Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Those vicarage tea parties can be pretty rough.

Speaking of religious struggles, I had to clean up some sound stuff at church this afternoon, so I did my tai chi and pa kua there while I was waiting for wireless mic 3 to recharge. No coyotes in the sanctuary or narthex.

My two pairs of jeans arrived today, a day late. They're in the wash to remove any industrial cooties.
I should be pretty well fixed for jeans for a while.

It was rainy and cool here in Minnesota today. Not the best weather for a walk, maybe, but the kids are off school for the next three days, so today was my best shot to finish up the Dakota Rail Trail.

As I expected, there were no mile marker signs past Mile 26, but according to Google Maps, the distance from the Mile 26 sign to the end of the trail is 2.8 miles, so in total today’s walk was around 5 and half miles.

This little rest area/bridge was a nice place to stop for knife pics.

I had my GL-24 with me today.

The trail enters McLeod County not too far past Mile 26. I believe the trail used to end at the county line, but at some point they extended it by a couple miles.

The last mile of the trail goes through the town of Lester Prairie, MN. No offense to anyone here from Lester Prairie (seems unlikely 😁), but it doesn’t exactly have that same quaint small town feel that New Germany had.

I did enjoy this ambulance graveyard.

To be fair, some of the more residential parts of the town were more pleasant to walk through, with some well kept green space alongside the trail.

And then, when you get to the far west side of town, the trail just ends.

So that’s that, all 28.8 miles (about 57.5 total miles walked) of the Dakota Rail Trail. Thanks for coming along with me. I didn’t exactly plan on this taking quite as long as it did, but I’m glad I finished it. Maybe next time I’ll do it on a bike… it would certainly go by faster! 😁
My friend I have REALLY enjoyed this, thank you for taking us along with you - I have loved this matey! :) 😍

Congrats on the new jeans and on the coyote-free worship space, Jer! Good to see the ebony Guardians lambsfoot!

Can't believe it's already bedtime Thursday and I haven't even reported in this week with my lambsfoot of the week.
It's from the same run as Jer's, the 2018 Guardians ebony lambsfoot - I named mine Black Jack.

One of my favorites ! πŸ˜πŸ‘

Thanks for taking us along with you Barrett, it's been very enjoyable :) Great pics my friend :) Strange how the trail ends so abruptly like that!

Thanks, Jack. It is odd how the trail just ends there, although if you look closely you can see that there’s still a rough trail that continues along the old railroad bed, which is used by snowmobiles in winter. (I also noticed as I got out toward the more rural western end of the trail that the NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES signs posted along the trail changed to NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES - EXCEPT SNOWMOBILES.)

Maiden voyage, hope the wheels stay on after I assembled it!!View attachment 3000760View attachment 3000761

Good looking bike, Bob. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about getting one myself, probably a result of 60 miles of trail walking while being constantly passed by cyclists. (β€œOn your left!”) 😁 I guess this probably isn’t a great time of year to buy a bike in Minnesota; if I got one today, I’d have a month or so to ride it, then it would sit in the garage until spring.

My friend I have REALLY enjoyed this, thank you for taking us along with you - I have loved this matey! :) 😍

Thanks, Duncan. I’m glad you enjoyed it.:thumbsup:

Old pic, but I had my Albers 2024 Guardians Lamb with me again today.

Interesting Barrett  I was having a chat with a young Florida girl in the bread shop yesterday, and I was telling her how your weather has been the past couple of years

Cool pic buddy :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone has had a good week. Mine has passed quickly. I did have work to do a couple of evenings, and I have to work on Sunday, but it has left me alone much of the week. Probably not going to be like that for the next week or two, but for now I can take it easy ;) I have to go in and see the Blood Pressure feller this morning, and then I have to do some grocery shopping. Still hoping Wolfie might get time for a coffee :) Hope you all have a good day Guardians, and that you're looking forward to the weekend. Carrying L'Ariete today :)
