Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

You know it's going to be a good day if when you go to the post box and you have a package from Leeds. :D:cool::thumbsup: Thank you Jack for my new lambsfoot, folding rule, patch and pin. You are one of the most generous men I have had the privilege to know.

I'm glad it arrived Randy :) I have been so busy recently, I've not had much of a chance to send out many gifts, but hope to be able to make up for that soon. You are very kind my friend :) You should find your new Lambsfoot here somewhere ;)

Hope you enjoyed it, Jack.

...

Congratulation, Randy.
Jack is a generous man indeed!

I did thanks John, costs as much as a bottle of wine here, but it's a tasty beverage :) Thank you for the kind words my friend :)

Carl most definitely. Buzzbait probably. But pull strength is subjective. My only lambsfoot, a small rosewood, is a good representative of the breed. After using her for a bit, most of my other knives seem softly sprung. Nevertheless I am still able to pinch her open.

These knives are known for having strong pulls. If a person doesn't like that, he should stay away. Just as I refrain from buying friction folders like higonokamis and Opinels.

Good perspective Christian, though I don't think these knives deserve a reputation as "nail-breakers"

Thanks Vince :)

Nice knives as usual fellas. Here to a good weekend!
Mines starting to break in nicely, and even a wee bit of patina forming.
I've got to get myself a stag soon, its suits the pattern well.

That's looking very nice :)

Hey, I looked up "knife" in the dictionary, and look what I found:

Cool composition Vince, and a lovely crisp pic, which shows your Lambsfoot blade off to perfection :)

I've got wood and horn and stag. No bone, yet. I think a lambsfoot would look good in smooth white bone, but I think that about most patterns.

A fine family photo Rachel :) I agree with you about the smooth bone

Morning folks, I'm just calling in quickly as I'm about to depart for a trip to York. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Stag for Saturday ;)

Nice to have those to chose from, variety is the spice of life!

I like the Spyderco Sharpmaker which is like the Lansky...nice family there!

Thanks! Several others recommended the Sharpmaker, but I went with the Lansky as it's half the price. If it doesn't work out I'll get a Sharpmaker.

Looks like your '19 has been getting plenty of use :)

Always... :)

"A family photo"……. I'm a knife newbie...… I came upon the BF site about a year ago during a search for something on the internet..….(I bet other old guys like me will remember when you used to use the "Thomas Register" to find things)...…. Anyway, I bought a knife around that time which started me down the proverbial rabbit hole...…… One very pleasant arm of the hobby is the Lambsfoot group & their thread dealing with that specific knife...…… Being an inquisitive cuss I acquired a Lambsfoot knife direct from Sheffield..... Then another...…..Then another..... And another...…… And now the 2019 Lambsfoot….. So I thought I'd post a family photo for Lambsfoot aficionados to enjoy...…... View attachment 1087143

Two very handsome herds there folks

I'm glad you told me what that was. I was thinking, "What's that Englishman eating now?" :D

And my first thought was "I didn't know they made round corned beef..." :D

What's lettuce? Never heard of the stuff :D

Hope everyone has a nice weekend planned.

I like the smooth white bone idea also. There are just to many knives and so little time! Have a good trip Jack...thanks for all you have done and will do.

I use the Sharpmaker quite a bit, mostly to touch up a blade. I have the Edge Pro and a Norton course/fine stone but lately I've been using the DTM diamond stones, they cut very well.. I like motion of the process. It's the way I started and I keep going back to it.
