I really like that Joseph Rodgers lamb foot. Nice amber as well. My wife is crazy about amber and jewellery in general. We spent a lot of time in amber shops when we were in Denmark. Picture below is a chunk of amethyst she picked up while working on archaeology survey in Thunder Bay, and of course my first Waynorth lamb foot knife.View attachment 2878319

Coming off a few days off filled with soccer, a sleepover with about 5 hellions, track and everything else under the sun. Also had to buy a new riding mower cause mine crapped out on me . Dang those things got expensive. Back at work and got my usual Sunday HHB with me.

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a great weekend I still feel like I've spent the night in a tumble-dryer, but while I have some work to do today, and an online meeting this evening, I don't have to go to Bradford tomorrow, which is a relief. I think I'm going to be doing housework today, with some lollygaggin' on the side hopefully Wolfie's eldest lad's 16th birthday yesterday, hard to believe...With his first knife a few years back

We are drowning down here David. Rain every day. I somehow managed to get concrete poured and finished just as the rain started again but I was able to cover it.

Did you notice much of a change in the cover colour of your GL-24 while you were carrying it regularly?

I'm not sure if it was just in my head but when I carry it regularly it seems to darken.

I've carried it everyday since I got it, and it has darkened up a bit. Clean it with a little soapy water and gets back to its original shade. That's been my experience with all Micarta.

That's interesting. I've always been more into natural materials so I'm not all that familiar with how the synthetic materials work.

She's a beautiful knife either way.

Scout’s birthday was this past Thursday. It was a pretty lowkey affair this year, but we had a good day all the same. (Pics in the totin’ thread.)

Micarta will definitely dark with carry/use. I’ve found that getting any oil on it can make it darken even more. I have a couple Micarta knives that have changed drastically with a couple years’ of use (non-Lambsfoot so I won’t post ‘em here, but here’s a link to a post with some side-by-side pics.)

Great photo Dan, (I appreciate your quoting skills) I bought a few amber beads for knife fobs, but they are so small and dark, they might as well be synthetic

Thanks pal, that was actually Amos, Wolfie's lad, he's grown up a bit since then Cillian is my friend Matt's lad, who is also growing up fast, though he's a couple of years younger than Amos. It's his birthday soon too My favourite recent pic below!
