I've been a goldsmith since 2010. I graduated from Iowa state university with a BFA, so you could say I'm a "trained" professional artist. I have a really hard time making more than one or two paintings a year, and a few drawings from time to time. I have a painting I've been working on of my dog for a year and a half :/. The painting of the octopus behind it is half done and several years old... I would never make it as a painter lmao.

Lol right on. That’s sort of how I am with woodworking… I like it, and I am good at it, but I only make 3-4 pieces a year.

Beautiful paintings though; you’re Very talented.
 
OMG again Sarah that is beyond words. Thank you for the word in progress pictures, they tell part of the journey but I’m sure there’s a lot more behind the scenes planning that goes into something like this.😉
 
This will be a MONUMENTAL Stag Barlow - Holy Smokes, SarahLadd SarahLadd . :cool:
And to think I was off to sleep without seeing this. Now I have a new night time dream to transport me. ;)
 
The evolution of this scene is just spectacular. The Stag is now a creature of stature and the night scene pulls you in wanting to breathe the night air and see more as the Stag see it.

Yellow (golden) moon is all magic come to life. All complex, yet serene.

I've posted a short video of this engraving on my Instagram. I don't think it's possible to share video here unless I want to upload to YouTube, and I'm not feeling it lol.
