Some trivia.
I have been using a prototype of the DPx HEST/F for three weeks. Out here in the jungles of Burma it is constantly wet, dirty and sweaty. Some of the rebels have the DPx HEST fixed version and it has killed a lot of pigs and goats, done surgery and chopped a lot of wood.
The folder has been ground into sand, kept underwater, kept dirty and been used every day. I will post some knife porn when I get decent internet service.
Here are some answers.
- The folder is almost identical in size (other than the prybar) to the fixed blade.
- You should own both. The fixed for absolute abuse and field sharpening and the folder for razor quality cutting and edge retention
- The knife is scary fast out of the pocket...and it locks in place. This feature was not hyped but its a deal closer when you hold it in your hand. Very impressive in the real world too since a closed knife in a hostile environment is not that useful

)
- There are a few more tweaks to this knife before pushing the button but I do need to tell folks that if they have not ordered in the next few days they will have to wait for the next run since we are essentially offering a custom ordered knife in the Mr DP, Sterile as well as left or right hand versions.
Once again the Production model is OD Green with a Milspec Phosphate coating. Available from ESEE dealers worldwide. Jeff and Mike are running enough knives to fill orders. The limited edition is only available at
www.dpxgear.com and there are some going back up for sale on Monday.
I will be back in the jungle so you need to follow up with customer service at DPx Gear. To those who may have sent me emails. I am in the frigging jungle so I can't do much

)) Anyone who contacts the site will get a response and we are trying to get everyone a knife.
