I’m afraid they’re going to end up cancelling the sled dog race on Lake Minnetonka again this year if we don’t get some snow soon.

I’ve been maintaining a steady rotation of Albers Lambs lately. This weekend it’s been the Ringed Gidgee. I do need to change it up a bit and give my non-Albers Lambs some pocket time.

Last night Julie and I went out to eat at a place that H herder had introduced me to a while back. I had a local oatmeal stout and fish and chips. The fish was great, and the fries were good, too, despite not being proper chippy chips.

Good morning Guardians, we still weather here, snow, rain, and low temperatures. The roads and pavements look treacherous, and I feel rough from a bad night's sleep, so decided to cancel my physio. Hope your week gets off to a better start Guardians

How's everyone doing? I've just had a couple of mince pies with a cup of Yorkshire. I got the pies from Our Cake Man in the market, but they are probably the worst mince pies I've ever had! So, I shall be giving him a good roasting, with Tool Man, on Thursday! I just spoke to Tool Man on the phone, and he is busy working on the old BSA that he's been working on for the past 6 months - Keeps him off the streets I reckon!

Thanks Bob I know what you mean Bob, I was an apprentice mechanic when I first left school, lots of breakdowns of dirty old vehicles, and battered machinery, on muddy building sites. I certainly don't miss it!

It certainly doesn’t feel mild at the moment. We had a bit of snow in December, but it warmed up enough over Christmas to melt most of that. It’s plenty cold now (just above 0°F when I took Eleanor to school this morning), no temps above freezing in the forecast, and there were trucks out on the ice over the weekend, but they need a good amount of snow to run the race (it’s needed on the lake for the dogs to run, of course, but they also have to have enough to haul into downtown Excelsior to make the start/finish line on the street that runs through the town and out onto the lake). We’ll see what happens. The race is scheduled for February 1st, so hopefully it’ll snow soon.
