Great flock, r8shell. You've got your bases covered with that group.

Morning folks, I'm just calling in quickly as I'm about to depart for a trip to York. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Stag for Saturday ;)

I loved Ovaltine as a kid. Have a safe trip, Jack.

What a great picture, David. So much history and it looks so peaceful.

I'm enjoying the art, Dave.

Looks cold out there, Dwight. Put a sweater on!

Mirror Mirror on the wall... Great effect in that photo, Alan.

Great prop, is that your dream car? Fast cars and sharp knives... Living dangerously. :)

A fine family photo Rachel :) I agree with you about the smooth bone

Nice pic Rachel :) No sunshine here today, hope it stops raining at some point :(
Thank you. That smooth bone is a looker!
I hate to complain about good weather, but why does it always come during the SXSW convention, so all the Californians think it's always like this?
Thanks! Several others recommended the Sharpmaker, but I went with the Lansky as it's half the price. If it doesn't work out I'll get a Sharpmaker.
The main advantage to the Sharpmaker is that you are less likely to round the tip of the blade by using the flat sides of the rods. You can do just fine with the Lansky, just stop a bit short, don't run the tip off the rod.
Two very handsome herds there folks

That's a great picture of your flock...nice patina on the older ones too.

Great flock, r8shell. You've got your bases covered with that group.
Thank you. Just when I think, "I've got a full set, no need to look for more." I see something like Jack's smooth bone version and think, "Well...if the next Guardian's knife is like that..." ;)
I wouldn't blame Jack if he didn't want to go through all the trouble of doing another Guardian's knife, but a year goes by and one forgets the pain. That's why women ever have more than one child.:D:p

And my first thought was "I didn't know they made round corned beef..." :D

:D

Always... :)

Two fantastic pics my friend :)

What a cool photo David there's so much history  whereas over here I think this is the oldest building we have is the NWMP barracks :)

Cool building Dave

Good Morning Jack and fellow Guardians! :D This is my AC posing with a painting of Borthwick Castle Scotland.

Great pic my friend :)

Beautiful atmospheric pic Dwight

Well done Alan, I don't think anyone has done that in this thread before, makes for an excellent pic my friend :)

I like the smooth white bone idea also. There are just to many knives and so little time! Have a good trip Jack...thanks for all you have done and will do.

I use the Sharpmaker quite a bit, mostly to touch up a blade. I have the Edge Pro and a Norton course/fine stone but lately I've been using the DTM diamond stones, they cut very well.. I like motion of the process. It's the way I started and I keep going back to it.

How old is that building?

That AC is so good looking, great photo!

An excellent photo again Dwight, have a great day.

Neat photo, well done.
Hope your Saturday is restful and a relaxed one Guardians.

Thank you very much Preston, my trip was OK, but the weather was against me. I wasn't 100 yards from home when it started raining, and on the way to York, it came down really heavy, sleet, rain, and a strong wind. Now I'm back home, the sun has come out of course

That is a very cool pic  :)

Morning Preston. :D The NWMP Barracks, Main Street, built in 1893, served until 1929 as the lodgings, office, and jail for the police officers of Canmore.

Blimey, the stingy buggers here would have got about another 500 years use out of that place Dave! :D Is that really the oldest building in Canmore? My house is older than that, and it's not considered particularly old here. Heck, I've just been to the Yorkshire Museum in York, and they'll let you walk on the Roman mosaics as long as you take your shoes off! :D

Have a great Saturday Guardians! :)

You too Ron, stunning pic of your Midnight Special pal

I loved Ovaltine as a kid. Have a safe trip, Jack.

Me too John :) I have had those tablets! :D They sold them in pharmacies when I was a kid, they were a bit old-fashioned, even then. I'm not sure there was much too them really :D

Wow, you Guardians are really posting some amazing pics, well done folks :) As well as my AC, I ended up taking Lucy to York with me, as she had stowed away in my pocket  I think she (or I) may have been cursed by the BFO though! The rain had just dropped to a drizzle, and the sun was starting to poke through the clouds, when I took this pic in front of the ruins of St Mary's Abbey (goes back to about 1974 ;) ). I was just taking a second pic, when a gust of wind, blew Lucy from her four foot high perch onto the stone flags below! But Lucy fell like a cat (or bat!), and survived without so much as a blemish! Phew! Perhaps she's still undead after all! o_O :D

I think they must stay up late in York these days, because barely anything is open before 10.00am! o_O Had to walk right across the city to get a cup of coffee!

There’s nothing wrong with your photo my friend! There’s no way a Lambsfoot can look like :poop:!

Well said Ron

Thank you. That smooth bone is a looker!

Thanks mate :) LOL! :D  Good tip about the Lansky Rachel, I try not to run the tips of my knife off the Sharpmaker 'rods' too, but I suspect that's harder with round rods  There's always one more isn't there ;) You are right! :D Hopefully, I can deliver at least one more Guardians Lambsfoot. I like the idea of smooth white camel bone, and think Wright's may have a little familiarity with it. Hoping to do something else a bit special before then though ;)

Beautiful atmospheric pic Dwight
Thank you Jack. I'll bet you just about had a heart attack when Lucy plunged to the stones below! Glad to hear no damage done.

This is very exciting to hear! :D
