I'm curious as to how many will be made..if it's 250 or less it will be more collectable and hold its value better. I know I'm in the minority but I would love to see a 112 version that folks could vote for. I wonder how big or small a run of special 112's it would take to be feasible? I jumped on the D2 Lil'Jack and I'm not alone in my love for the 112. I really want SK to be successful if for no other reason than we get unusual configurations to collect and use. Buck really cares about the folks who collect there knives but it's easier for SK and Copper and Clad and others like them to give us special knives like this. How about a 112 this summer?

Nail notch is tabled until the thumb disk poll finishes, which I'll post in a week or so.

Ok, so from hence forth we're not voting to have a nail notch or not...?
Then Later a supplemental poll will be loaded, allowing 4 choices: thumb disk or not and finger grooves or not??
Hoping to realize how this will be played out. DM

We can safely say that S90V is a lock as well as the Nickel Silver Bolsters. I'm pretty certain Carbon Fiber will be the winner.

Clip vs drop is still close and we need to see how the stone wash matches up to the eventual blade shape and carbon fiber.

Good call, make sure the sum of the parts compliment the whole.

I voted: Drop Point, S90V, Satin, NO Nail Notch, Black Micarta Inlay, Nickel Silver Bolsters.

skblades --- Here are my two choices to add to the original poll:

Yes to finger groove.
No to thumb disc.

Thanks!

I can't believe someone just posted a link to a competitor of the guy who's hosting this poll and giveaway. It's not against the forum rules to post those guys as they're paying members, but that was a pretty tasteless plug in my opinion even if that want the intent.

If you're referring to my post it wasn't a plug, I didn't even know the host of this thing was a knife retailer..

It does illustrate the point that the majority vote in this poll has basically created what has been done time and time again. Super steel drop point blade, check. Nickel Siler bolsters, check. Cool synthetic scale material, check. Lastly, nail nick, how boring. :(

That's why this poll disappointed me so much. We had a chance to create a combo that has never been done, but it always seems that the collectors win out over people that want to use the knife.

Oh well, such is life. Sorry for the rant, I am sick today and a bit frustrated.

Yeah pretty much.
I had voted for D2, drop point, with navy blue. The only change I'd make to my vote is that I had voted for nickel silver bolsters, but for a working knife, I think aluminum would have been better.

D2 in a drop point is just such an ass-kicking, hard working combo, that when you combine it with micarta, and aluminum, it just screams "use the bejeebers outta me, i can take it."

Agreed, but I would take it a step further by adding a pocket-clip (you can always remove it) and some method for safe, easy, one hand opening.

Bottom line for me is that we could have had a 110 with studs/disk, aluminum frame, and pocket clip. This is something that has never been done before and the steel and scale material really wouldn't have mattered to me.

This poll would likely have been radically diffferent if not posted in the Buck forum. Here, you are likely to get more traditional results that are just minor variations of what has been done over and over again. I can't count the many times I have seen requests for a more modern version of the 110 and here we had a chance to create it.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that. Glad you said something. DM

I don't think this is true. We've not had this time and again and the collectors don't always get what they want. I don't want to collect it. I want to use it but I would not purchase the style of knife you favor for my use. DM

+1 mate, I was hoping this would go the way of a modern 110.

Sometimes design by committee doesn't result in the best outcome.
