Sufganiyah, a fried doughnut eaten at Hanukkah. Here's one filled with jelly:

Thanks for the link. It's interesting how things that were so common become antiquated and forgotten in a generation or two. When my brothers were visiting last month, we got to discussing this phenomenon. We were speculating about what common objects or activities around us right now might suffer the same fate. Using cash? Driving cars? We Guardians must make sure that the Lambsfoot will live on!
On that page you linked to, there's a video of a singer singing "The Knocker Upper Man" In the intro, he mentions that whenever he sings it for American audiences, it always "...causes a smile. I don't know why, and I don't want to know why."
