Nice one ! 👍

I bet they fired up an extra fryer or two when they saw those two walk in. 😁 I will say that fish looks pretty good, and of course I appreciated the choice of beverage, but it was tough to watch him try to hack some of that food into shareable halves without a knife. 🙄
LOL! 🤣 I bet they did Barrett! :D I've never been to that chippy. I guess if you do those sort of videos, you have to go to different places, can't just stick to your favourites :D You'd think he'd carry his own cutlery wouldn't you? He does come across as more than a bit thick! :D
I’ve always thought, when watching similar videos on YouTube, how awkward it must be sitting at a table in a restaurant and talking to a camera while eating by yourself, but I think that guy’s method of carrying around your own table and chair and setting up camp in the middle of the sidewalk outside might be even worse! 🤣
Yeah, particularly when people walk onto your videos every 5 minutes! :D At least it's a bit of exercise for him! :D
I was talking to my brother, who lives in St. Louis, on the phone yesterday. He said they got close to a foot, with a solid layer of ice beneath it. He doesn’t expect to leave the house for a couple days.
Yikes, that's bad, I've just dug out my spikes! :D Think I'll be OK once I get down my road, but it's a bad one!
:D
That looks like a bad deal. 🙁
Yeah, particularly if you're living on a boat, or head up the canal
Your mention of New World rivers reminded me of some guys I came across on social media a few months back who had decided to try a source-to-sea canoe trip on the Mississippi River. Inexplicably, they had started their trip at the end of September, and by the end of November they were still in Minnesota. 🤣 Unsurprisingly, they abandoned the trip in early December.
🤣

"I hear Amundsen is taking dogs skipper!"

"Dogs, what does he know about ice, bally Swede, we'll take ponies!"

😖

I don't know about out in the countryside, but in the city, the snow is no longer sitting prettily on the ground. It's mainly turned to ice, and with temperatures in the teens, it's not going anywhere, for now. The pavements and side-roads are treacherous, with a ream of black ice on the roads, and lumpy frozen snow on the pavements. I picked my way carefully, like I was barefoot on Brighton beach, but made it to the bus-stop in one piece. I managed to buy some sourdough, and had a chat with young Zoe, the girl who works on the market bread-stall. She was sat hunched over the fan-heater I gave them to keep warm. I waved to the fellers in the empty barber's shop, and was surprised to find that the next shop on my list was closed, as they had decided to move to the premises next door. I went for coffee in the Corn Exchange, which I really must remember to stop doing. The coffee is OK, when you eventually get it, but it's expensive, and the staff are downright lazy (too lazy to take down the Christmas tree too). As has happened before, they told me they were only serving coffee in takeaway cups, and the skinny £4 slice of stale cake came on a paper bag, instead of a plate. Ten minutes after ordering, I had to go back to the counter to get my coffee, and after paying the bill, I noticed they had added a service charge 🤔

I thought this might bring back some memories for our younger members. Not me, I dropped out after Pong! :D

I had various errands to carry out, and small bits of shopping to pick up. Since I eventually made my way to the top end of town, I thought I might call in the same chippy that Greedy Guts was at, in the video I posted the other day. However, they only had one table inside, and it was occupied. Instead I went for some Vietnamese Pho at one of my regular eating spots 😋

On the way back home, I called in at Charlie's, for another coffee, made an appointment at the docs, and picked up my prescription from the pharmacy (something which is getting so big, I'm struggling to carry it!). Glad to be back home, and I think I see a nap in my near future ;) Hope you're having a good day Guardians

Sounds like a productive day, Jack! Pho looks yummy -- might watch that GL-24 lurking in the background as he might try to eat some.

I did notice on your Corn Exchange coffee it says "Decent".:p

The decorations are pretty, though.
How can such a coffee shop survive? Or, how much are people willing to put up with?

There should be! Thanks.

It's my day off, except for Praise Team rehearsal at 8 pm, which feels like midnight, but the days are getting longer.
I was going to get some groceries, but there's nothing I need enough to drive in the snow when I don't have to. It isn't much new snow, but anything on my list can wait till tomorrow, when I have to be out anyway.

I'll walk to Praise Team and try out my new yellow vest and heavy duty extra large yaxtrax.
