Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thank you GT for the kind words. I do wipe em down with mineral oil once and awhile and I only photograph on overcast days. Preferably rainy days. Natures light box. :D Union Jack looks buff and tan in his marine setting.

... and the lamb shall lie down among the "devil's snuff boxes".... :)View attachment 1044182

Excellent tips Dwight

Very good my friend :)

Nice stag there. I like the kind with long grooves.:thumbsup:
Whoa, your fiery stag is absolutely MELTING the innards of that "food"!!:thumbsup::D (I'm so lacking in culture when it comes to goodies like that. What is that actually called? I call everything a donut, or a sweet roll, or maybe a pastry if I'm feeling especially sophisticated.:()
Custard inside and chocolate on top, I would normally call that an eclair. In the case of that particular pastry though, it is a Sufganiyah, a fried doughnut eaten at Hanukkah. Here's one filled with jelly:

Really no different than a jelly doughnut or eclair.
r8shell, here's a link which asks that very question, and includes a tonguetwister that suggests the paradoxes of infinite regress! ;)

Thanks for the link. It's interesting how things that were so common become antiquated and forgotten in a generation or two. When my brothers were visiting last month, we got to discussing this phenomenon. We were speculating about what common objects or activities around us right now might suffer the same fate. Using cash? Driving cars? We Guardians must make sure that the Lambsfoot will live on!

On that page you linked to, there's a video of a singer singing "The Knocker Upper Man" In the intro, he mentions that whenever he sings it for American audiences, it always "...causes a smile. I don't know why, and I don't want to know why." :D

Just to show, I don't always pose my lambsfoot with food, here it is with the only thing better. A cat.

Thanks Rachel! I like my groovy knife, too. Your cat seems very fond of knives. Hope its not jealous of the sharpness of the blade compared to its claws.

Great pics Rachel :) Though I think I'd rather get woken up at 6.00am to go and work in t'mill than have to listen to much more of that folk singer! :D

Is it okay to photograph a lambsfoot on goatskin?

Looks good Vince - though I'm not eating it! :p Is your AC starting to take on more colour or has it always been like that my friend? Really pleased with the vintage Sambar Wright's got hold of for these. I hope they manage to find some more

I'm off out for a hike this morning, and about to head out of the door :) Taking the sample with me ;) Have a great day folks

I think the stag is the same, but the blade is not. Cutting various foodstuffs does that!
Really love the stag, both sides.
Have a great day, mate!

That’s some mighty fine Ironwood there Jack! :) I’m carrying some fairly nice Sambar myself this morning! ;):D Hope everyone has a great day! :D

It sure is pretty :) Thanks my friend, you too

I had a nice hike, but my camera had a mind of its own today, focusing everywhere but my knife, and I ended up deleting more than half the pics I took :( Got the best of the weather though, it rained for almost all of my homeward journey  I was intending to go out again tomorrow, but with all the rain, I may do something else instead. Hope everyone is having a good day
