Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks David, it's been nice weather here, and we had a good turnout, including Billy The Ted, Harry Hotballs, Slimline Scott, Boring Ray, Musical Andy, Owd Brian, Golden Gordon, Nobber Al, Long-suffering Shirley, Captain Birdseye, Barry The Original Ted, and Gravel
Yup, another great day of Monty Python's Flying Circus. Glad to hear all are healthy enough to make the gathering Jack.πŸ‘πŸ»

Yes indeed, I sure hope those folks get more help than they seem to have had so far :( Handsome Pile-side shot Bob :)
I’ve been absent recently (busy both at home and work) but just spent some time catching up on the thread. This one’s had a strong presence in my carry rotation lately, such a collision of great influences make it a special knife for me. A maker I appreciate, a pattern I love to carry, interesting cover material, and a group that’s great to be a part of.

Nice work Leon, what do you use the pouch with the Sam Browne stud for?

It was a lovely morning here in Leeds, and Gravel was already there at the stall, by the time I arrived, along with Boring Ray and Tool Man. We had coffee and jam doughnuts, and chewed the fat :) Boring Ray asked me if I could tell him about the shillelagh he had acquired, to which he'd affixed a large, stupid, price sticker. Ray is known for ridiculously overpricing his stock, which puts off many customers, and he eventually parts with them, after they have sat on his stall for months, at a fraction of his original price. In this case, the item, which his doltish 'research' had informed him was made of blackthorn, was in fact a knobkerrie. As Ray had never heard the term before, I showed him an article on my phone, but he was only interested in how much it might be worth. In less than 5 minutes, without doing any further research, he was speaking authoritatively to all and sundry about the item, including me, and confidently telling us it's age and provenance, which he continued to expand on every 5 minutes throughout the day

I thought Long-suffering Shirley might be interested in the item. She is mainly long-suffering, because her 2 unmarried, and feckless, sons still live with her, and the knobkerrie might make a good walloping stick! ;)

I wandered off to go and chat with Golden Gordon, and spotted this interesting vehicle.

Musical Andy suffered a heart attack a few months back, and has had to retire sadly, but he did call in for a chat, and will hopefully do so again. Another visitor was Billy The Ted, who is always good conversation, and especially well-turned-out

The market regulars were very impressed with my new Cosimo De Bendetto Lambsfoot :)

Gravel went to fetch some mushroom and onion bhajis, and Slimline Scott's greedy nose followed him back to the stall! Harry Hotballs arrived soon after too, and it looks like Tool Man was instructing him on the finer points of Boogie Woogie piano playing :D

The Teds are off to York for a weekend pub crawl, so I hope they get better weather than I did in York on Monday

Thanks for the report Jack, enjoyable as always ! πŸ™‚πŸ‘

Carry some small notes and coins, usually with pants or shorts that don't have deep pockets or a coin fob, which a lot don't now days. Can throw a small sized pocket knife in it as well for emergencies.
A better photo to give you an idea. Really well made, and can be attached to a belt. Were very common 60 years ago, especially when fob watches were very common. That is what they were originally designed for. πŸ‘Œ .

Thanks Steve, there was some minor excitement, when some big shouty bloke was arguing with the market security. At one point, he decided to sit down in the middle of the market. Whereupon, Tool Man went over, and told him, "There's no motorway coming through here mate!" 🀣
