Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Hey folks I've been away for a bit I got sick spent 9 days in the hospital got back home and been going for treatments so not much time spent on here. Much better now so I'm back.
Some time back I ordered a Rodgers lambsfoot barlow but what I received was a clip point. The dealer told me to keep the clip point and he would send the correct knife no charged and was very nice about it. I noticed the clip had extremely poor fit and finish and thought it was junk. The dealer did what he said and sent the lambsfoot so I opened the box and out came my Rodgers lambsfoot problem is it's so poorly constructed I would be afraid to use the knife which is a shame because at first glance she's a beauty. The tang is to me just plain weird there is a bad gap on the spine tried too capture in these pics. I would steer clear of the new Rodgers knives.

Good Thursday morning to you Guardians. Been a busy week and today will be no different. Having coffee and some breakfast now, will be leaving shorty to get maintenance work done on the truck, then visiting a friend. I'll try to catch up this evening. Iron Mike will be with me today. Have a good day!

Some nice pic sets guys:thumbsup:

You HAVE been busy Russell, congratulations to your daughter and her Beau :)

Thank you Jack, most appreciated.:)

Nice creamy smooth horn right there.

Found this Lamb, dirt cheap. It had the look I love with the older ones. Has a few issues, but plenty of life left. The Tang is marked Hale Forge, Sheffield. Fearless Leader and resident Sheffield Cutlery Expert, Jack Black Jack Black may be able to provide more details. I’ve already named it...Gus.

What character this old one has. An early one not marked England. Love the handles, the whole thing speaks volumes.

Vince, I know how I would handle that visitor and my Lamb Foot would assist:D

That's John, Preston. Maybe I shouldn't have chosen a confusing username! ;)

No worries. I'm happy to be confused for Vince, he seems like a great guy. :D
I don't mind the squirrels, they bury their nuts around those trees. My dog however... hates them!

I don't mind squirrels either. I think I see them every day at home and at work. At my last house, I had two mesquite trees in my front yard, and squirrels frequently climbed those trees. We could see them from inside the house because we had a large window in front next to the front door. Once, when I came home from work, my wife told me our daughter (then maybe about 5 years old) took 1,000 pictures of a squirrel with my wife's digital camera. I thought she was using hyperbole, but she wasn't. I'm glad it wasn't 35mm film!

What a stupendous combination, this AC is top!!!;)

Thank you very much :)

As usual one more day to walk in my pocket...:D:thumbsup:

Very sorry to hear about your latest trip to the hospital Randy, but glad you're back home again now  What a badly-made knife! Why would you send that out to a customer you'd already messed around?! o_O I'm not a fan of these knives, but that looks to me like it was made some years ago - perhaps 2 decades or more ago. Eggington use outworkers to produce their knives, which gives them even less control over quality - since even if they reject knives, they may still end up on the market. Not that I'm necessarily saying that happened here, I've seem some very poorly made (and overpriced) knives from that company :(

@r redden - Sorry to hear you've been in hospital, hope you're on the mend, I have a Barlow lambsfoot from Rodgers in Buffalo and its much better than that. Mine also seems rather heavier or thicker?
Most knives put out by the Eggington group are at least acceptable, my complaint is that all there Lambfoot blades are a bit pointy.

The style of their knives has changed quite a bit since that one was made

My usual knife perch...

And a visitor to my perch...

Looking good John :)

If I look out of my window, there is always at least one squirrel within sight, often two or three, chasing each other around the trees and what have you :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACK!!! I hope it's one of your best ever my friend the 21st is special however didn't realize you are that much older than me. :D:D

Thanks a lot Randy :D

Of course you'd catch that...shorty, when I meant shortly...nothing gets by you Jack. That'a a good thing. AC is looking quite lovely, a real stand out from the flock!

Yes, I'm so glad, nice company for your Lamb Foot. Rockies bested the Marlins in Florida!

That is a fantastic find Harvey, I love it, so much character and stag to die for!

Love Cracker Jack and crackerjacks, great picture!

OG, you being a Giants fan, I can see us having a good time of it, being in the same division!

Another wonderful photo, Dwight, you sure do it right!

Happy Birthday, Jack, enjoy it! Thanks for all the information that you put in your posts, much appreciated.

That right there is a great photo of a beautiful knife!

Glad to hear your on the way to better health, Randy, being sick and being in the hospital on top of it is a bummer. That first photo of the barlow looks real good the others not so much, such is life!

Vince, I know how I would handle that visitor and my Lamb Foot would assist:D

Sorry Preston :D I make plenty of typos myself, but have never been able to resist a corny pun  Thank you for your very kind words :)

Thank you Jack. Lovely pictures of the bike. Cheers and to your good health.

Thanks a lot Harvey :)

Fantastic Vince, love the bottle cap :D

Good for you Vince :)

I hate squirrels

I find the squirrels to be very entertaining. I like to watch them jump from tree to tree and they are also good exercise for my dog when he chases them around. I don't even mind the raccoons and possums, they all remind me that I live in the country. I'm just glad I don't have to deal with bears and wolves like Dave. :D
