Yikes, so it is! I sold a couple knives last week and I guess all the back and forth PM’s added up! Thanks for letting me know. I’ll clean up my inbox and add you, @flatblackcapo and @Cutfinger to the map when I get home this afternoon.![]()
Congrats Rusty that's a fine looking knife.
+1 Congratulations Rusty.
That’s some very nice Rosewood there Russell!Congratulations!

The Guardians map is looking better and better: four in Europe now instead of one (if the UK is part of Europe)!
Alright, the Guardians Map is up-to-date again.
Say, @Cutfinger, that's a good looking old Checker wagon in your avatar. Never noticed it before!![]()
Nice work Barrett, thanks again
I wonder if any of our Antipodean Guardians will call in, so that there are some pins in the southern hemisphere?
Sorry, I missed this earlier. Congratulations! Fine looking knife and accessories! My prize arrived for the competition to guess the date the Guardians page would turn 500. Thank you Jack for putting the original knife up for the competition and the alternative options you listed, which I opted for. This lambsfoot has a differing kind of rosewood found at A Wrights factory. Thank you Jack also for the other goodies you sent along, most appreciated! To me the rosewood seems to have an almost teak look and feel about it, different in appearance to other rosewood offerings from A Wright, which makes for a very appealing cover. Very pleased to add this lambsfoot to my ongoing collection.
Have a good Sunday Guardians!
Russell

I should have left my two-blader alone. I'd like to see John Maleham open the main blade when the nick is covered by the pen blade.I spoke to John Maleham at Wright's about the stiff pull on the 2-blade models. He looked at me quizzically, took a couple of knives out of the store, and snapped all the blades straight open!![]()
Nice family of 3!I liked the first Battlestar Galactica because I had a thing for Maren Jensen, but I didn't like the remake. I'm paranoid enough without the enemy being among us looking just like us.
I still say that Space Above and Beyond is the best ever. Just skip the two-hour season premiere where they tell everybody's backstory in isolation, unless you're a big Ermey fan.
(Why not start it in the format it's going to be in, and let us get to know the characters as they get to know each other,
I'd like to know.)

That is a cool map, appreciate the effort you put into it. Neet to see who is where.Alright, the Guardians Map is up-to-date again.
Say, @Cutfinger, that's a good looking old Checker wagon in your avatar. Never noticed it before!
Edited to add: Just wanted to post the link to the Map again, so anyone looking for it doesn't have to go fishing around the thread. Guardians of the Lambsfoot THE MAP
You ain't just whistlin' Dixie, brother! From the last time I checked in, I think I missed about 15 pages and apparently there is a official Guardian's map!

Think I can learn to be a party animal late in life?!?...Ain't no party like a Lambsfoot party!![]()

Love the stygian ebony, Barrett!...
And a little standard Ebony Lambsfoot content for good measure.

Taylor, is that new little girl of yours making you "clean up your act" already??Jack sounds like me and you are on the same "diet" hahah
I'm with Dwight.I guess I can't complain. My wheels didn't fall off until my early 60s.No country for old men...

Sometimes your rosewood looks quite dark, John, much darker than my rosewood Union Jack. In other photos, it looks considerably lighter. A chameleon rosewood on your hands you've got!
Happy impending anniversary, Dennis, and I hope you score a lambsfoot from your bride!I'm right there with you!
My anniversary is coming up, and I gave my wife a "subtle" hint, and internet link.
Then Oklahoma City can be added!
Sorry to hear about the insurance hang-up, Dwight, although that may be preferable to my having an EKG done and having insurance refuse it after the fact....
Surgery postponed until insurance approves it.I love insurance companies.
Barrett thank you for doing the map. Very interesting and fun.

Thanks, Vince.Informative summary with interesting observations, Gary. If I don't have time to read multiple posts on the subject, I can refer to this post in a pinch.

Thanks, Dave.Gary thanks again for your dialogue it is always interesting![]()
Sounds like we use the thumb the same, but on the other side, I use only my index finger lying parallel to the blade (trying to get as much finger surface area in contact with the blade as possible)....
I guess I have the same pinching technique. The thumb kind of presses into the nail nick, and the first two fingers are positioned in a "wide stance" on the other side. A patinaed blade and dry hands help.
Pile side goodness:

Thanks for the good advice, Jack....
Thank you for your compliment GT, and for continuing this interesting discussion. Check out the index, there is a particularly good 'How to' guide by Chin regarding softening pulls

Relaxing in the Man Cave....
Impressive flock of lambsfoot knives, Randy, and it's appropriate and amazing that you have a Barlow version!
Thanks for the farm size info and the praise for my pic, David. That was taken about a year ago when I thought I noticed the horn on my Lam Jack starting to slightly shrink from the pins, bolsters, liners.Cheers GT! I think my grandad's farm at it's height was only 40 acres which then became 22ish so a lot smaller than yours. I doubt there's any farms in the UK as small as that anymore.
That's a great shot there.
Cheers John, but I'm banking on good genes. My dad could still deadlift hundred weight imperial flagstones into his 70's

My walk today....

I agree with that, John. Another thing I've noticed is that a lot of tasks just seem to take me longer than they used to, so by the time I finish some hard work, there's often not much time to "decompress"....
I know what you mean Jack. Hard work was fun when I recovered quickly, but now a full day of hard work has to be followed by a couple of days of good rest. I still love to work hard, it makes me feel accomplished, but I prefer it in much smaller doses now

10 inches seems excessive, Harry.... And I just had to use that green tractor to move 10 inches of snow ....

I often see Victorinox SAKs with "thematic" covers, like DLT's SAKs that look like WWII planes. I wonder how that happens?...
If I had more pull in the knife community, I'd try to get somebody like Rough Rider or Novelty Knives or ??? do a Sci Fi series of knives. That would be way beyond amazing!
Veni, Vidi, Kicked Butt!! (What movie is that, or a reasonable facsimile, from?)Found one... Bought it![]()
Great to see that one, @Pt-Luso !It's the only Lambsfoot I have, so, I post it once in a while...

That's what I would have guessed, so thanks for the confirmation, Vince.Ghostbusters? (Is there a prize?)
You have to realize that was a WIP (work in progress) pic. I thought I might get some flak from the carnivores here, so I took another pic after I nuked the vegetables for a while, then stirred in some sloppy joe stuff, and served it on Texas toast. Eatin' goood in the neighborhood!Where's the BEEF?
That's better. That's what I would have guessed, so thanks for the confirmation, Vince. As far as a prize goes, what do you think of my eternal gratitude?
