Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I hope everyone has been having a great day :) It was lovely Spring weather here, and I got a couple of pints with Matt and Cillian

If only I had a selfie-stick, I might have got a great pic today. I was just at the bottom of one of the main streets that make up Leeds city centre, when I spotted an old nun I know. She's an African lady, and blind. She's quite jolly, and I've helped her before. She can't really see anything at all, and I could see she was disorientated. It turned out she had got off the bus at the wrong spot. I said hello, and offered to take her to the church she goes to, which was about half a mile away. I offered her my arm, but she actually took my hand, so since I was wearing my 'Keep Calm, Fix Bayonets!' T-shirt, we must have looked like an unlikely pair. I walked her through town, and told her about some of the things on the way, and the history of a couple of statues we passed. She seemed to have a lovely time, and I delivered her to the church afterwards, before going off to find Matt :)

I love this story (and when I read it to Dawn she loved it too - "Hi!" from her to you, Jack).

Guess who's carrying a GL-24 today! No wait I'll just tell you! It's me!

I thought so Jack, thanks for the confirmation.
He's grown up fast Jeff, it really doesn't seem like 2 minutes since he started school :)
Nice chilly day off. Took my son the watch the Minecraft movie. It actually wasn’t horrible. Had the GL-24 in the pocket.

The sacrifices of parenthood :D ;)
Hope you had a good day with your pals, Jack. I’m digging that cool lamb. I have my eyes peeled for one andthey don’t come up very often.
Thanks a lot pal, I consider myself very lucky to have it :)
Fine gesture on your behalf and an act of kindness from a good human being. You will be repaid 10 fold, the good Karma bus will stop and pick you up somewhere down the road. 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷

Great choice! :D
It’s great to be a Gator. This will forever be my favorite knife. As a lifelong Gator fan and alumni, it cannot be topped.

And a lamb to boot?!

One more…
Congratulations
Very nice David :)

Stunning shot Steve, enjoy the sunshine my friend :)

I must say I’m excited to get this one from Cosimo. I wanted a shadow lambsfoot from Cosimo and ended up sending him some cross cut green mountain richlite I got from Knife Handle Supply. I questioned my judgement about not getting Cosimo’s amazing jigging. The blade is RWL 34. I love it. Here comes four pictures.

Well, this was just too much for me to remain in the woodwork any longer. It's a matter of civic pride at this point. Here we go...

My maternal grandparents, die-hard University of Miami Hurricane fans, hated the University of Florida Gators from 1971 until the day they each died due to a play which has been called the "Gator Flop" and, alternately, "The Most Disrespectful Play In American College Football."

The UF defensive line literally just flopped down on the field, allowing Miami to score and thus forcing a turnover, because they were more concerned with Florida QB John Reaves breaking Jim Plunkett's NCAA all-time passing yardage record than playing an honest game of football.

Following that untoward display, the whole Gators team doubled down on their blasphemy by jumping into the fountain at the Miami Orange Bowl (I saw the Rolling Stones there in 1989 prior to its demolition - well, obviously...) The UM coach refused to shake the hand of the UF coach after the game calling the play "a bush-league stunt." Wild stuff - take a look, lest the University of Florida's Gators unabashed skullduggery be forgotten!

Here - I wrote a little ditty about it in the style of the Guy Fawkes rhyme:

Remember, remember, the 27th of November,
the Gators's discourteous flop.
I see no reason this ill-mannered treason should ever be forgot!

My grandparents could also frequently be heard referring to the Gators as "Gator Chickens" for their decision of declining to continue the series against the Hurricanes after the SEC expansion in 1988. In Miami, the decision was viewed as simple cowardice.

I love my Gator Lamb, but for nothing to do with the Florida Gators football team (I inherited a genetic bias against them 😂). Rather, it's because I spend a great deal of time in the Florida Everglades and alligators are constant companions. Love those little rippers!! 🐊

Did you notice how I paired some orange Calamondins with this lovely green knife and slip in order to create a picture dominant with the team colors of the Miami Hurricanes? Yeah, that was calculated... no blue and orange around here!!! 🤣

Make it a good one, Guardians (and don't be rooting for those Gators)!!!
