Many thanks, Dwight! You're certainly qualified to judge! That is a fantastic photo Will.
Really cool Barrett, not many stamps see so little use, and usually they are stamping steel of course. After a while, they dull, and don't cut as crisply. You'll see the difference, if you compare the stamps on your Guardians, in some cases the stamps are brand new. In the case of the Hartshead Barlows, I asked them to use an older stamp, as I wanted to avoid the 'clean' stamp you get with new punches. Stamps of this type are applied using a press, but Stan Shaw used to whack his in by hand. Very few of his customers used to request carbon steel blades, but when they did, he tended to use old recycled Sheffield blades, of which he had a collection, (some very old indeed), but if they'd been hardened, he couldn't stamp them well, particularly as he got older:

When I had my Jack Black Knives set-up years ago, there was a stamp maker virtually next door. He is now one of the last working in the city, and makes the stamps for Wright's, though he will be very old now.
Black Jack is back!
During the last half of August, I was away from home and NOT following my weekly rotation schedule for a couple of weeks. Instead, I took some recently acquired knives with me, along with a few knives, including my 2018 ebony Guardians Lamb, that I thought needed some attention that I could give them while away from my usual routines.
Now that I'm back to my rotation schedule in September, I find that Black Jack is my Lambsfoot of the Week for September 15-21. So here he is, back for a return engagement, after only a couple of weeks off. (I told him he was back by popular demand, just to raise his self-esteem.)
Mark and pile, in a little woodlot, shortly after Black Jack came into my possession:

Good afternoon Guardians !
My AC is working, for now. However the compressor is working really hard even with the hard start/run kit. The compressor is drawing more power than normal in order to start and run. Something isn't right for the compressor to be doing this in less than three years. The only trouble is that while it's under warranty, labor isn't. I'm going to try and talk to the owner of the company that installed it and see what can be done. They have been very good to work with in the past. My friend who is a HVAC tech. thinks it's either a bad compressor from the factory with a defect or perhaps they didn't vacuum out the lines properly when they installed it. If there is a bit of moisture in the system it can cause premature compressor failure.
Vulcan Lamb today

Hope you can get the AC sorted. Bummer to have to deal with it right as we’re about done with AC season, but you obviously don’t want to put it off until next year, either.
I had the pleasure of meeting up with H herder anddanno50 (who was on his way back north from Wisconsin) for lunch today. We had some good pizza and got to sit and talk knives for an hour or two, which is always great. All three of us had a Lambsfoot on us, and I did take one pic, but somehow it came out blurry, which is frustrating. Y’all will just have to trust me that the pizza and the knives both looked great!
I had my Ringed Gidgee Albers in my pocket for the first time today.

Well I'm not that far off seniors card and it's a seniors bag. All though hope the seniors isn't an indication of soylent green being feed to the petsInteresting stamp info, Jack. This one certainly saw very little action, compared to most. I’ll have to take a look at the Hartshead stamp compared to some of the other Guardians knives made by Wrights. I don’t know that I ever paid that much attention to them.
That’s definitely a nice, crisp stamp.
I imagine it would be interesting to watch that guy at work. Eric mentioned that he “has a guy” who makes his stamps for him, but I’m sure that’s a very different (and more modernized) process.
Hope you get to relax a bit this week, Jack.

Cool looking old Lamb!
Mitch, I think you’ve been spending too much money on knives if that’s what you’re having for breakfast.Who am I kidding, sometimes dog food can be more expensive than people food.
Nice pic, Jack. Sorry about the frost.

Great expression Pete!I understand that Jack, the juice is sometimes not worth the squeeze! I have my mind set on a date for retirement but it’s quite a few years down the road. You must have a goal though.
Smashing star lamb Dwight!
Cool pic buddyOut and about in the yard. It’s sweltering already but these blooms seem to like it.

LOL!It's pouring. The cat got fed. I toted two lambs for the duty. The Stagnator is really growing on me. Harvey's Taylor has no room to grow - she's already at the top.

His workshop was tiny, just like a little cubby-hole he rented. He did engraving, and made signs too, and is still at itI imagine it would be interesting to watch that guy at work. Sounds like a mixed day Leon, I hope you get some better weather soon mateIt was like the middle of Winter here on the Weekend especially Saturday. I went to the footy to watch my old side in the Grand Final, would not have ventured ouut for any other reason. Luckily they went back to back, first time the club has done it for well over 90 years, so it was worth going, but they made hard work of it and could easily have thrown it away. After being the better side all day, that would have unbearable to watch. But freezing cold and wet, so the day itself was most unpleasant.
Definitely not Hot.

Ahhhhh. Your lamb has really developed some character Mitch.

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone had a top weekend, and that you're ready to do battle again! It's taking me an age to post, because I've been getting so many phone calls this morning
Hopefully, that'll soon stop, and I can get on with doing some stuff that needs doing
We have a couple of sunny days due, and I doubt there'll be many more, so hopefully I can get out at some point
Got my 2018 Ebony with me today

Forgot to post up this one yesterday. Took the boys down the street while mum was in bed after finishing night shift (always a mission with a 2, 4 & 6 yr old). Picked up some grapes from the supermarket and marshmallows. Cut up some grapes for the ride home, candled up a fire and cooked some marshmallows while I boiled the Billy

Cooler days are finding their way here.
No phone or camera, but wandered around Washington Crossing Park. I enjoy seeing the homes and atmosphere of the times.
