Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Merry belated Christmas, Guardians!

Our holidays got off to a bit of a rocky start, and by the time things settled down, I made the decision to stay offline, relax and enjoy the (shortened) time we had with family. I’ve just caught up on all your excellent Christmas posts here in this thread, but I’ll apologize for not quoting/commenting, as there would be too many!

Our Christmas plans this year were to spend the holiday at my brother’s house in St. Louis. A day or two before we were set to drive down, I had a bit of a stomach issue going on, which I chalked up to something I had eaten. It certainly wasn’t pleasant, but it basically amounted to one rough night, and by the next day I was feeling better, so I didn’t think too much of it.

Saturday morning we loaded up the car and headed for St. Louis, about a 9 hour drive for us. Well, it turns out the stomach thing I had was, in fact, of the contagious variety. I’ll spare you all the details, but let it suffice to say that both kids became ill during the drive, and it was not fun. 😳

We obviously didn’t want to get anyone else sick, so rather than heading to my brother’s place, we booked a hotel for the night, and ended up staying two nights until all of our symptoms had subsided (my wife came down with the same thing the first night at the hotel, as well, so it managed to get us all).

Thankfully, our 36-hour quarantine (along with diligent handwashing and surface-sanitizing the rest of the week) seemed to have worked, and no one else got sick. We had a nice Christmas, pretty low-key for the most part. Here are a few pics from the week.

I hope you all had a great Christmas, Hanukkah, Festivus or whatever else you celebrate. Cheers, everyone!

sorry you had a rough time, you and the Family 😞

Really glad you all got back on track to enjoy the rest of your holiday my friend!

Happy New Year Guardians! I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Year.

I start this year of with the frustration and a little bit of horror that I cannot find my AC Lamb, I have completed over the top searches!
I try to tell myself that I have plenty of Knives- which I do, but when a Knife has such massive links to my mate Jack- it just hurts a little.
Yep, I could buy another Lambsfoot, but it will not replace my AC. In saying this I am lucky enough to my Lambsfoot draw and drool, and pick out another to carry today!

All the very best my friends :):)

I hope to find this wee champ one day

Cheers Duncan !

Sweet as a nut Steve! ;)

Thanks buddy !

Happy New Year mate ! I sure hope your AC turns up for you 👍

Happy New Year’s Guardians! Wishing you all good fortunes in 2025.

My nephew and I decided to close 2024 with a few bangs and BBQ of course. 🤠🤣

The yellow 2 is his target and the first five shots he fired from the Kalashnikov. (25 meters)

A lamb foot kept us company and carved the meats too.

I can smell the powder burnin. Nice Lamb 🐑👍🤠

I've been thinking of that song!

I immediately thought of that song as soon as Jack said 2025 was sci-fi sounding! 🤓
Me too, even though we still have 500 years, unless the lyricist was overly optimistic.

Changing calendars felt more momentous than usual. 2025 sounds like a Stardate.

[Oh, no, I hope that wasn't an interdimensional riff!]

Glad it turned okay brother, hope Santa was kind to the Kids😁
We still haven't been able to visit my mum yet.

Oh yeah, Eleanor got an iPad and Scout got an electronic drum pad. Not sure that was particularly kind to us as parents, but the girls were happy. 😁

Great combo, no need to say anything about Eric's work, but also a nice looking slip.

Thanks, Leon. I had several of those made by Justin Lynch (not sure if he’s here on BF, but I know him through another online knife group) for some guys who meet up at the Badger Knife Show in Wisconsin every year. They are nice slips.

Very sorry to hear about your misadventures Barrett, but I'm glad you were able to make it to your brother's for Christmas buddy :) Great set of pics

Thanks, Jack. 🙂

She's finally arrived from up north! Really happy with the condition of this vintage lamb, though she appears to have lost a front tooth at some point. I think I'll call her Bella Therese, after my niece that also recently lost a front tooth!

Beautiful old Lambsfoot. Shame about the tip, but a good looking old knife nonetheless.

Happy new year, Guardians. I hope 2025 is better than expected.
I'm planning to stay off the roads tonight. Might step outside to watch if the neighbors are shooting fireworks.

Great pic, Rachel! Happy New Year!

Thanks for the informative Christmas story and photos, Barrett! o_O:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Your family's pre-Christmas symptoms suggest norovirus. We've had a couple of recent stories on the local TV news about a large outbreak in Michigan, and I think my daughter and son-in-law, who both work for MN Health Dept., mentioned the same for Minnesota.

Thanks, GT. We figured that’s what it most likely was. I certainly don’t recommend it! 😁 Even after two nights in a hotel and a full 24 after any symptoms, we were still a bit nervous about joining the rest of the family, and were relieved that no one else got sick.

Good evening Guardians, I was trying to post from my local pub - The Three Hulats - 3 or 4 hours ago, but that whole area is an internet black-hole 🤨 I've no idea why they don't sort it out

6-7-20 (1).JPG

Hope you had a nice time at the pub. I had to Google what a “hulat” was, and even then, the only result I found (which informed me that it was a small owl) was an article specifically about that pub.

I think that, as with my old Abram Brooksbank, it's days as a Lamb are over

I thought I was in the wrong thread for a second! 😲😁

Happy New Years Guardians and all the best in the coming year.

What an excellent pair!

I've been watching one of my favourite Christmas movies ;) :D

I love a good non-traditional Christmas movie, and that’s definitely a good one!

Sounds like a good time, Pete, and the bbq looks tasty. 😎

Had to go with the fancy Cosimo Lamb for New Years (even though we didn’t do anything fancy at all). Happy New Year, Guardians!

Happy New Year Duncan, and I really hope that your AC will turn up soon my friend :(
I never heard of In Bruges, but after watching the clip, its on my list of movies to see :)
Hope you enjoy it Mike :) I have been to Belgium lots of times, but never to Bruges, so I'll have to go and hide out there sometime :D

The first time I asked there, they told me a hulat was a small barrel, then I discovered an info board, where it says a hulat is a small owl. It's actually a Yorkshire word, once commonly used for an owl  That's funny that is the only online source Barrett :D

Great pic Barrett, hope you have a fancy 2025 buddy :)

Good morning Guardians, and welcome to 2025! 🎆 I hope everyone had a pleasant New Year's Eve, and that there aren't too many sore heads this morning :) Wishing you all a safe, happy, gentle, and kind 2025 ;)

I bought these ornaments yesterday, partly because they were four dollars instead of fifteen, and partly because it hadn't occurred to me to adorn myself for New Year's Eve. I was going to make a crown and a stole.
A5hTGQ5.jpg

Unfortunately, we're not allowed to shop on duty; but fortunately I was allowed to grab them and hide them behind the desk, because they were gone when I went back to see about switching the red for gold.
That's twinkly red ribbon under Rose Beast.

It's back!

Last year was at least the second New Year's where I thought of blackeyed peas on New Year's, and there were none in three stores. So I bought some when they came back, and here they are! Even soaked overnight.
