Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Sorry you won't be able to make the market tomorrow Jack. I'll miss the pics and report. Very 😎 pic of your GL-24 🐑 and fire steel 👍🤠
I will miss the crew. I hope you have a fruitful meeting Jack.
Thanks a lot guys, just added these 2 quotes, which had managed to get lost (see my comments below!) :)
Quite a festival, Jack, did you dress up? Diego had a slightly wavey edge, so I spent a good bit of time addressing it. Better, but still needs some work.

Not in fancy dress Jeff :) Nice work on that edge, those are nice pics my friend :)
On the other hand, I didn't get this old by maintaining every heroic pose I ever struck.

I have time to listen to calmer council. It could be this is just how it's done nowadays and I'm just an old man complaining because something has changed.
I'll look for some mimeograph fluid to use as smelling salts in times like these.

You'd think in a country that used to be able to put a man on the moon,...

Congratulations  :)
Very handsome Steve :)
😃
Rocky road has been around for ages, originated here fellas, chocolate, marshmallow and peanut can't go wrong. Some do add jelly pieces.
Kristy occasionally makes it for me.😋
Thanks for solving the Mystery of the Rocky Road Mitch :D Boring Ray used to sometimes make it, but then he got more, er...boring! :D
Eggs and then into the daily grind.View attachment 2653786
Have a good one Jack :)
Jack I last night I watched a youtube tour of the Bury market. Pretty interesting. 👍
I've never been Dwight, should put that right really :)
Tool man said you have your priorities all screwed up Jack!
He was unusually understanding Dwight! And I didn't even have a note from my mum! 😁
Love that wee hammer Dave, and it looks good with your Barlow :)
Crisp pic Mitch :)
Valley Jack is with me all week. I'll try to remember to post photos in chronological order for the rest of the week. Yesterday I posted pics from February 2019. Here are photos from June of the same year.

Great pics Gary :)
LOL! :D Great photo buddy :)
Sliding down the page. So some drivel to fix the issue. Haven't seen a Christmas tree or any hint of Christmas in any shops or shopping malls or centres yet. Can't be long.:eek::eek:🎅🎅🎅.
🤣 guess again
There was a Christmas shop open last Thursday when I went the shops, wife was excited, me already!
🤣👍
Another nice pic of your GL-24 Mitch :)

Good morning Guardians, I think I have dropped a quote above there, sorry about that, I don't have time to go back and fix it now I'm afraid. I didn't expect to be calling in here at all this morning, but then my first meeting, in Bradford, got pushed back an hour. Rather annoying, as I might, just, have had time to call in the market for half an hour 😒 I'd certainly rather be there than going over to Bradford  Have a good day Guardians, and hopefully I can catch up ;ater :)

Thanks Jack
Gl-24 is photogenic.
Have a good one 1.

Don't worry you'll be inundated soon enough.

All great pics of the GL-24 !

Cool coin Bob 👍

Good morning Guardians. Going to play golf at Lockwood Folly today - got my 1st hole in one there on number two hole. 145 yard par three over the marsh. Looking forward to reliving the moment.:D Had my HHB out this morning for oil and a touch-up on the edge. Once I return from the links I'll be carrying it.

GT that may be the most handsome ironwood I've seen. :)
Gorgeous.
...
Beautiful knife, GT! That’s still one of my favorite Guardians SFOs.
Beauty !
...
Dwight, Jack, Barrett, and Steve, thanks for the positive feedback on the photos from 2019 of my brand new Valley Jack; much appreciated by Valley Jack and me. :)

One of the characteristics of Ironwood is how much it darkens with carry and use. They can end up looking like Ebony. I'm sure a lot of people who buy an Ironwood with age think it's Ebony if they don't know it is Ironwood. 🤷‍♂️
Since my desert ironwood Guardians lambsfoot only gets carried (with about a dozen other knives) for a week at a time 7 or 8 times per year, it has probably only been carried about 250 days over the 5+ years I've had it. So not a lot of carry or use, I'd say, and I haven't noticed much darkening of the wood so far. But maybe I don't notice the gradual change. I'll post chronological photos of Valley Jack this week to see if they indicate darkening that I've missed.

...

I was very pleased with the Ironwood we got for that run :)

Yes, a lot of the initial character gets lost

...
I agree, Jack; almost all of those ironwood Guardians knives were attractively figured.
Seeing the group photo again, I'm struck by how dark a few of them were to start with.

Thanks GT! It is actually a 2019 ironwood like the handsome Valley Jack. But has darkened a fair bit, and being back-lit in that photo doesn't help.
...

Hey, I put stuff in "a safe place" all the time! Then wonder where it is months later... In fact I have two things on my "to-find" list at this moment, so far with no hint of success.
Even with the back-lighting, I should have recognized that bolster groove as characteristic of the ironwood, not the ebony.

My wife is a big fan of putting stuff "in a safe place", but then she often can't remember where the "safe place" was. It doesn't help that she has so many "safe places" that she can't remember them all. Seems like a "safe place" policy would work best with just ONE place.

Good day Guardians. Fine looking lambs to see today as per usual!:cool: Here's my 2019 ironwood in brighter light this morning to show the 'hidden' character.

Sweet photo of a distinguished lamb!

I’ve heard that pronunciation of “root” (rhyming with “foot”) used by Minnesotans for both root beer and tree roots. Not sure about the others. I think I have a tendency to

I haven’t had their cream soda, but I think I may have tried their root beer. You’re right about the connection (notice the logo looks like baseball diamond).
...
Thanks for the replies on "root" pronunciation and Killebrew beverages, Barrett.
Several times per year, I still think about your link to the NYT "regional dialect" quiz that predicted people's location from their vocabulary. (Did it include any items about pronunciation?)

Nice pics of your 19 Gary 🐑👍🤠
Incredible grain GT.
Beautiful covers Gary.👍🏻
Great pics Gary :)
Thanks for more encouragement regarding my Valley Jack photos from sometime around its "half-birthday". :)

How many times have you had holes in one, Bill? Or is your first the only actual one so far, with many more still anticipated? ;):cool:
What club did you use for your first?
Your stag HHB is, as always, superb!:thumbsup::cool:

Here's mark side and pile side pics of Valley Jack in April of 2020. Maybe the wood is starting to darken, but it may just be the difference between photos taken on sunny days in 2019 and a cloudy day in 2020?

Thanks mates. :)

Have a great day all.
Beautiful 😍🐑👍🤠

Morning Guardians. I’ll miss the Market report today. I used to go to a Farmer’s Market on Sunday mornings and enjoyed people watching. But the real characters in town hung out at my favorite dive bar. Lot’s of Tool Man and Boring Rays. I was for sure a combo of both. But during the pandemic knocking a few beers back at home wasn’t working for me. I just stopped drinking one day. Now I have lots of lambsfoots. It all works out.
I imagine Tool Man in Leeds today…he’s telling the cake vendor to cut the cake in larger squares because he’s thinking of his figure and can only eat a couple of pieces. Boring Ray hears this and looks lost….here’s a knife pic. Have a great day.
