Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Hi folks,

I just got in after a long, tiring, but hugely enjoyable day over in Sheffield with Barrett :) I'm on my way to get some zzzzzs, but am looking forward to catching up with everyone tomorrow. Just snapped some pics, I thought I'd share with you before I hit the hay :) :) :)

WOW! That is awesome, Jack! I'm down for two of those (if possible), also.:thumbsup: Love the bolster too.

As one of two non-Wright’s-employees to have seen that knife in person, I will confirm that it is Ironwood, and that it looks great in person. As for the rest…

Here are a couple quick photos I snapped during our visit to Wright’s this morning (technically yesterday morning now). I’ll post some other photos from my Sheffield visit later on, perhaps in the lounge or the totin’ thread.

Thanks for the pics, Barrett! Enjoy your time there.

Thank you for introducing the Lambsfoot to the broader knife community.

Genetic handicap haha I don't think so Jack :p I am very happy that the name White Rose has been confirmed as I felt sorry for this beauty being called the Albino.

This will be the best Lambsfoot yet fantastic!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

It has been a pleasure Dave :)

I do hope so :)

That'll keep them down.

LOL! :D I am still coughing 10 minutes after reading that Jer! :D

Toting AC today.

Jack Black Jack Black the sunken joint on that ironwood lambsfoot makes the blade almost disappear in the handle! Very cool.

Nice Joshua :) I think the camera angle may make the blade look lower than it is, but certainly it is semi-sunken. Here, compared to my AC

Edit - Oops! Forgot to add the pic!

The "Puttertogetherer." I like that. Would make a great forum handle.

LOL! Yes, Christian! :D Up until about the 1950's, a lot of Sheffield workers paid a man a couple of coppers a week to wake them up for work. He'd go round knocking on windows with a long stick. He was called the 'Knockeruper'! :D

A folding Bowie would be pretty cool, too. Wouldn't fit in pocket, though!

Nice pattern, but yes, too big for a pocket :) :thumbsup

Looking good Jack! They will be beautiful additions to the Guardian lineage! :D

I hope so Duane, I'm certainly very impressed with the sample. Like the AC's and the 2018 knives, they'll also be made entirely by one cutler, which I think makes them extra special

I have a feeling those ironwoods will be popular! I'm in for one, for sure. That lambsfoot has enough room to really show off the grain.

Hmm...that wouldn't translate so well here in the states. ;)

Thanks David :) Where are you there my friend? Me and Barrett @btb01 called in a few Sheffield watering-holes yesterday - The Fat Cat, Kelham Island Tavern, Bath Hotel, and The Sheffield Tap

Still.....what a beauty! Great grain pattern in those covers!

Jack that ironwood grain is marvelous and I love the semi - sunken feature. Please count me in!

Thanks a lot guys :) I was just taking a pic for the Beverages thread, I don't usually use a flash, but I was using my old camera, and the flash went off automatically. Lights up the wood though

It's Costello's Bar in Stockton Heath in Warrington, Cheshire. Dunham Massey Brewery have three bars in Cheshire. Nice beers and a good price

A good choice of pubs there Jack. Did Barrett enjoy them? Me and a couple of mates did a crawl around Kelham Island pubs a couple of weeks ago. I was going to a post about them in the beers thread but just haven't had the time yet.

Thanks for the info David :) Thank you, it would have been nice to get to a couple more, but we had a busy day. The Fat Cat and Kelham Island were both very busy for a lunchtime. Unfortunately, The Sheffield Tap was absolutely rammed too. I hope Barrett enjoyed himself, I certainly did :) I remember we had Pale Rider in The Fat Cat and Ilkley Fireside Porter in The Bath, but I forget the others (we had a Tapped beer in TST)

Yeah we did the Harlequin, Shakespeares, Kelham Island, Fat Cat, The Gardeners and The Wellington and all except the Gardeners were rammed for a Monday, which was great to see actually. I'll have to do that post in the beverages thread.

Good choices :) I used to drink in the OLD Harlequin, a nice old back-street Wards pub, the present Harlequin was the Manchester Arms then. How was the Gardener's, I like their beer, but I thought it was shut during the day, midweek?

Thanks for the info Jack. I knew the Harlequin was named for another now demolished pub, but I've never been able to find out what the previous name of the present pub was.
The Gardeners was ok, but my least favourite of the three. Beer was great, but the pub just lacked that English pub ambience. It really needs a real fire in there and the lights dimmed by a couple of hundred candlepower.
Both the Gardeners and the Wellington open at 3pm, so we planned the crawl accordingly with the tram back to the station from Shalesmoor.
