Yes, there used to be a thing called the McDonalds Index. They could compare the cost of things compared to inflation over time with the cost of a McDonalds burger. Doesn't work anymore, to keep the cost of their burgers down they made them smaller. A McDonalds burger is about half the size from 30 years ago. Some more useless info to clutter your brain with. Have a good week mate.
Sorry Leon, I dropped your quote earlier!

Yeah, their burgers are TINY here. I don't know how much they weigh, but I had a burger in a pub a few months back, and they were serving 3oz burgers!

I think we still have a thing called the
Retail Prices Index , though the items included have varied somewhat over the years - collar starch and cigarettes went out, and dental floss and avocados went in (just a guess!

)

We've had double figure inflation the past few years, according to the system, but in the supermarkets it was TREBLE figure inflation. I've always thought of prices in terms of a pint of beer and a loaf of bread. I can remember beer being about 13 pence a pint, but when I reached legal drinking age it was about 30p or so. I paid something like £8 a pint in London at the weekend!

That's quite a hike, even over 45 years or so

The famous benchmark, set by Harold Wilson, the British prime minister when I was a kid, was the 3 shilling (15 pence) loaf, something that was so crazy as to be ridiculous, but I pay nearly £5 for a good loaf today
Make sure you get out and see see some sun before it's gone.

Nice rosecraft.
I got a bit of it Mitch

Its been humid here today, but not too bad. I had a couple of website articles to write early on. I also designed posters for a charity event a friend is putting on, and got them printed for her. Then, after doing some more work online, I went down to the cafe for coffee, and a piece of baklava
Light Monday night dinner after a Costco run.
Nice Mitch, I had baked beans, with some sausages and hash browns for my lunch yesterday. I was reading that American baked beans are completely different, which explains why nobody wants beans on toast!
Nice to see Old Toffee Wings Jer
I suppose going that speed it makes more sense that it could cause damage like that.
Yeah, still surprised me
Dinner of Champions !

Definitely!

Champions, and those who've spent too much money on Lambsfoot knives!

Good morning Guardians. Raining every day due to a tropical depression on the east coast. Miserable. One good thing is that the temperature has dropped a bit and now it is not so sweltering. Been sharpening a few of my blades since outdoor activities are at a minimum. Senator LF knife is nice and compact and in my pocket today.
