Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Excuse my absence but had so much on, and has been so hot here. Terrible Bushfires which have destroyed so much bush, farmland and towns. Got some friends who were surrounded by horrific fires but with the help of firey's and a lot of good luck escaped major damage but many didn't. Hope everyone is well. 🤠

Happy Saturday, Guardians. I recieved two wonderful boxes in the mail from two Guardians and I just have to show my appreciation for the thoughtful gestures.

First one that showed up was this amazing Gerstner knife Chest from Rufus1949 Rufus1949 What an amazing item. Blown away by the craftsmanship. These will house my lambs. Thank you so much, Bob.

Next was a tidy little package from England filled with treasure. Jack Black Jack Black sent me a pipe smoker’s delight box. In it is one of my very favorite blends not sold here in the US, a lovely Rodgers pipe tool, a cool old school wick lighter, and a nice pipe tobacco bag. These will be put to use and cherished. HHBs were not in the package 😁. Thank you, Jack.

I’ll be carrying the stag HHB today.
What awesome people here in the Guardians!
Both Bob and Jack are just salts of the Earth and good Humans, so too is Paul the recipient here - what a great post to read to make you feel good to see people looking after each other!
:)

Happy New Year, folks.

Oh man! Australian Bushfires are terrible- the loss of such an array of beautiful life in the cruelest of ways 😢
I'm glad your friends managed to survive thanks to those amazing Fire-fighters!

Good morning Guardians, I had arranged to meet Wolfie and Brother Tony for a pint yesterday, and Matt decided to come along too, but first we had to call in at his father's property, which was nearby. His dad passed away over a year ago, leaving a will, and Matt is the only heir and beneficiary. His finances were in good order, and everything is above board, but they are still sorting the matter out. Matt's dad owned an apartment in a place for seniors, but there are still bills to pay, not least £10,000 a year in service charges, and Matt can't use the place, or take anything in or out, while everything is settled. His parents were long-divorced, and Matt had told his mother she could move into the apartment, to be nearer the grandkids, but she still hasn't been able to do so. So, once a month, he calls in to run the taps for a bit, and make sure everything is OK. It didn't take us long, and we headed to the pub afterwards, and had a couple of pints before Wolfie and Brother Tony arrived. It turned out it was Brother Tony's 49th birthday, which he'd failed to tell us about. Fortunately, I had a gift for him anyway. Some other friends arrived, and it turned into quite a party. After 7 pints, me and Matt got a taxi, and I was looking forward to hitting the sofa. Then, I made one of the stupidest mistakes I've ever made in my life! Checking my phone, I had a request to write a press release, and accepted! 😖 What usually takes me 30-45 minutes took HOURS, and was a nightmare! 😱 What a fool! I hope everyone else had a good weekend, with no stupid clangers, and that your week gets off to a roaring start. It rained all day yesterday, but looks like that has stopped for now, though it's gloomy and overcast. I don't have to go anywhere until later, so I'm not too bothered ;) Have a good day Guardians

It sounds like estate settlement there is as bad as it is here. Probate can take an eternity even when the deceased had everything in order.

The rest of our recent snow should melt in the next couple of days, then Winter will be back for a while.

Yes, I had no idea, coming from a long line of paupers  I have given my close friends sets of keys, and told them to get what they can out of my place before I'm cold! ;)
