Majestic.
Well told story, Dwight, mine wasn't delivered...I would have liked to have the excitement, even if it had to be repelled.... So Cherri (my wife) goes into town this morning to run errands (one of which is the post office to get mail). I am in the recliner minding my own business when she texts me a photo of a package. It's just one corner of the box and it says...from... "J BACK". I rise... I am YeeeeHawwwInggg!!! and dancing a jig (carefully).
Now... the fact that the name is spelled B-A-C-K instead of our beloved B-L-A-C-K is apparently of no consequence to either of us. For you see - The mind is a terrible thing. - We both saw a "J" and a "B A C K" and fiction magically became reality (or vice versa). Never mind the box was a "flat-rate" priority USPS box (but that's on her).
When she entered the room triumphantly passing the treasure to me I took the package with accelerated heart rate. The sudden rush of endorphins had ushered me into a momentary euphoria. The package didn't look right. It's too thin. From somewhere far away a feeble voice said in a feathery light whisper... "look at the box"... "look at the name"... "this is not what it seems"... "it's a trick, a terrible cruel trick... you fool..."
But it was too late. I was all in. Ticket purchased. Train boarded. Holding the USPS flat rate priority box I remained convinced it was from Leeds. My steeled will would make it so...
That AC of yours certainly has exceptional stagJack, my apologies! I read this before but it went straight over my head! That would indeed be quite the spoiler!
I’m sure they are terrific! They are all unique and beautiful!
Jack and Dwight, I thank you both for your comments on my AC!I personally wouldn’t feel right saying it was the best of the lot! But your words mean a lot to me. I am extremely pleased with it as it is a beautiful knife!

Congratulations on receiving your Ironwood Guardian Lambsfoot! It's a good looking specimen. This Texan also welcomed his girl home today (maybe you will too, Vince)! Thanks a bunchJack Black ! Now I was supposed to have a stern talk with her for lollygaggin' around Chi-town but... anyway. Here's a not-too-good-picture on a very gloomy day.

Nice photo and good looking Lambsfoot, that Ironwood has a great pattern.I know which one is my lambsfoot, but I don't know how to mark it. Obviously download the picture but then what do I do? (It's actually the one directly above and to the left of Tmd_87's).
Cheers!

Cheers, indeed! Quite lovely, absolute eye catcher! Perfect pairing in the Refreshment department! Thanks Dwight, and another great shot yourself, you have good skills with a camera. Hope you don't have any more postal upsets this weekend
Your welcome
Thank you. And another excellent shot yourself. I'm sure were all hoping to see an ironwood and briar wood double act shortly
Thanks Harry, that's really interesting. In fact I think you were one of the folks I was talking tractors to a few weeks ago on this very thread. A long way to go for business, I hope we treated you well
Thanks Jack, that's really interesting, and great directions to. My climbing days are unfortunately over but I'm sure I could manage a scramble up but I don't think I'd bivi in it.
Despite all my walking, the only only outdoor guide I own of anywhere is the Peak District pubs walk guide so that's why I don't have any climbing guides

LOL thanks bud! Say... what part of NM are you from? I was born in eastern but lived north & south too. Your post the other day about your dad's (granddad?) saddle rifle brought back memories. My dad was a great shot. My granddad was better. He could knock an antelope down from several hundred yards on the run.Man, somehow I missed this one!
What a beauty!! Love the darkness of it, premo example!
Ouch! That hurts my Red River companion!

Here was an elk my dad killed up there a fews years ago, jusr ignore the stuff hanging off it. Field dressed almost 850 lbs.
From Silver City, in the SW part of the state. Did a lot of hunting and fishing up and around the Gila wilderness and river. Have a small plot of land, hope to move back some day.
