I'am with all who would like a more modern 110 that would be a pleasure to carry and use. 😎 Something different different that's all.

We are not all going to agree on this, so...

Thank you SK Blades for trying to do something next to impossible. Preston

I think you are right. I give them a burger meal for attempting this. Just reading through all the different likes is a brain fry. I think just the blade shape alone separates the taste. Which ever is settled on I wouldn't gamble on making more than 100 of these for sale. DM

I don't think this is true. We've not had this time and again and the collectors don't always get what they want. I don't want to collect it. I want to use it but I would not purchase the style of knife you favor for my use. DM

I may have been exaggerating a bit out of frustration. I apologize for that and meant no disrespect. Obviously we all like different things and that's okay. My main point is simply that if someone wants a classically styled 110 they have literally hundreds of options to choose from already. If someone wants a more modern version, well...

Ok, I'll agree with that. You can readily acquire a 110 with the features you desire. Our custom makers install pocket clips. There are gents here who post photos of this work. DM

Honestly I sure don't mean to disrespect anyone at all. I believe SK will base his decision on the majority of likes . After all he's the one that has to sell them. What ever the out come is fine with me. For sure trying to please everyone is next to impossible. But as stated there are so many same old same old 110s with different scales different blade steels and nickel or brass and copper frames. I'am not sure I would trust someone to mount a clip Vantage style on my Knife. Drilling and tapping those two tiny holes would scare me and I would not want to here hears your Knife back,I tried but the tap broke. The clips screwed on the face of bolsters have a huge suck factor with me . Knife doesn't carry deep enough and don't feel good in the hand and just don't look good. I rather buy the Knife all ready to go . I'll just keep carrying my Vantages. There Great Knives too. 😁 It's all good!

No reason to change the most successful model ever other than mixing up the materials. I doubt Buck will do it either with as many as they sell every year. 50 plus years, Viagra can't match that staying power. Maybe you might get a new model but my money is on the 110 quietly doing its thing. The fan club is huge. If you want a modern 110 its available now. We are already seeing modern materials on the knife. Custom options are endless. What if you could get a 57 Chevy today? Just like the original.

I don't think anyone is asking to change the the knife that drastically or did I miss something? The only change I would like to have seen is a professional installation of a pocket clip that if not wanted could've be taken off and not affect the looks of the 110 much at all. But by no means did I and I don't think anyone here is demanding anything . It's good for everyone to say what they would like.

Exactly my thougts. Just like everyone elses. It's all good. I wasn't coming down on anyone.

Now that knife imo has a few things I like the frame the blade and the steel. The things I don't like the clip and how it's mounted the thumb stud and the price they were . I have seen you post a pic of your Vantage Pro. A nice one I might add. So I know you know all about how it looks and how it is in your pocket. So if you don't mind me asking you do you truly think a 110 with that style clip would take away to much of the true classic design? Just curious to your opinion as I know you really care for Buck Knives 👍

Please tell me what your "more modern 110' would be. I just can't get a visual of what you might be talking about. Thanks, Preston

All I want is a pocket clip that doesn't look like an after thought . A thin stainless frame would be nice. Have the option of brushed or polished. Keep the same lines and bolsters a little thinner. Still have all the different Scale options and blade options. Keeping the classic look. Is the 110 a Great Knife as is? Yes . Does it do the job as is? Yes. Is it one of the best looking folders? Yes . Are there millions of them. Yes. Can it be made to be more user friendly? What do you EDC ? I know I don't edc a 110 but I still like em and would like too. It's funny though this has gotten a little out a line as far as the choices being offered. Poor sk, and all who take this to heart. It's cool though to see ideas from everyone. The classic 110 will still be here long after all of us. There's that many!

Thanks, for your reply, Xr6x...discussion is a good thing. I don't EDC a 110, but do a lot of hunting and fishing and one goes with me at those times. My EDC, I hate to admit is a Mini Grip, I love Buck Knives, but, love the Axis Lock and the Mini's size works for me!

I have tried to warm up to Buck's liner locks at different times. I have had liner locks not lock on opening for what ever reason and I don't trust myself with one in a situation where I might not have time to think and check that it's locked up, I know when my 110 locks up. My AG 347 has come close but has not replaced the Mini. It still is not as comfortable, 'cause, when in the pocket it rides deeper than the Mini. The 110 is at least a half inch longer than the 347.

I sort of like your views on 'modern 110', except the pocket clip, where would you put it? Slim it down, maybe, but, when processing game/skinning, having something like the 110's girth is nice. Stainless, maybe, but, blood and guts are slippery. Remember what the 110 was designed for and is called...a folding hunter. Not a folding EDC. The 500 series, I would consider candidates for what you are envisioning for the 110.

I'm an old fart and somewhat set in my ways...I don't want a silk purse made into a sow's ear. We all have our likes and dislikes and in the end we will vote with our dollars. Preston

Preston, yes, for me the thick handle of the 110 offers good comfort during hours of use. (I actually like knives with even thicker handles). A pocket clip detracts from this comfort. I don't care for these cookie cutter Spydie type knives. Still, I hope Buck's marketing folks are reading through this topic because much has surfaced in this. DM

That is a nice modern version of the 110, but it suffers from a few issues that likely kept it from selling well. First it wasn't widely known except by rabid Buck fans that probably didn't like the styling anyway. Second it was way too expensive which would have kept the everyday knife buyers away. Third they put a nail nick and thumb studs, which is redundant and horrible looking. Fourth the studs are positioned too close to the pivot, which made it difficult to open ( a disk would fix this problem). Lastly, it was really too heavy for pocket carry (aluminum would fix this). Other than that it was perfect ;)

All of the problems that the Locsha suffered from could have been fixed and those fixes were discussed as options for this knife. I have put more than my two cents in on this and will respectfully bow out of further discussion. Thanks to SK Blades for going through the trouble of doing this and good luck. I hope everyone gets a real nice knife from this.

What are the differences between Carbon Fiber and Micarta. Are there any real advantages or disadvantages of each or is it more of an appearance thing?

Carbon Fiber has been winning the poll from the start, but if you remove the Black/Blue choice of Micarta, that material would win hands down.

I'm in on this knife regardless of it's direction. This much knowledge and experience going into the build of one knife is pretty amazing.

I edc a 110. But sheath carry. I prefer sheath carry. The knife dissappears when on your belt. I don't notice a few ounces of weight compared to the 20 lbs I could lose. Lol

The lochsa, I like the lochsa. It's unique, modern g10 with a good steel.

What I know, BuckShack...carbon fiber is light, strong and durable. Micarta is strong and durable but not as light. Micarta can come in many textures and colors. I've not seen much range in carbon fiber used as knife scales/handles. HTH, Preston

You guys have me wanting an aluminum-framed/bolstered 110 with carbon fiber scales. I still want an S90V drop point though, in any finish.
