Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks for the info Jack. I knew the Harlequin was named for another now demolished pub, but I've never been able to find out what the previous name of the present pub was.
The Gardeners was ok, but my least favourite of the three. Beer was great, but the pub just lacked that English pub ambience. It really needs a real fire in there and the lights dimmed by a couple of hundred candlepower.
Both the Gardeners and the Wellington open at 3pm, so we planned the crawl accordingly with the tram back to the station from Shalesmoor.

I don't think the name was changed until the 90's David, a lot of those pubs have had their names changed, sometimes having several incarnations. The Riverside was previously The Brown Cow, and The Fat Cat was The Alma until 1981. I forget what the Kelham Island Tavern was called, but it was a really grim pub! :D Sorry to hear about the Gardeners, that's disappointing. Good logistics my friend ;)

A Merry Christmas from the Northern Lights, Guardians of the Lambsfoot :D

Fantastic Dave, what a great pic! :D

Awesome ironwood Jack:eek::thumbsup:
Count me in !

Thanks Rob

Morning Guardians, I hope that everyone is in a holiday mood and looking forward to the weekend. I still need to sort a few things out, tidy up a little, and get out to the shops, but then I'm off to my mates with a sack of presents, and we're then going for a couple of pints (http://www.bingleyarms.co.uk/) Have a great day folks

What a good looking knife, Jack. Which size is that? (While I've never held one, I can't help but think that would make for an extra sharp Big'un...)

Thank you, Jack, have a great day! :D

Thanks Dave :)

How you doing my friend? Thank you, it's a sample for next year's Guardians Lambsfoot - 3 1/2" closed

Hi folks,

I just got in after a long, tiring, but hugely enjoyable day over in Sheffield with Barrett :) I'm on my way to get some zzzzzs, but am looking forward to catching up with everyone tomorrow. Just snapped some pics, I thought I'd share with you before I hit the hay :) :) :)

That is an outstanding looking knife and I am eagerly awaiting the email with the details!

Is this a new design? Looks like the swayback handle, but with a more sunken joint? That ironwood is superb. It’s nice to see some fine burl rather than the regular grain.

Life has taken some turns for me this year, for the better, but I don’t have much time to spend on the forums anymore. I still try to read them as much as possible. Also, I’ve greatly slowed knife collecting, but this one is one I’d love to own!

Of all the lambsfoot knives I’ve acquired, the standard swayback was the first one and still my favorite.

Jack, thanks again for introducing us all to these nifty knives!

Also just wanted to say that I love looking at all the photos everyone else posts here. Even if I don’t have the chance to click ‘like’ on every single one, I would if I could!

Hope you all have a great day!

The past several months I've disciplined myself to rotate through my 15 or so carry knives, the majority are vintage knives of different patterns with the exception of two lambsfoot and only one knife each day. Prior to that I would get hung up on carrying one or two of my favorites for months at a time and always at least two knives, sometimes up to four. The recent speed and excitement in this thread broke my discipline. I've only carried one of these this week. The AC early on and the horn later in the week. I touched up the horn this morning after recently working the tip into a keen needle point sharper than a briar ;). Thanks everyone for the enthusiasm over this great pattern! Thanks Jack for bringing us all on board with the venerable Lambsfoot :):thumbsup:
Here's a few pics from my weekly Saturday visit to our local dog park.

Highlighting this post as a reminder to self not to try posting on my phone when I've been in the pub! Sorry folks  I'll try again

Thank you my friend, I'll send out an email early in the New Year, after Wright's have returned following their Christmas break :) It's not a new design, it's the medium 3 1/2" Lambsfoot frame. I didn't ask Wright's to change the joint, but I did ask for superior fit and finish :) I just hope that all the Ironwood they use is as striking as the sample I have. I'm glad it's been a good year for you, and hope we will see you here from time to time. Thanks for the pics of that fine-looking knife :)

A pleasure Rob, I'm thrilled by the enthusiasm for the Lambsfoot pattern, those are two lovely examples :)

On the way to recycling (hmm, need another case).

Cheers my friend :) It looks like your Lambsfoot has been seeing plenty of use :)

Great looking handles on that sample, Jack!!!
Wonderful marbled appearance as Will Power suggested.

Thank you my friend, I am very pleased with it :)

Jack, I'm in the hospital and I've been better, but am hopefully on the mend. That's a nice looking knife, well done.

I've been reading your posts in the Lounger buddy, hope you're at least comfortable now. How long do you think they're going to have you in? Thank you

And to you and all the Guardians as well.

Thanks pal, and to you too :)
