He got the continent rightWrong name.![]()
A great way to enjoy the weekend Jack.
Oops!Wrong name.![]()
I guess they are made by computers now mate, those that are made at all, since increasingly, they just use lasersAnother skill that will be lost to time and modernization. Very sad.
LOL!He got the continent right![]()
We know, if you told us ,you would have to kill us.Good morning Guardians, I have a terrible confession to make, before going out yesterday, I decided to change my trousers, and left Wee Staggy in the dedicated Lambsfoot pocket of my others trousers!Unfortunately, I didn't realise until I was on my way to Bradford
The city centre may be a bit of a dump, but you don't have to travel far to get to the leafy suburbs, with acres of large houses, which must have been mansions once. Before lunch, we had a walk around a huge park, which I must go back and visit sometime.

Seeming as I post under my own name, and this is a public forum, I won't say anything beyond that, but they gave me something to think about
I hope everyone is having a great weekendHaving been away so much this week, I see some housework in my near future

Bradford is regarded as the northern curry capital of England, so that's what we had to eat, and it was very good. We had a few pints after, and I said farewell to the team I've been working with. Thanks for the encouraging words, Jack....
It's been great seeing more of Valley Jack Gary, and seeing a bit more of you too!![]()

There were originally only 20 Barrett, but then I had to get another made for5K Qs

Good morning Guardians, I was hoping to have a day of rest today, but it was not to be, and I'll be working all day, with a long day ahead in Bradford tomorrowI hope that everyone else is having a great weekend
Carrying my Hartshead Barlow today
My grandfather left me 2 cheap pocket watches, and a nice gold Smiths of London wristwatch. He was a wire-weaver by trade, and that was his 25 year watch, you probably wouldn't get a handshake these days
My granddad was a very macho man, and it would probably pain him greatly that, even as a teenager, the bracelet was a little small for my wrist
Have a great day Guardians

Superb grain on your ironwood Guardians Lamb, Steve!
Thanks, Bob. If I wasn't such a procrastinator, my replies wouldn't have to be epic!Gary, I applaud your epic reply.
Thank you for your thoughts. My brother is becoming an old man before his time, but he is a fighter, so we shall see.
Maybe the knife's position relative to the camera lens resulted in some kind of foreshortening in the image?Looks odd to me too![]()
I was hoping that you'd recognize the phrase, Bob, since you're about the same vintage as I am. I'm not sure where I learn some of the stuff I know. That is a new phrase to me Gary. I walk more like I was born in the saddle, if you know what I mean.
Yes she is, and yes I do.
I enjoy all the variations, so I cannot help you Gary.
Am I being presumptuous? Perhaps - and yet I'll go ahead and offer "swayback" anyhow.
Edited to say that the teardrop, a la Titusville's Old Man Jack, works fine for me but aesthetically, I'd still prefer some sway.
For me, the difference in use is most pronounced in tasks such as slicing a cucumber on a cutting board. With a well-engineered and executed swayback, I can take a pinch grip on the knife's pivot and cut straight down to the board. With a teardrop, and some other non-swayback handles, I'll find I need to cut straight down, and then pull the tip through the material towards me in order to get all the way through.
Thanks, GT!
Thanks for the opinions on handles and lambsfoot blades, Will & Jack.I still think Swayback![]()
Thanks for the info on the fascinating iPhone photo app, Patrick (and for the hilarious example)! Thanks GT! The knife in the photo is actually a sticker from the iPhone photo editor added to a pic of the cat. You can create stickers by long pressing on figures in photos which can then be added to other photos. It's just having a little bit of fun and magic with photos!
Lamb content.

GL-24 is a good choice for a quiet Sunday.![]()
Hope the driving goes well Bob
That's better!
Thanks Steve, I was hoping to take some more this afternoon, but it's after 3pm already!Nice pics Jack !
It's nice to see more of you here GaryThanks for the encouraging words, Jack.I've been able to at least read all the Guardian posts lately, although not always in a timely manner. But I seem unable to keep up with noting all of the posts I consider noteworthy.
I greatly appreciate the rosewood HHB you sent me to replace my defective original, Jack!I didn't realize (or didn't remember?) that the replacement you sent had to be made separately; I'd thought it was one of a few "extras" you had on hand.
Thanks pal, I didn't think I'd ever be able to enjoy another!Your stag HHB is splendid! There was a time when it was almost your EDC, wasn't there?
Landshark is an odd one, I'm still not entirely convinced by the modern onesMaybe the knife's position relative to the camera lens resulted in some kind of foreshortening in the image?![]()
I thought I had to go with a Candle-end for a traditional Barlow, and the ergonomics were better than I expectedThanks for the opinions on handles and lambsfoot blades, Will & Jack.
I also prefer the swayback handle, but that may be because that's the type of handle with which I have the most experience on lambsfoot knives. (And I'm always quite impressed with the functionality of my HHB that has no handle curve.)
Superb grain on your ironwood Guardians Lamb, Steve!
