I was just thinking of buying this knife and saw this. Pretty cool. I like the drop point blade shape a lot. I'd really like a nice OD green handle in aluminum. I think G10 and steel might make it heavier than I'd like? Thanks for letting us help.
 
Concept design for the scales just came over from Buck. I can't post the picture yet, but let me tell you, it's awesome. I hope you all like it. It pays homage to the original 830 design as well as adding some ergonomics, and from what I can tell, completely eliminating any hot spots when handling. Once it's okay, I'll be posting the picture for your feedback!
 
Love the idea of s35vn since its not something we see much of from Buck.

Also love the idea of a drop point version with the 831 scale pattern

And also a choice between OD Green & Orange g10 as well as stonewash & pocket worn black.
Make all 4 options available!?
Orange/black
orange/sw
ODgreen/black
ODgreen/sw

Have fun with it and leave more choice to the consumer appealing to a larger potential crowd?

Just went through and read the comments to see where everyone stands.

Wanted to add, I do love the idea of an all new handle scale design, similar but new, to further set it apart.

The CF idea is intriguing too...
 
Steel and blade: S30V, S35V, or CTS-XHP and retain satin finish and drop point of 830
Handle material: G10 and black. Black makes for a more discreet carry
Hardware color: Natural. Coated doesn't wear well
Price: $80-120 retail or street price. This range is largely dominated by the Paramilitary 2 and the Griptilian. Give people cause to pause and consider the Marksman. This knife has potential to be legendary

S35VN would be good or maybe Elmax, drop point definitely, stonewash would be nice but can live with satin, OD green G10. I like the scale pattern on my 830 not sure about the scale pattern on the 831.

Ha!!! You guys are killing me! I spoke with Buck last week and they think the sample will be done this week. We are dying over here to see it too!!

Looks like the poll has expired so by Friday we will no longer take user names for the drawing. Friday 2/19/2016 will be the last date for entry.
