"Y'all" is common not only here in Texas, but probably throughout the Southern U.S. I thought "youse" was strictly Brooklyn and the Bronx, maybe "Joisey". I learn something everyday! (And if I forget it, I learn it anew later).

We use y’all often here in GA. I think you’uns is northern? And youse guys

I think you'uns is Appalachian. I had a friend in elementary school that used it until he eventually assimilated to y'all. His family was from east Tennessee.

I 'magine, if'n ya like!

In Pittsburgh it's yinz.

Huh, I’ve never heard of ‘yinz’ - very interesting article Rachel.

I’m reading Horace Kephart’s Our Southern Highlanders at the moment, and the Scots-Irish Appalachians definitely use ‘you’uns’ in that, like Jathes said.

Would love to visit this Forest Arboretum. Great pic!

Well, you know I’d be glad to show you around if you ever visit this part of the world.

In the meantime, I’ll work on building up a few more pics of that area, so we can explore it vicariously through photos.:)

Here’s a couple of old ones taken there (not showing much of the trees unfortunately).

Good evening all... I have been admiring the many gorgeous knives in this thread for long enough. It would be greatly appreciated if someone would be so kind to send me a PM with advice on the best way/place to acquire my first lambsfoot. I really like the knives with the "Real Lamb Foot" on the blade. I admittedly haven't read all 598 pages but assume that was a forum group buy? If so are there any more of these in the making?

Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful pictures/stories.

Done, my friend - thanks for keeping the commercial discussion offline. Best of luck, and welcome!

Curse of the Lambsfoot

It was a dark and stormy night. Alas the next morning, work will still needed to be done. As I choose the pocket cutlery to carry with me, the lambsfoot once again will go into my front left pocket, steadily taking place of other edc knives that have been put away since it’s arrival. It has also replaced my 30+ year worry stone. My bank account has a surprisingly positive balance, as I find that looking at other knives just doesn’t trigger any buying impulse. I do enjoy other knives I have, and I carry more than one at a time, but the lambsfoot is getting the most use by far. Talk about traditional, an old school pattern for certain. When I first got it I wasn’t that thrilled about it. But I decided to give it a fair chance. After I carried it that first week, we have been inseparable ever since. Is it a blessing, or a curse?
Yes it is .

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger my friend . After last night and this morning , the snow on top of our patio table measured 18 & 1/2 inches . And tomorrows temperatures will be dropping like a rock from the current 4 F to -20 some F .

Harry

Good luck for those low temperatures Harry, glad it doesn’t get that cold here in eastern PA.

Jack, I just want to take a moment to say, "Thank you and congrats." This thread is phenomenal in its knowledge, reach, exposure, and rapidity. You're an incredible ambassador for the humble lambsfoot.

As far as regional dialects for addressing multiples: I felt so bad for the poor girl working the taps at the brewery I went to in Nova Scotia last year. A southern Louisiana boy asking, "Is the hefeweizen y'all's?" was more than the ol' girl could process before I recognized my imbibing had reverted me to my roots.

Alright, I think I have everyone who's given me their info so far added to THE MAP. If I've missed anyone who requested to be added, please let me know. And if you haven't yet requested to be added and you want your pin on there, just let me know where to put it and I'll add you!
Another add for you, please btb01 btb01 . Coarsegold, CA - zip 93614

Heck, we say "y'all" up here in Minnesota, too! (Of course, when I say "we," I mean "I," and I've only lived here a year, and spent the first few decades of my life in Arkansas. :D)

Morning Guardians, thanks for all the kind words, well-wishes, and for the gorgeous pics. I'll try to catch up properly when I get back :)

I would guess Jack Black Jack Black will send you a PM soon. He's probably asleep right now!

Thanks for the consideration Vince, I was up answering emails until after 2am, with a 7am start

Harry, we do get those temps and snow falls, but not frequently. As I said Colorado's weather changes quickly and it varies greatly. I'm at 6243 feet above sea level, the high plains east of Denver. Wind is the big factor and blows the snow into drifts as shown in my pics. This morning it's 10 degrees Fahrenheit. You stay warm and dry!

My lambsfoot is developing some, a little, patina from a few days use. I tried to catch it in this photo. Preston

I give up. How did you guys get so far ahead of me?
I've read that one a few times.
I love Big Brother. But that's newspeak! ;)
And "double-think"(I'll be corrected if wrong). Double-think worries me more, though newspeak seems to be happening by itself.
I read the book once in junior high. I don't think I want to read it again.

I'v seen it a couple of times. I think it's called "snow." Wish we had some. Had to suffer yesterday in 65 degree F weather, sitting on a back porch on a canal on Padre Island, wearing a short-sleeved guayabera shirt, smoking cigars and drinking bourbon. Boy, it was miserable! ;)
I realize I don't take many outdoor shots. It's the Pre-Raphaelite in me. I can worship nature just fine from my north-facing atelier.
We're in for a couple of days with highs around 0*F, but well above freezing on Saturday. Winter is on the ropes!

Now I'm out of snow pictures.
