Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks mates. I can't thank Jack Black Jack Black enough for having these beauties made up.

I did Dwight! One of those very rare three day weekends for me.

Sorry for the recycled pic.

A shame we couldn't get more of them buddy :) Nice to see you hold it in such high regard though Kevin :)

Definitely sounds like you’ve been busy! The way this thread’s been going lately, catching up is at least a part-time job. 😁

Great pics of your GL-24, they really show off the warmth of the Micarta! I particularly like the pile side on that one. I remember noticing it when I had them all together because I think the Micarta on your knife must have been the next piece cut after the piece used for @bigfish64 Todd’s knife. His has an almost identical, slightly darker slash on the mark side.

I think I’ve properly identified your knife in the group pic.

Man, that one just had everything, doesn’t it? Fantastic knife, Dwight!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I think you nailed it, Barrett!
These turned out fantastic! The micarta used in these look even better in person. It's got more character than any micarta I've got on any of my other knives- love it!

Great pic of a fantastic knife, Bob!

Today was Eleanor’s first day of 3rd grade, and Scout’s first day back in preschool, so I had a couple hours free time, which I used to check out a place I’d heard about a while back but hadn’t been yet: Ax-Man Surplus in St. Paul.

This place is wild! They sell a little bit of everything (and I mean everything!), but even more entertaining than the random and vast assortment of items for sale is the decor around the store.

Is that an iron lung next to a cutout of Foghorn Leghorn? Yes, yes it is.

The back half of the store is mostly electronic components, as well as some vintage electronic gadgets.

No knives for sale, unfortunately. This was the closest thing I found. 😁

This place was definitely an experience. There are two other locations around the Twin Cities, including one that’s actually closer to my side of town, but I’d heard the St. Paul store was the one to go to if you hadn’t been before. I didn’t exactly find anything I couldn’t live without, but I did pick up some small bins for organizing some of the larger drawers in my new tool cart/workbench/knife cabinet.

Of course I had my 2024 Guardians knife with me again today. I should’ve taken a picture of it somewhere in the Ax-Man store, but I completely forgot to, so I snapped this one later at home.

😎 Store and GL-24
That's a cool Lamb David
Thanks buddy 👍🤠
Good morning Guardians, I had a nap mid afternoon, but then had difficulty dropping off last night  Got work over the next 3 days. Going to have to miss the market, but hopefully I'll get everything done by the weekend. Hope everyone is having a good week. My GL-24 found its way back into my pocket ;) Took the pic at the market last week. I quite liked that splitting wedge, but it's another thing I don't need! :D Have a good day Guardians

Have a good day with your GL-24 🐑👍🤠
Good pic Bob 🐑👍🤠
Good morning Guardians and Happy hump day !

Carrying this Rose Lamb today 👍

Superb 🐑👍🤠

I hope not mate! :D State of my back at the moment, the last thing I want to be doing is swinging an axe/hammer! ;)
I got a note from my doctor for Lowe's to let me sit down as necessary. Not enough.
I have to call an outside company and ask my doctor to fill out their forms before they will judge the competence of my doctor. Insulting to her and degrading to me.
I'm not that far gone yet. They can go whistle.

It’s a beauty, Charlie. I went back and forth between the ebony and jigged bone when those came out. Went for the jigged bone, and I love it, but sometimes I wonder if maybe I should’ve got the ebony. I’d probably think the same thing in reverse if I’d gone the other way. The real answer, of course, is that I should’ve gotten both. 🙄😁
Tough choice!! The Ebonies are now hard to find!! I had a spare safe queen, but it finally went to a "persistent" friend!!

That place looks absolutely amazing! :D I hope the girls settle back into school OK :) Kids are back here this week, some yesterday, some today. Wednesday seems like a strange day to go back to school, but I guess it makes for a short week! :D

Thanks, Jack. It’s definitely a place I think you would enjoy. 🙂 I’m going to have to check out the one on this side of town. I think it’s a bit smaller, but hopefully just as eccentric and full of interesting stuff.

The girls were both excited about starting back, and they both had a good first day.

It looked like Barrett gave us a market report, without the characters.

Oh there were characters. 🤣 But since I didn’t know any of them, it didn’t seem appropriate to take their picture. Wouldn’t have been hard at all to come up with Leeds-market-worthy nicknames for them, though. 😁

What an awesome cool place! I have been very impressed with the disparate eccentricities of the twin cities. Never dreamed it was such a cool place.

There’s definitely some unique, weird stuff here. :thumbsup:We’ve lived here for 6 and half years and are still finding new stuff to check out.

I think you nailed it, Barrett!

Glad you like it, Ken. I agree, the micarta has some great character!

Winda has gone for a rest in the Lamb drawer, after an easy week with the Grandkids!! View attachment 2653454

Good looking Lambsfoot drawer, Charlie!

Sometimes the best policy with back ups and safe queens is to not let anyone know you have ‘em. 🤣

I heard GEC might be doing some more 93s soon (at least one upcoming SFO announced). Any chance we might see some new Waynorth Lambs? 😉🙂

It's nice to see some of your fabulous flock Charlie :)
Thanks, Jack. It’s definitely a place I think you would enjoy. 🙂 I’m going to have to check out the one on this side of town. I think it’s a bit smaller, but hopefully just as eccentric and full of interesting stuff.
I think I could be in there all day Barrett :D Places like that were common here once, but not anymore, every European High Street looks virtually the same
The girls were both excited about starting back, and they both had a good first day.
That's great to hear my friend :)

Or simply to forget where you've put 'em! :D

Some Guardian quotes leftover from late last week.

Awesome shot of your ebony Guardians Lambsfoot, Michael!!

The Lambsfoot I'll be carrying for this first week of September is Valley Jack, my 2019 desert ironwood Guardians lambsfoot:

- GT

Thanks GT! It is actually a 2019 ironwood like the handsome Valley Jack. But has darkened a fair bit, and being back-lit in that photo doesn't help.

Too much time on my hands Jack.😁

I have a spreadsheet to keep track of what/when/from whom//how much... It helps that I'm a low volume guy lol. Assume you get writer's cramp? 😆

Or simply to forget where you've put 'em! :D

Hey, I put stuff in "a safe place" all the time! Then wonder where it is months later... In fact I have two things on my "to-find" list at this moment, so far with no hint of success.
