Good morning Guardians, quiet here, is everyone over in the KOTY thread?! My internet connection is still bad today, not sure what is going on, it's very frustrating I hope everyone had a good week, and that your weekend is full of excitement. With Christmas approaching there can be a lot on, I ended up double-booked for something tomorrow unfortunately. I have an online meeting this afternoon, and am hoping to finally get some cards written! I still have L'Ariete in my pocket Have a great day Guardians

It snowed again. Probably about two inches, and not worth putting in earplugs; I'll see how it goes with the old-fashioned way.

On the other hand, I'm past the age where I have to prove I can still do it the old fashioned way, and the earplug route is faster.

Interesting Barrett, I thought they didn't advertise it anymore, but what do I know, I don't even watch TV!

We stream just about everything we watch these days, and haven’t had regular cable or satellite TV for years, so we don’t see that many regular TV ads anymore. (Not that they don’t find other ways of shoving ads in our faces every day.)

Hope everyone’s weekend is off to a good start! It’s cold here in Minnesota (big surprise, I know). Supposed to get all the way up to 1°F today, then down to -14°F overnight tonight. And it’s only December!

Last night we went to see The Muppet Christmas Carol at the Minnesota Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis. All of the music for the film was played by the live orchestra. I had seen this kind of performance advertised before (usually for a Harry Potter film or something similar), but this was the first one we’d ever attended. It was great!

Since we were at the orchestra, I figured I had to go with a fancy Lambsfoot.

Hope everyone’s weekend is off to a good start! It’s cold here in Minnesota (big surprise, I know). Supposed to get all the way up to 1°F today, then down to -14°F overnight tonight. And it’s only December!

Last night we went to see The Muppet Christmas Carol at the Minnesota Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis. All of the music for the film was played by the live orchestra. I had seen this kind of performance advertised before (usually for a Harry Potter film or something similar), but this was the first one we’d ever attended. It was great!

Since we were at the orchestra, I figured I had to go with a fancy Lambsfoot.

The evening " sounds " like a wonderful time.

We stream just about everything we watch these days, and haven’t had regular cable or satellite TV for years, so we don’t see that many regular TV ads anymore. (Not that they don’t find other ways of shoving ads in our faces every day.)

Seeing them at the cinema always comes as a shock to me! I buy enough junk without advertising!

I hope everyone has had a better day than me Last night, I agreed to give up my Saturday to take part in a "really, really important" online meeting at 2pm, which cut my day in two. The subject was indeed important, but I missed the meeting because of the individual administering it, which was both frustrating, and very annoying. I'm not really satisfied with the apology I've received either

In other news, I'm trying to clear out a few things, and since I had a spare Feurhand storm lantern, I'd picked up in the market a while back, I offered it to a friend, who happily snapped it up. Then I discovered that, at the least I'm going to have to fit a new wick, and quite possibly a whole new burner unit, both of which are priced exploitatively! Wish I could bring myself to just throw stuff in the bin, like normal people!

I'm hoping that a glass of wine, and a movie will distract me enough from this afternoon's work issues, for me to get some sleep without punching the pillow

I did have some luck at the antiquing. See good old fixed blades or newest addition thread.

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'll be calling in at a friend's Christmas Party today. It'll be kid-orientated, and only lasts a couple of hours.
