatters.
That stainless/bex TEW lamb that Jack is graciously sending my way would be the right pick for this kind of weather!

Some beautiful stag there my friend
Yeah, Laphroaig seems to have slipped through the net for now. I can remember back in the 1080's, the difference in price between Laphroaig and Lagavulin wasn't great. Highland Park used to be a regular supermarket bargain here, but now seems to have slipped off their shelves. Talisker too, though I still see that on offer occasionally. THey have been replaced by much less impressive malts, sold at a similar priceThat’s a good deal! (The supermarket price, I mean, not the pub, although to be honest I don’t think you’d find Laphroaig in a bar or restaurant here for less than $10.)
You caught me!![]()
Good grief! At this pace you might as well start preparing for your 6,000 pages giveaway!![]()
I almost forgot that I’d included that Minnesota Twins pin. I bought a couple of those last year when we went to a game toward the end of the season and they had a section of discounted souvenirs. I grabbed a couple of those because I liked the I-guess-that-was-your-accomplice-in-the-wood-chipper vibe.![]()
Thanks mate, he didGreat gift for a young lad, I bet he loved it!![]()
Ahhh, I can never see that pic without wanting to reach over, and pinch that little cheek! That’s great! I grew up in Arkansas, where we didn’t have professional teams of our own, so we had to adopt teams from nearby states.
Here’s me at my first Cardinals game.

LOL!That is odd. Perhaps the long-lasting effects of chilis and other spicy foods are too indulgent (not very British), while the quickly-dissipating heat of mustard is more acceptable.![]()
Yeah, it's rapidly going to the dogs Barrett! You might as well move to some posh London neighborhood.![]()
Nice not to be patronised!I purchased this bottle of Laphroig last week in Tennessee, and it doesn't have pronunciation assistance

LOL!Morning guardians,
Had a couple of mates come over to help with a little landscaping yesterday and to move my bed upstairs ahead of our hopefully imminent ensuite work.
Got the new lawn area bricked and eventually got the bed up stairs.
They brought their kids so we had 8 all up, not sure what the collective name is for children but I’m going with a commotion.
Candled up a fire and they all cooked some marshmallows, kicked the footy and spread a box of 500 nerf bullets across my backyard.
Had a nice bbq then us dads sat by the fire having a few beers, then moved on to some more beers and just at the point where we should have turned in cracked open a nice bottle of wine. By the time we finished that our wives came out as a united front and informed us it was husband bedtime.

Cool pic Dwight
You might want to watch it in black and white Barrett! You know, I don’t think I’ve ever watched an Australian Rules Football match.
League or Union?!I only recently (sort of) figured out what was going on in rugby.![]()
Those look like substantial appetisers! We got a couple kid-free hours tonight, so Julie and I went out for drinks and dinner.

We ended up at one of our favorite pizza places, but didn’t really feel like pizza, so we shared a couple appetizers (meatballs and wings).

Congratulations TaylorWe won our season opener vs a bigger school from Reno Nevada. Had some big plays, but always an opportunity to get better!![]()

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a great weekendI won't be going down to the Carnival until early afternoon, but I need to find out my chair, beer-cooler, etc. It's fine now, but they're still forecasting showers later, so I might throw a poncho in my bag. Maybe they'll be wrong about the rain again
Have a lovely day Guardians

I bought 2 from that run, and, compared to the previous one, the pulls are OK on both of them. F & F is a bit better tooHow’s the pull and F&F on the new lamb?
