Thanks Barrett. Some great lambs going in those slips, what-a-group!
Good to hear things have picked up a little at the market! Hopefully that’ll keep up as the weather gets nicer.
You mean it’s not current 450°F where you are?Good to see you’re GL-24.
Your Hartshead is looking good, Charlie! My grandpa was a big turquoise guy. Unfortunately I don’t know what ever happened to all that he had.
Jeremy does great work! This slip pulls double duty for both of my Cosimo Lambs.

He also made the slip for my Rhidian What-A-Lamb, which turned out perfect!

The last photo from this batch.
Too bad I don't have a red lambsfoot for Saint David's Day. Maybe I'll paint one for next year.
I'll raise the flag when I get back from work. Just an all-store meeting from 6-8.

One of the best!Happy Saturday to all you Guardians!, I am recuperating nicely from another procedure. Geez, getting older isn't for cowards. Sorry for being absent for so long. But I have been catching up with this discussion group. Thought I would post a photo of my favorite piece of cutlery.

Good morning Guardians, please excuse a few typos from when I posted last night, I can't even remember doing so (though I forget things all the time)! Wolfie won his fight, and it was the best of the night I think. All started well with the event, despite a rather stupid starting time of 4pm, in a venue with no food, and the first 2 fights went well, with one of them an excellent contest. As we prepared for the 3rd fight, things ground to a halt though, because several of the travelling boxers were 'stuck in trafffic'!They were only travelling 50 miles, and should have already been there an hour and a half by this point!
To compound the disruption, there was no announcement, or substitute entertainment, (the MC was absolutely useless), and this dragged on for more than an hour, before the card was changed. Two more fights followed, one of which ended halfway through the first round, and then there was another long gap, of at least half an hour, before the fights started again. Half the audience had called it a night by this point!
Wolfie's contest was the second of the next bouts, and it was a great fight. He was pitted against the only fighter he's lost to in the past, in his second professional fight, a few years ago. In that fight, the opposing fighter accidentally punched Wolfie in the back of the head, which left him stunned, and the referee stopped the fight. I'm hoping I can get hold of a video later, so you can see last night's contest, but Wolfie was victorious

After Wolfie's fight though, there were only 3 more bouts, and the evening ended fairly abruptly, as people rushed off to find food and relieve babysitters, having been there 2 hours longer than expected, and in many cases having drunk a lot more than anticipated, on empty stomachs. I hope Wolfie retires soon, so that I can find something else to do with my money!
I hope everyone else is having a good weekend, and that you have (or had) a relaxing Sunday

Congrats to Wolfie. What no beer or fish and chips? LOL!Great Waboom, Jack, and I really like the Mr. T in your Pocket device. I had a similar thing about 10 years ago to teach duck and goose calls with different buttons for the different calls. When you pressed a button, it announced which call was coming, and then the call itself. My little 5 yr old granddaughter got a hold of it and couldn't stop pressing the buttons, she was having a meltdown it was so much fun. She wouldn't wait for the call itself, so with rapidly pressing buttons it sounded like, "double cluck, doub, double, come back, feeding, feed, double, hail call, doub . . . " The whole family was cracking up watching her.
Thanks Steve, Wolfie said he'd post the video to YouTube later this afternoonLook forward to seeing the video
Nice pic of Waboom !
Thanks a lot Bob, there was plenty of Guinness, but nothing to eat unfortunatelyCongrats to Wolfie. What no beer or fish and chips? That's sacrilegious!!
Enjoy the rest of your day Jack.

I am admittedly pretty ignorant on wine but that barbecue looks great. Seems like a fun time!Cool Waboom, Jack! And congratulations to Wolfe. What a fantastic result and a fine Saturday for you both. We had strikingly different days yesterday! First things first: Here’s a rerun favorite photo that is relevant to the rest of my story from Saturday:View attachment 3120239
As I mentioned, I had the good fortune of being invited to a “Bordeaux Fete” tasting party yesterday yesterday in Dallas. Many of the legendary French wine makers, execs / owners or their reps were visiting Dallas from Bordeaux. The lure to get them here was a pairing challenge with food from some of the best barbecue restaurants in Texas. They were pouring some of the greatest wines ever produced.
My friend and client who is the Barbecue Editor of Texas Monthly magazine was tasked with organizing the lineup of restaurants and pitmasters. How could I do anything but offer to assist and share in the fun? It was a hell of a party. Totally overwhelming lineup: one unicorn wine after the next! I took lots of pictures; most without knives. None with a lamb, sadly! Less as the drinking accelerated![]()
