Hawk fighting pou.

He killed some kids in a car because they cut him off

He killed a guy walking down the street to "test" a crossbow. He burnt a guy alive who was asleep in a car because the guy dissed him in a bar. There's more...lots more.

I have a hawk in my truck every day. It is a tool it gets used regularly. I haven't killed anyone with it yet...

Well it sounds to me like you won't have a chance to defend yourself if he's going to shoot you with a crossbow from afar or burn you alive while you sleep.

I practise all the time with my hawks. Also with a naginata, jo staff, and jujitsu. Why have something if you do not know how to use it? BTW I had wrapped my hawk handle (CS trail) with para and after working out with it awhile I took it off. Any one else have that experince.

Ditto. I had a CS trail custom shaped, finished and cord wrapped. I left the cord beneath the head but removed it in the grip area. Tightly wound paracord feels slippery to me, and I prefer the smaller grip diameter of bare wood.

I like to keep a wrap under the head for about 4" and a wrap near the end of the haft.
Reason being, the wrap under the head helps keep the head in place, and provides a good gripping surface to use when choking up on the head for close work. The wrap at the base helps keep my hand on the haft. I like to not have a wrap in between those because the unwrapped portion facilitates quick changes in grip length which, in a fight, or just using it as a tool is a big advantage to have.

BTW, I prefer rawhide lace wraps to paracord wraps.

What is your point?

No offense to Kenny, but his whole line of reasoning seems to be that:
1.) Being prepared is paranoid unless you know you're going to need it.
2.) In the above example, he figures you have no chance so why bother trying.

Although 'hawk vs crossbow doesn't give you a good chance, it means he might not make it out, either. Of course I'd probably be told I'm paranoid because I carry a gun, too.

Well it's not thinking of defense at all I'm talking about, but someone said they carry three knives and two guns with self defense in mind. Personally I wouldn't carry a firearm at all, certainly not TWO. I mean knives I can understand, they're tools they're useful for more than just shooting people and having a backup is helpful because knives do break they do chip and get dull. But I would never carry multiple knives with the thought in my head being that I have one main knife, a backup knife and a last ditch effort. I've never had a knife break on me when I wasn't trying to break it so I can't relate to that, sometimes I carry my folder and a victorinox just because they have tweezers on them.

I would also like to say, in my opinion saying a mafia hitman murderer is your reason for going to the extremes for self defense is stupid. If anyone should make you afraid it's the thousands of desperate people out there, drunks and druggies that do stupid things.

If you're going to be this afraid of just walking down the street or going to the market why not just live in a box for the rest of your life.

Not a single person has stated that they are afraid in this thread.
Prepared has little to no relation to afraid.
You don't seem capable of making a statement that isn't amorphous and is only suggestive.
I fill my fuel tank up on my truck when it reaches a 1/2 tank, does that make me afraid?
I carry a .45-70 when ever I am in an area that bears frequent and it is legal, does that make me afraid? I have had a campground molested by bears twice in my life time, due to poor camp maintenance on another's part in both cases.

In your reasoning here- "Well it sounds to me like you won't have a chance to defend yourself if he's going to shoot you with a crossbow from afar or burn you alive while you sleep."
You are suggesting that one should accept death. You must be a pacifist.

The only person who said a mafia hitman murderer is their reason for going to the extremes for self defense....was YOU.

The point...which you have missed in its entirety...is that you never know what kind of person a stranger really is: he could be a good soul or he could be Richard Kuklinski. Therefore, it is best to approach all strangers with caution...not paranoia Kenny...reasonable...responsible...caution.

He's had allot of lost for a troll. I don't think we need to start acusing him of anything. Also just out of curiosity does this sub forum even have a mod?

Your right...except when there is such a disconnection between the premise and the conclusion that it makes me suspicious that Kenny is trying to provoke.

And, yes, Mr. Esav Benyamin stops by from time to time. But this forum is particularly well behaved imo.

Excuse me,, but Kenny has said what he believes as you all did. That is NO REASON to start calling him a troll. Have some respect for other peoples opinions.

Yeah...I better shutup...Kenny may be a Kuklinski!

And I apologize for hijacking BirdKiller's topic :(

Ok let's lay off him, if he says we're paranoid and we say he's a troll cause he doesn't agree then we're Just as bad.

I don't care you hijacked I like where this thread has gone.

Just because you disagree with me doesn't mean I'm a troll. Thanks pipeman and birdkiller for suggesting he lay off hehe.

But if you'd like to sit here and call names then so be it.

Like I said before, being prepared is great, especially out in the woods where none of the animals have manners, morals or any kind of respect for others. But when I'm browsing around these parts or watching videos on youtube and I'm always seeing and hearing people talk about how they carry a gun and a bunch of ammo on their belt or you guys talking about carrying three knives just in case and stuff, it bothers me; I can't help but say that I think you're at least a little paranoid if you spend your whole life being worried that everyone around you might turn up to be a psychopath.

When this thought that you could be that 1 in 300,000,000 people that someone decides to kill and you start to protect yourself for that one in three million chance, then yeah I feel I have to call you paranoid.

Don't you have an ounce of trust for those around you? Sorry but I think there's something wrong with that.

Hey Kenny
I carry three knives to cut leather with and string and whittle, never would cut a people with it, other than myself occasionally;-))
Oh and, animals are a LOT easier to get along with than armed people. ;-)))

Best regards

Robin
