2nd post here and I'm going for the gold! I voted for
Drop Point
Stone Wash
G10
OD Green
830
Black Hardware
I just found this site a little while back, great site and info. I got one of skblades BG42 110's, I'm really liking it and looking forward to some more offerings, Thanks for the chance and doing these special knives!

I found some time to get the printer up and running and here's what I came up with. I already had neutral PVC in the machine so this is what I got. I didn't put a whole lot of effort in to refining edges and I only printed it at 50% density so you can see the layers pretty clearly, but for concept...
I know a flat scale wasn't an option, but figured it would be more forgiving on your hands and pockets. Something similar to this in G10 would be my perfect 860.

No... I'm not taking my 860 apart and putting these scales on it.
No... They're not for sale and I won't make more.

Ok, that's just sickening cool!

Looking forward to the new build out. You did a great job on the BG42 drop points, had to pick up 2 of them. Thanks and keep up the good work!

Best post yet! You've given us a fantastic idea. The Buck concept team is putting together a couple of ideas largely close to what you have here. Stay tuned!!!

That sounds like a perfect combination. The marksman in S35VN at a competitive price would make a phenomenal knife.

We are getting a few samples built next week, and also sitting down on prices. I want to keep it as competitive as possible without going overboard on cost. We'll keep you all posted. If we charge too much at least 1 person gets a free one right?! :P

i voted drop point, s30v, stone wash, g10, 830 scales and machine finished hardware.

i voted s30v for cost purposes only. i don't feel strongly about the steel. honestly, the 154CM is good enough for what i want this to do. similarly, i don't feel strongly about the blade finish or hardware either.

however, i am glad you are thinking about G10 scales. now THAT i would be interested in (or micarta, as some others have said). also, i don't need "patterned" scales. i think i would just prefer "textured" G10.

thanks for doing this.

Stone wash drop point blade of S35V with OD Green G10 scales and black hardware.

Question:
Since the Stonewash and Satin blade finishes are running neck and neck, is there a possibility of putting both on the market?

Possibly! We have been considering choosing 1 blade finish and then doing half OD Green and half Orange for the colors. Down the line, if this project goes well, we will most likely do another blade. The reason we don't right away, is that 2 different blade finishes would be 2 different processes at the factory. Would make more sense to do only 1 blade finish for this first one. Thanks for the input!

Alright! Here is what we are getting made up in samples this week based on your votes in input.

Drop point of course.
A possible new scale pattern - inspired by MT_Potk (Buck concept department is working on that right now)
G10 - OD Green
S35VN (looking at cost difference with S30V to have a good end price)
Stone Wash (depending on how this looks in person will determine whether we want to do Satin or even black: I know Satin is winning, but we may make an executive decision on this aspect alone :) )
Black Hardware (again depending on the look and feel in person)

I'll see if we can post some photos of the samples (With Buck's permission) once they are made. You all need to see the progress from your votes!

Can't thank you all enough for the great posts!

I voted before reading ahead.
Tanto
S30V
Stone Wash
G10
Burnt Orange
Black hardware

Satin finish would be costlier.

Stonewashed finish would be second, but, not by much. They both look cool.

Although i would prefer non-coated hardware due to wear issues, overall it sounds like a winner to me. I cant wait to see them.

I voted drop point, satin, g10, and machine finished hardware.
No strong steel preference for me.

I would suggest making the handle a bit more hand friendly. My 830 is sharp in places and after a lot of use a bit hard on my hand.

Drop point and G10 seem to be strong favorites now.

looks like your are ready getting some made up but I had a thought, I've had some problems with mine on lock failure due to shock (spine whacks) I think if we made the strap a bit thicker or stronger spring might fix that

also the screws on mine at least I've been no good the heads strip out way to easy but I do have the first run of them (not first production run) so that might have been fix all ready
