Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

A new arrival! :) Generous Bob has struck again! Many thanks Bob, that was very kind of you my friend :) It's an interesting material, and a good project :)

I thought of using a resin/coal material for covers, and even bought a few samples of existing products produced by a small collective of former Yorkshire miners (a few of you got 'fairy doors' as a result). They were a difficult bunch though, and I really didn't want to work with them (they didn't last long)

Congratulations Jack on receiving that beauty, That's so Generous of Bob!

I got the memo late. Busy getting a large needle in shoulder joint.View attachment 3114279
Great GL and I hope the Shoulder is ok Bob!

Do I recall someone reaching out about the ecotrib arriving in rough shape? What was the outcome? My show side isn't too bad, but the pile side is pretty rough and there's a larger than average gap. Not sure how likely they are to do anything w it since it was intl shipping.

Thanks Duncan, just old age and body abuse.

Thanks Duncan, it certainly is 🙂👍

I rarely look for gaps, but that is a pretty big one isn't it? 🙁 I doubt this company/charity have any experience with cutlery, but have put their faith in Wright's to be competent manufacturers.

If it was just the gap I'd probably look past it, but the selling point/price jump (I thought) was the recovered plastic waste. Just seems like there wasn't a huge amount of care put into this specific knife. I've seen some nice examples from others, it's what spurred me into picking one up to try. I think this was just a "miss".

Looks like I'm the only one carrying my GL-24 today...

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

That was me, I reached out to them directly via their support email address.
It's on their website, but feel free to DM me and I'll pass it along.

They were extremely helpful and promptly sent me a replacement that was much better.
I'm in the US and had the same concern about the international shipping.

Aged to perfection Tyson.😍
Thanks, Bob! My GL-24 gets a lot of carry and use, and has darkened considerably since it was first drafted into use. Today is the first time I've given the scales a light scrub with a cloth and soapy water. I've had to clean it before, but much more gently. Doing that lightened it up a bit, but is still much more brown instead of the butterscotch blonde it was when it first showed up. I really like how micarta patinas.

Cool I did end up reaching out on their website and kept the packaging. Hopefully I can get a similar swap out. Thanks

Since the micarta was sourced from elevator parts, I play some elevator music for it occassionally.😵‍💫

Memo received ;)

Hope the shot helps, Bob 🤞

Too bad about the QC problems with the ghost net knives. I considered one, but given Wright's spotty QC, decided I didn't want to roll the dice. Glad to hear the Eco people are taking care of y'all. Those of you in the USA, I am curious - were there any tariff/duty difficulties?

P.S. Mine seems to like bluegrass 🪕

It's sad they have lost touch with the concept of craftsmanship Jack.
Yes, very sad Bob :(

Thanks Mitch, all is good. Severe arthritis.
Sorry to hear that Bob, it gets us all :(

They sound like good people, but they're not going to make any money trusting Wright's to perform QC, or trusting their word that they have 🤨 They need to check every knife over carefully before shipping, and frankly, in my experience, they should find another firm :(
I can get onboard with GL-24 Day!

I can't seem to see your pic for some reason Tyson :(

This is definitely the most interesting Micarta I've had

Nice pic  When I've sent items to the US recently, I've ended up paying US tariffs at this end! 😖
Afternoon Guardians! Sunny and cool again today. Didn't get the GL-24 memo.
