Gun Picture Thread

After a first year of EDC, these are my ammo choices. Yet to try the BB Wadcutters in the 325.

Are all those advertised velocities? I know that lots of guns don’t match those numbers when it comes to actual velocity. I need a chronograph.

Yes. I need one, too, in particular for the shorter barrels and revolvers.

Generally, Speer and BB data for 5" 1911 are pretty good though.

Still, the table gives you a good feeling of relative performances, i.e., one round vs. the other, IMO.

Funny you ask. I try and invite some coworkers periodically, free ammo, private range (rarely anybody there), training, suppressed stuff, SBR, SBS, FRT stuff, plenty of steel plates, etc. They all say "sure" until they have to get up early on a Saturday 🤣
I shoot just about every weekend and burn through about 1k rounds a month doing drills and such.

I just know that advertised velocities never state what length barrel they are using to get those speeds. So yeah, general ballpark velocity is correct.

I got a pile of HSTs too! For my .45s. I shoot Gold Dots out of my 9mms.
Same here.
Have y’all tried the Federal 115gr +p+ ? I don’t usually carry 115, but that particular round seems to hit violently on meat. I always have some around.
Growing up around cattle, we have always been able to test ammo on carcasses, and I’ll never forget the violence of that round when it hit. Twelve gauge 00 buck was the worst.
Just rambling here, but I remember the first time my buddy and I shot a carcass with 00 buck out of a bird gun. We immediately went out and bought short barreled 12 gauges. Mossberg 500 combo sets.
Good times.

I practice with 115 and 124, but defensive rounds are at least 124gr +p Gold Dots.

Yeah 12 gauge is devastating with buck or slug, as long as you know its limitations. .

What I really love about those Federal rounds is the big F for F U on them!🤗

I think this is a good one for anyone that owns guns here in the USA. It has already started here in a few states, most recently, the state of Virginia. Look north to our Canadian neighbors and you will see the playbook.
