Blimey, I didn't realiser mate! That’s about $8aud, if I saw a slide of cake for that I’d think it was a decent deal. Getting bloody silly for a nice slice of carrot cake or lemon meringue pie at a cafe these days.

Cool mug Tyson!Barrett, thanks again for making the GL-24s happen, and for running a fun giveaway.
My wife knows that I consider Lewis' Reepicheep to be one of the great characters in English literature, so she recently gave me this mug featuring one of his best quotes. Shouted at a voice in the darkness that's making his human friends nervous, Reepicheep the Mouse says: "If you are a foe we do not fear you, and if you are a friend your enemies shall be taught the fear of us."
That's a great line! But it might come on a little intensely for most of the circumstances where I'm meeting somebody for the first time, so I'm still waiting for a chance to use it.

Incidentally, I managed to take this photo without dropping the GL-24 in the coffee. This time I didn't drop it in until after I took the photo.

Welcome back Jeremy, really cool picsBeen away for a bit, hopelessly behind on this thread. Was in CT last week for work, this Guardians knife accompanied me, and continues to. Bass in the picture is from a good friend, very nice and plays like a dream.

Black Jack is a smart one! This photo, apparently taken on Yorkshire Day 2018, shows Black Jack, my lambsfoot this week, using a slide rule to calculate that 2x3 = 6.
(That set-up of the slide rule also shows that the square of 3 is 9 and, equivalently, that the square root of 9 is 3. Nobody ever mentions this, but the left ends of the scales on the "slider" all align, so you can use them to find that 2 squares is 4 and square root of 4 is 2. If you trust your ability to visualize a vertical straight line through those 1s on the left end of the scales on the slider, you can also see that the cube root of 8 is 2.)

Thanks Pete1.5 oz tequila
.5 oz Gran Gala (cheaper than Gran ********)
1 to 1 1/2 limes pressed
1 oz Fresca or Diet 7up
1 oz orange juice or quarter orange pressed
Put that on ice and stir it up!

Absolutely fascinating!btb01 wants beverages? Then he gets beverages! Here we go:
Native or transplant, there comes a time in the life of every young and eager denizen of Miami when they must make a very important decision. This decision could impact everything from who they'll marry, if they'll hold public office, what schools they'll attend, where they'll summer, the type of employment they'll receive, whether or not they'll be written into the family will - or disowned and disavowed entirely. That decision is: Which of the three competing Cuban coffee brands do you prefer?
We've got a fight on, folks. A triple-pronged affair involving, in the right corner and wearing red and yellow trunks, the heavyweight champion - Caaaaaaaafeeeeee Pilón! In the left corner, wearing yellow and red trunks, a contender for the title and a sometimes local favorite - Caaaaafeeeeee Bustèlo! And last but not least, wearing green trunks and swinging from the stadium's girders with a hot-rodded buzzsaw and a maniacal cackle - the one, the only, CAAAAFEE LA LLAVE!!!
They're all basically the same. Cuban coffee is essentially espresso that's been toasted too much - and yet, here we are. I choose Cafe La Llave myself. It's an underdog. Frowned upon in polite circles. It's probably the reason I'm still unemployed - and yet, one time, upon opening a fresh package, an aroma so sublime overtook my senses that it moved me to compose a letter to the company in their praise. I'm basically completely in the tank for them. Alas.
I don't drink coffee much lately, as I've found that tea treats me better over the long haul. I made this coffee for my GF, and had a few sips myself. For me, I've found that less is more when it comes to coffee. Especially the Cuban variety.
What better pairing for liquid rocket fuel than a shuttle lamb? None better!
