Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Stay away from the crack, Jack! Very addictive.
;)

Yes indeed my friend, it has such a stigma that my Irish cousins, having pinched the word from Yorkshire (or thereabouts ;) ), have had to start spelling it differently (to the consternation of genuine Irish scholars)! :D

Scary stuff! :D

Thanks, Jack. Have a great time tonight. Maybe take a nap before hand. ;)

Thanks mate, had a great time, four afternoon cups of coffee and some early evening alcohol worked a charm ;) :D

Awesome pic Kevin  I bumped into this feller today, with a bike from the 1920's. Thought you'd like the pics

Fantastic stuff :) I have never seen a live game of baseball, but I love the iconic status the game has in US culture, and I am tossing the baseball @btb01 very kindly gave me as I type. Enjoy folks :) Brilliant pic OG

Jack Black Jack Black - Bah goom, can’t wait to hear more details of your adventure, when you’re better rested. Love the knife and illustration.

Thanks buddy :)

Found this Lamb, dirt cheap. It had the look I love with the older ones. Has a few issues, but plenty of life left. The Tang is marked Hale Forge, Sheffield. Fearless Leader and resident Sheffield Cutlery Expert, Jack Black Jack Black may be able to provide more details. I’ve already named it...Gus.

Wow Harvey, fantastic find! I think that is Hale Brothers, rather than Hale Forge, I'll feed you back some info tomorrow. Love those triple rat-tail bolsters, all Sheffield bolsters like that seem to be EXACTLY the same :) We'll have to have them on a Guardians knife at some point  Incredible Stag Bone too, very nice find my friend, great pics

Thanks for your encouragement, Jack & Vince & José. :)

Where've ya been ya waster?! ;) :D

Thank you Jack. Hope you can get some rest. I struggle with the same problem.

Thanks Dwight, just about everyone I've spoken to today had the same problem last night, don't know what that was about? Superb pic my friend :)

Had a lovely evening, and a very pleasant meal :) It's my birthday this weekend (yep folks, 21 again) I haven't had anything stronger than a glass of wine so far all year, but thought I would treat myself to a hefty Rusty Nail this evening ;)

By chance, this pewter enhanced glass, a gift from a friend a couple of Xmas's ago, was manufactured in the very same building where, in 1913, Harry Brearley invented stainless steel :)

Wow! Just...wow!

That guy made my ears hurt

I've never been to a live Cricket match, either :)
There's really quite a bit of strategy to the game depending on the circumstances, but it still basically gets down to the players' athletic ability to execute
the directions that come from the dugout.

You're not alone there OG! I don't recommend watching cricket, what a boring game! Baseball appeals much more

Co-là-breith dòigheil dhut Jack agus dram beag de Drambuie agad :D Have a happy birthday Jack and have a wee dram of Drambuie :p

Thank you Dave, just a dram ;)

Hey folks I've been away for a bit I got sick spent 9 days in the hospital got back home and been going for treatments so not much time spent on here. Much better now so I'm back.
Some time back I ordered a Rodgers lambsfoot barlow but what I received was a clip point. The dealer told me to keep the clip point and he would send the correct knife no charged and was very nice about it. I noticed the clip had extremely poor fit and finish and thought it was junk. The dealer did what he said and sent the lambsfoot so I opened the box and out came my Rodgers lambsfoot problem is it's so poorly constructed I would be afraid to use the knife which is a shame because at first glance she's a beauty. The tang is to me just plain weird there is a bad gap on the spine tried too capture in these pics. I would steer clear of the new Rodgers knives.

That knife is an abomination. I'll certainly heed your warning. Thank you.
I'm very glad to hear of your successful recovery and I sincerely hope you continue to experience good health in the future.

Good to see you back, Randy. Will pray for your recovery.
Thanks for the warning. Hope you didn't pay too much. Maybe you should just ask for your money back.

r redden r redden - Sorry to hear you've been in hospital, hope you're on the mend, I have a Barlow lambsfoot from Rodgers in Buffalo and its much better than that. Mine also seems rather heavier or thicker?
Most knives put out by the Eggington group are at least acceptable, my complaint is that all their Lambfoot blades are a bit pointy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACK!!! I hope it's one of your best ever my friend the 21st is special however didn't realize you are that much older than me. :D:D

That knife is junk, I'm glad Jack warned me about them before I ordered one.

You are right she's junk alright I am not very sane when it comes to knives, when a pattern appeals to me I get crazy searching them out of course in this case it's the utility of the blade shape that appeals to me so much. I have saw a lambsfoot Senator pattern that I like but right now I'm a bit gun shy from this knife and probably not going to be ordering anymore until I get a better handle on my knowledge of them.

Shorty will be devastated Preston! ;) :D Hope you have a great day :) Love that pic

Fabulous weather here today, but I barely slept a wink last night and am feeling shattered. Just dosing up on coffee before heading out again. Going out for dinner this evening at a local Mexican place, so I'll toast you all with a few margaritas if I can keep my head off the table! ;) Thought I'd take my AC out with me for the evening. Hope everyone is having a great day :)

Of course you'd catch that...shorty, when I meant shortly...nothing gets by you Jack. That'a a good thing. AC is looking quite lovely, a real stand out from the flock!
Yes, I'm so glad, nice company for your Lamb Foot. Rockies bested the Marlins in Florida!

That is a fantastic find Harvey, I love it, so much character and stag to die for!
I've apparently taken on the role of "time traveler" in this thread, taking you all back with me to the distant past (in terms of pages). I think the quotes below all appeared early this week.

:D Speaking of which, my lambsfoot this week is Cracker Jack, my AC stag:

Love Cracker Jack and crackerjacks, great picture!
Never have been a fan of the DH but I hope your team does well this season

Your memory is right on. And if my memory is right, the first time he did it in a game, he got benched for show-boating...by none other than Leo the Lip

Thanks . I usually go up on the train and meet my son and grandsons for a game a couple of times a year, after taking the ferry across the bay from Jack London. This year, Emmylou will go with me - well not into the stadium, but for the train trip.

Grats on the score. You beat me out by only a couple of minutes
OG, you being a Giants fan, I can see us having a good time of it, being in the same division!
Another wonderful photo, Dwight, you sure do it right!

Glad to hear your on the way to better health, Randy, being sick and being in the hospital on top of it is a bummer. That first photo of the barlow looks real good the others not so much, such is life!
My usual knife perch...

And a visitor to my perch...
Vince, I know how I would handle that visitor and my Lamb Foot would assist:D
