Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Well we survived and everyone had fun. The “swimming lake” we went to is like a huge manmade pool in a town about 1hr 40 mins from our place.
Kids were in the water for about 7 hours straight except for when we dragged them out to reapply sunscreen. Poor buggers still got burnt.

The trip home took 2 1/2 hours, Elliot was not a happy camper! While on one of the many stops I snagged todays lamb photo

Kids also found a water scorpion. Even I thought that was neat.

Breakfast. Cooked bacon sliced thick off the piece, then the eggs in the bacon fat. 😋😋😋 Have a good weekend everyone. 😍

Great way to start the day 👍

Great picture highlighting that jigging 👍

I hope the day got better Jer, my days sometimes start like that :D I haven't poured milk in the electric toaster yet, thankfully! ;) Handsome '18

LOL! :D

Brilliant Jeremy, how's it going?

Thanks buddy, I think that was taken on the island of Fuerteventura :)

I had to call in at the library, and then had a coffee at Charlie's, before catching one of the new fancy all-electric buses (£500,000 apiece, and the poshest in the country I'm told), up the hill to affluent Chapel Allerton.

When I got off the bus, I was surprised to find that the pavements in the commercial heart of the area were covered in a thick layer of frozen snow and ice, far worse than on my side-street. The worst conditions were outside the most expensive cafes and restaurants, where I was about to spend £20 on breakfast. Food was excellent, but you'd think the local burghers could club together for some salt for the pavements

Picking my way slowly back down the hill, I called in that library there, to wish an old friend Happy New Year, then onto the post office, which was actually my reason for going out 😁😉👍

Food looks good, be careful on the ice time to be an Englishman and take that walking stick with you.

They have introduced a few ev buses here, don't look that flash and broken down a few times

Reminds me of going to Pizza Hut as a kid. I think they had Street Fighter, but the one I remember playing there most was The Simpsons arcade game.
I think the last arcade game I noticed was Space Invaders! :D
Rosewood HHB for me again today. I just recently picked up the copy of Levine’s Guide (4th Edition) in the background of this pic, something I’d been looking for (somewhat passively) for a while. I’m sure it’s a great reference tool that will live up to its reputation, it does leave a bit to be desired when it comes to Lambsfoot info — as far as I can tell, it isn’t mentioned at all!

Congratulations Barrett, that's a great find :) For me, the best thing about it is the pattern designations :) I had #2 , but then Charlie waynorth waynorth very kindly sent me a signed #4 :)

Slight correction: the Lambsfoot is, in fact, mentioned in LG-IV, if only briefly. I had skimmed the sections with Sheffield knife info, and those with blade shape charts and various pattern descriptions, as well as the Glossary and Index of Cutlery Terms in the appendix, where, of course, I had been looking under L. It’s actually found under S, paired with the entry for Sheepsfoot:

SHEEPFOOT or LAMBFOOT BLADE. A short blade with a straight cutting edge, 35-36. The lambfoot blade tapers.

The Lambsfoot deserves better! 😉😁
:)
Morning Guardians! Hope y'all have a good day. Got 3" new snow and 28°.

Cool pic Steve :)
Good Friday Guardians. Exciting news about a new Waynorth. The jigging sounds good. Harry Hotballs coming to fisticuffs and Tool Man larking about…what’s next? I don’t know…

Probably, Harry getting locked up for fighting in the street Kurt! :D Very handsome :)
Several inches of new snow last night. I haven't been off the property since last Friday. We cancelled pool for today. Old guys don't need to be out in this ;)
If I had to go somewhere, I could get out. The truck is a 4x4 and its pointed out, so no problem. The biggest hassle would be cleaning the accumulated ice/sleet/snow off.

My A. Wright has been totally neglected since receiving my GL-24. Decent walk, although not as silky as the Albers, solid snap and a pull that's a 6 or 7. I have one other Wright. A very handsome two blade jack with file work and horn handles. It won't ever be carried because the pull is a solid "10" and I don't like to fight to open my knives. This one is a good, solid knife

The cough drop supply is holding out so far
You do right to hole up Mike, looks like you had a fair old dump there 🥶 If you have a look through the Thread Index linked to in post #1, you should find some good advice on lowering the pull on that Wright  I like a stiff pull, but sometimes you need pliers to open the darn things! 🤔

I got on another of those buses going to the pub last night, and the driver corrected me - they cost nearly a £1 Million apiece!
Recycled pic to get us back to the top.
