Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Billy has been happy with his birthday haul this morning. No points for guessing the theme. Daniel’s got present opening duties.

Yay! 🎂 Lucky lad! :) Great pics Jack, and I hope Billy has a fantastic birthday :)
Fantastic. 🥰 🥰 🥰
“Buddy Holly and the Crickets – they all wanted one. Sonny Curtis, his lead guitarist invited Rosemary and me to visit him at his home in Nashville when we visited the USA.

“All the members of Elvis Presley’s T.C.B. band have bought knives. When they were in concert in Sheffield, me, Rosemary, my daughter and granddaughter were invited to have dinner with them and the Sweet Inspirations before the concert. Glen Hardin, his pianist, still phones me every birthday.”

100 pages onto the next 5,000..

Thanks for helping get us there Leon :) 🏅👍
The last little batch of peppers off our plants this year was not enough to do anything with, but we're not going to throw them out.

20240906-123932.jpg

So we hit the local farmer's market this morning and I stocked up on a bunch of different peppers.

20240907-130840.jpg

I chopped the tops off, blended them smooth with apple cider vinegar and pinch of salt, then cooked them for a bit.

20240907-133637.jpg

After straining, the sauce got a bit more salt then will sit in the fridge for a week or so before use. (I tasted it, and it's mildly hot but really delicious - so more a flavor sauce than a hot sauce.)

20240907-151653.jpg

I put some potatoes, onion, and chicken thighs in a crockpot and dumped the sludge that was stained on top of it. Looking forward to dinner tonight!

What a great post Tyson, you have me thinking about an early lunch! :D
Got this wool slip for the GL-24 from Barrett today. Thanks Barrett and Jack. I really appreciate y'all giving me one. 👍🤠 Ive received a package from Jack and Jeremy also. Pics of that tomorrow.

It's been great seeing more of Valley Jack Gary, and seeing a bit more of you too! :D
Snakewood again.

You probably already think Aussies are already crazy, you will think they are even crazier when you watch this mark. 1 of the best you will see, he happens to be a Newcastle boy too😎
Very snakey Mitch :D Unfortunately the link wouldn't work for me :(
Cosimo #3 for my shift tonight. Cowboys have their first game of the season tomorrow. The let down begins 😂😂. I will be rooting hard nonetheless.

As a Sheffield Wednesday fan throughout my boyhood, I can appreciate your sanguine approach to disappointment Paul! :D Great pic brother, that's some nice patina you're getting, and I hope work hasn't been too hard :)
I am, very much. 😇👍

ummm ... the .45-120 is a black powder cartride round, like the origional .45-70.
I think the .45-120's full name is ".45-120-500"; .45 calibr, 120 graind FFg powder, and a 500 grain bullet. Tho it might have had a slightly heavier bullet from the factory.
It can be loaded with a lighter bullet of course. Any .458" bullet will work.

I don't know if smokeles loads have been developed for it.

(the modern factory smokeless .45-70-405 and .35-70-350 are loaded to pressures under what the black powder cartridges produced, to make them safe to use in the many origional Trapdoor Springfield rifles still in use.)

With black powder cartridges, the third number when used is the bullet weight in grains.

The .30-40 Kraig and veneralble .30-06 were never a black powder cartridge.
I forget what the "40" of the Kraig stands for. The "06" of the 30-06 is the year it was adopted for military service. There was a dimentionally identical .30-02 cartridge that was adopted in 1902. The only differance is the bullet. The 02 used a flat based round nose bullet.
The 06 uses a boat tail spitzer bullet.

A 02 and 06 cartridge are interchangeable and can be used in either arm.

The brass is rather hard to find these days, and expensive when/if you do.
Weight of smokeless nitrocellulose powder in grains....
I know it’s a BP round but it still can’t be loaded from the muzzle!

I know a guy that has one and wanted to offload it along with brass and projectiles. Offered it to me but while tempting I'm more interested in muzzleloaders.
ahh.
Sorry, I misread your earlier statement.
Guys, if you want to have an off-topic discussion about re-loads, with no Lamb content, please have it in Carl's Lounge  That's why that thread exists, and you're likely to get more folks joining in there
Always nice to re-read about those, and I always forget there were only 21 of the Rosewood!
There were originally only 20 Barrett, but then I had to get another made for 5K Qs 5K Qs
You should get him one of these to wear when he carries The Gipton Special. 😁

LOL! :D I'm sure I've seen them in the market mate, as well as matching fleeces! :D But, obviously being a contrary individual, Tool Man doesn't wear T-shirts! He'll wear sweatshirts, henleys, vests, but not T-shirts! Somewhere in his pea-brain, it makes sense! 😖
That sauce sounds good, Tyson. Although I can’t actually try it myself, I’m going to go ahead and give the Guardians of the Condiments Seal of Approval anyways. 😁

(I should’ve had some of those done when I had the other stickers made.) 😁
🤣
As an Arkansas Razorback fan, I know exactly how you feel. 🙄🤣 Your Cosimo is looking good.

Chicago-style deep dish pizza for dinner tonight, and my first Oktoberfest of the year.

That pizza looks incredible! 😋 Cheers Barrett! 🍻:)

Good morning Guardians, I was hoping to have a day of rest today, but it was not to be, and I'll be working all day, with a long day ahead in Bradford tomorrow  I hope that everyone else is having a great weekend :) Carrying my Hartshead Barlow today :) My grandfather left me 2 cheap pocket watches, and a nice gold Smiths of London wristwatch. He was a wire-weaver by trade, and that was his 25 year watch, you probably wouldn't get a handshake these days  My granddad was a very macho man, and it would probably pain him greatly that, even as a teenager, the bracelet was a little small for my wrist :D Have a great day Guardians

Nice granddad remembrance Jack.

Those HHB's will be fondly remembered by many of our grandchildren.

Enjoy your last day before your workweek ahead.

Nice picture Jack, sorry you have to work on a Sunday.

Nice granddad remembrance Jack.
Thanks Bob, he was funny old sod, but I wish I'd known when I was older. He had a stroke when he was about my age, maybe younger, and never really covered, passing away in his mid 60's :(
Those HHB's will be fondly remembered by many of our grandchildren.
I do hope so :)
Enjoy your last day before your workweek ahead.
Thanks a lot mate :) Unfortunately, it's already started! 😭 ;)
If you lasted that long in a company that lasted that long.
Indeed. It used to be the case here, that they wrote your profession on your passport, marriage certificate, and on your children's birth certificates. Not anymore, but then who wants to be known as a 'cold caller' or 'keyboard operator?! My granddad was the 6th worker (No 6 Hammer) employed by a firm that went on to be huge, and the loyalty went both ways. I still have the firm's logo, and the union badge, both of which he wore on his overalls
He'll be wanting to arm-wrestle you when you catch up with him.

Yeah, you're right Jer! :D Nice pic of OTW :D

Tasty lunchtime snack ;)

Thanks Jack.

Thanks a lot mate, incredible!
Nice picture Jack, sorry you have to work on a Sunday.
Thanks Steve, I often do, and don't mind so much, but I don't often have to work the whole weekend  I can't complain about work, I've been pretty lucky in that respect. At least I'm not having to work nights, like poor Paul

Is that a sausage roll? Never seen them with the holes here.

I do like your sauce though! I’ve got plenty of chilli’s from last summer still frozen and my coriander is big enough to harvest. Might have to try it myself.
It's was a frozen sausage roll from the supermarket! Tasted OK though ;) I've tried a few of the Mr Vikki's sauces and condiments. That one is the first I got, it could do with being hotter though I think
Tomorrow's carry is ready
Although Barrett must have sent me a trick 1 it's changed color.😜😁

Still looks good! 🤣
