Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks Jeff, I'm afraid my family history of heart disease is not good, but the docs reckon I'm in relatively good shape, surprisingly, and I don't smoke, drink alcohol moderately, and do lots of walking, so I have some chance of beating genetic bad luck. I will try to slow down with work a bit too, as I've been doing a lot lately, and while it's not hard or dangerous physical work, taking on too much can still lead to stress

You're picking up quite the impressive list of ailments my friend. Take care, this is one area where more is definitely not better.

I just watched a preview for the upcoming season of SAS: Rogue Heroes. In the scene, two of our indomitable warriors are fishing. Paddy had a clasp knife, but Reg was using what looked like a lambsfoot. Alas, there were no definitive shots of the knife.

Thanks Bob, one of the big canals has breached too, which is pretty scary. I'm on a hill, and well away from the River Aire in Leeds - you New Worlders would probably call it a small creek or something! :D ;)

Wow, that is not good!! I love those narrow boats!
Another shot of my Waynorth lamb, because I don't like to post without showing a pic.

No, a very historic canal too. Some friends of my grandparents owned an apartment at the (mock) Tudor Packet House on the Bridgewater Canal, and it's where my parents honeymooned. I've stayed on narrow boats a few times, and even thought of buying one at one time. It's always nice to see your Waynorth Lamb Dan :)

Your GL-24 is looking good, Steve!

Got some snow on top of the ice and sleet last night.

Back in November I was diagnosed with pneumonia. After three rounds of antibiotics I was lot better, but not cured. The folks at the clinic said they didn't want to give me any more antibiotics and referred me to a pulmonologist, who can't see me until 2/27/25 😣 Although I'm not coughing to much as long as I don't exert myself, I'm short of breath and minimal exertion sets me to coughing. I've coughed enough over the last couple of months that I have an intercostal muscle (muscle around the ribs) strain on my left side so when I cough its..unpleasent. I've been trying to minimize the coughing so the muscle will heal. Walking out to mailbox and taking knife picks in 14F air set me off this morning. The snow is lot heavier and stiffer than it looks, probably due to all the sleet mixed in. Given my current infirmity shoveling is out of the question. Normally in Missouri snow melts in a couple of days, but we're not supposed to get above freezing until Friday. I started the vehicles and let them run while I was out, but I don't plan on going farther than the mailbox for immediate future 👍

Appreciate letting me whine :)

Snow lamb!

Sorry to hear that, Mike. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Certainly don’t be going out making yourself feel worse just for the sake of a knife pic! 🙂

I don't know if Barrett's mention of chippy chips has been messing with my algorithm, but I thought you folks might find this funny. How on earth the local guy has that many subscribers is a mystery to me! :D I think I might have actually seen him on this particular day  Please ignore his disgusting custard ideas!

I have a work meeting online at 6pm, but I'll hopefully be back later

I bet they fired up an extra fryer or two when they saw those two walk in. 😁 I will say that fish looks pretty good, and of course I appreciated the choice of beverage, but it was tough to watch him try to hack some of that food into shareable halves without a knife. 🙄

I’ve always thought, when watching similar videos on YouTube, how awkward it must be sitting at a table in a restaurant and talking to a camera while eating by yourself, but I think that guy’s method of carrying around your own table and chair and setting up camp in the middle of the sidewalk outside might be even worse! 🤣

It's cold here but no new snow. One of my nieces is under the snow in St Louis, the other one is in eastern Washington State waiting to go back to St Louis, and my sister and BIL are somewhere south of St Louis plotting their return to St Louis.

I was talking to my brother, who lives in St. Louis, on the phone yesterday. He said they got close to a foot, with a solid layer of ice beneath it. He doesn’t expect to leave the house for a couple days.

That Amber bone stag really looks great! 😎

Weather is single digits on the shore today. 🥶

Great pic, Bob! ☃️

The weather is warming up a bit here, calling for 21° as a high today.

That looks like a bad deal. 🙁

Your mention of New World rivers reminded me of some guys I came across on social media a few months back who had decided to try a source-to-sea canoe trip on the Mississippi River. Inexplicably, they had started their trip at the end of September, and by the end of November they were still in Minnesota. 🤣 Unsurprisingly, they abandoned the trip in early December.

HHB for me today.
