Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I used my big "Copperhead" axe today, for the first time. It's about twice the size of an ordinary 3.5 pounder. Six pounds, I think. Probably not eight.

Accuracy first, velocity second, and body weight never. Leave mass to the axe head. I had to remind myself frequently, because it's been a while.

I used the 18" Black and Decker corded self-oiling chainsaw for maybe only the second time.
A couple of years ago I cut down a dead apple tree with it to give the live one more room, and this summer I took off some lower limbs of a Norway maple with something else. Yesterday and today I finally got the brush-piles into the yard waste bin. (They picked up the small stuff this morning, and I loaded the larger stuff today.) I cut the larger stuff short so I can hide it under fluffier brush, and split it small to approximate the theoretical 2" maximum diameter.
Tomorrow will be the scythe and lawnmower against the long grass where the brush pile was.

So I'm pleasantly tired.

The snow is all melted from the ground, by the way, and a few days in the forties and above are forecast. I'll see about the snowblower's readiness tomorrow.

Great capture of those colors Steve. Sweet spalted covers.👍🏻

Glad you had a positive trip Dave.

Even on a good day, the city is a crazy place. I have never been on the Brooklyn bridge, but sailed under it many times.
Bob, I’ve walked and run the BB dozens of times and even ridden across it on a bicycle a handful of times in the past 30 years of traveling up to the city for work. But last year was the first time I ever cruised under it on a boat. And then I got to do it again this summer! A totally different perspective.

I see a display of northern lights almost every night at the cabin. I sleep in a recliner by the front window with a good view. I have never successfully taken a good picture.
I really have to get off my butt and take some new pictures as this one is developing a nice patina.
